Prevention of hearing loss
Caution: Permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones are used at high volumes for prolonged periods of time. Note: For France, these earphones have been tested to comply with the Sound Pressure Level requirement stipulated in French article L.5232-1.
In order to protect your hearing, we recommend the following:
Always listen to the lowest possible volume for limited periods of time. Ideally, do not exceed 50% of the maximum volume of an MP3 player, iPod or other device and do not listen for more than 1 hour a day. You should immediately stop listening if you experience ringing in your ears or other pain or discomfort. If the earphones cause discomfort or irritation, stop using them. Consult a physician if needed.
In order to avoid dangerous sound bursts, always turn the volume of the sound source down before connecting our Audéo PFE earphones to it.
2.2. Information on product safety
Before inserting the earphones, make sure that the ear tips are attached rmly to the sound tube. Handle the earphones with care and store them in the provided carrying case. Do not expose the earphones to extreme temperatures or to strong magnetic elds. Do not immerse them in liquid. Avoid sharp blows to the earphones. Only use Audéo PFE with original parts. Never use accessories from other manufacturers. Never use the cleaning tool for the earphone sound tube.
Reduced volume or no sound? The acoustic lters might be blocked by dirt. Please replace the lters! (for details see page 18).

4.1. Ear tips
The Audéo PFE come with both silicone ear tips and Comply
TM
Foam Tips; the silicone ear tips are better for use during exercise. The Comply
TM
Foam Tips are better at ltering out ambient noise, making them the best choice for travel or use in noisy surroundings.
To change the ear tips, hold the ear tip in the middle and pull it slowly until it comes loose. Do not use your ngernails or any other sharp object to remove the ear tips, as otherwise they could be damaged. If you are using Comply
TM
Foam Tips, compress them
with your ngers before wearing the earphones.

4.2. Wearing the earphones
Audéo PFE deliver amazing sound if correctly inserted in the ears and if an absolute seal is achieved. To experience their best performance, proceed as follows:
a. Turn the volume of the sound source to a minimum before connecting the earphones. b. Choose the most comfortable ear tips and put them on the earphones. c. Identify the left and right earphone.
L = left R = right
d. Attach the silicone ear guides to
the cables and pull through to the earphones. Use of the ear guides is optional. The ear guides route the wires comfortably around the ears and ensure a perfect t reducing cable noise, especially indicated during exercise.
e. Hold each earphone with the cable
pointing up and the ear tips pointing towards your head, as shown. If you are using Comply
TM
Foam Tips compress them with your ngers before wearing the earphones. Place the cable behind the ear and insert the ear tips into your ear canal with a gentle push. Do not force the earphones into the ears!

f. The ear tips should seal the ear canal and t without any discomfort. Rotate the
earphones as shown, pointing diagonally towards the top of the ear. Gently pull the cable downwards to ensure a perfect t.
If you feel that the ear tips are too loose (insucient seal) or too tight (discomfort), try another size. To remove the earphones pull them out gently with a small rotation in order to break the seal.
Do not pull the cable to remove the earphones from your ear.
4.3. Acoustic lters
The acoustic lters have an essential acoustic impact on the sound of the earphones. The purpose of this lter is to deliver sound that matches what one perceives when listening with non-occluded ears. The product comes with two dierent types of acoustic lters: The gray lter is for enhanced perception of the mid-frequencies and the black lter for enhanced perception of bass and treble. Because each individual‘s perception of sound is unique, Audéo PFE allow you to choose the lter that suits your personal preferences. Another function of the acoustic lter is to prevent earwax (cerumen) from entering the sound tube.
Make sure that the acoustic lters are in place before using the earphones. The earphones only function correctly if the lters are inserted in the sound tube. Always use the same color of acoustic lters for both the left and right earphone. Replace the acoustic lters when they become dirty or clogged and the sound of the earphones is aected.
18
19
To change the acoustic lters proceed as follows:
a. First of all remove the ear tips (foam or
silicone) by holding them in the middle and
pulling them slowly until they come loose.
b. Remove the lter from the earpiece
by pushing the changing tool with the
threaded end into the used acoustic
lter, turn it to the right to screw it and
pull the used lter straight out.
Preferably use the threaded end of the changing tool to remove the lters from the sound tube.
c. Dispose of any soiled or damaged
acoustic lters. To reuse the lter in the future, insert it straight in an empty slot in the lter box, then turn the changing tool to the left to unscrew and remove it.
d. To place a new acoustic lter in the
earphones, press the split end of the changing tool into the lter ring and pull it gently out vertically.
Preferably use the split end of the
changing tool to remove the lters from the lter box.
20
21
e. Push the new acoustic lter into the sound tube of your
earphones. Tip the changing tool sideways to release it. Place
the favorite ear tips on the earphones again.

5. Maintenance
To extend the lifetime of your earphones, keep them clean and follow the recommendations below.
The cleaning tool is for the tube of the ear tips (silicone or foam) and serves to remove earwax build-up. The silicone ear tips should be cleaned regularly with water and mild soap, or with an antiseptic wipe. Always make sure that the ear tips are dry before reusing them. Comply
TM
Foam Tips cannot be cleaned. When they are dirty they should be replaced. The ocial recommended lifetime of Comply
TM
Foam Tips by producer is three months. After extended use, the Comply
TM
