GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING:
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug. No adapter should be used with the plug. The Express is for use on a nominal 120-volt 50/60Hz. Circuit. 230V Optional.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
The vacuum is packed with a cartridge filter, or a bag & bag holder filter. When it is time to change the filter, follow these simple instructions:
1. Unplug the vacuum from the power source.
2. Set the vacuum upright, resting on the back of the machine with the Inlet Door facing you.
3. With your thumb and forefinger, pull out the curved side tabs of the Inlet Door until they are free from the latching area
of the body of the vacuum. Then pull the cover towards you. The cover will separate from vacuum body and the cartridge filter, or bag & shell filter can be changed.

4. Cartridge filter replacement-Install a new cartridge with the pleated paper end towards the motor. Note: The inlet hole
in front of the canister filter is slightly off-center. It should be installed with the label facing the top of the vacuum.
5. Bag filter replacement-Insert new bag into the shell filter. Replace the shell filter once the inside of the shell filter is
covered with debris. Insert shell filter with label facing up.
6. Replace the door, aligning it carefully, first the top, then the bottom. Press down firmly and evenly on the side tabs,
pushing past the second notch.
7. Dispose of the filter cartridge in an appropriate manner compliant with all local, state, and federal laws.
8. These vacuums have a factory installed resettable Thermal Cutout (TCO) for added operator and motor safety. If the
unit gets too hot, the vacuum will shut down for approx. 20 minutes. Turn the on/off switch to the off position, and turn back on in approximately 20 minutes. Your hose may be clogged, or it may be time to install a new filter.
