INTRODUCTION
The AT-DVI40SRS 1080p DVI Extender over Single CAT5 extends your PC DVI transmission distance up to 60m
(200ft) at 1024x768@60Hz. With AT-DVI40SRS, users can transmit high quality digital video of PC applications
through one cost effective Cat5/5e/6 cables to the remote monitor or projector, instead of using short and
expensive DVI cables. With embedded EDID inside the extender, your PC will continue to send the digital video
even when the monitor is not connected. The user can then disconnects the monitor, place it in a remote location and reconnect it without rebooting the operating system.
The AT-DVI40SRS includes two units: transmitting and receiving units. The transmitting unit is connected to
your PC DVI output and the receiving unit is connected to the monitor. While successfully connected, the two
LED lights on the RJ-45 connector will blink. The transmission distance between the sending and receiving
units can be up to 60m (200ft) at XGA (1024x768@60Hz) and 30m (100ft) at UXGA (1600x1200@60Hz),
1920x1200 (50ft) With compact size, AT-DVI40SRS is the most cost effective choice for bringing your impressive digital video to the remote display.

Note: The length depends on the characteristics and quality of the cables. Higher resolutions and longer transmission
distances require low skew cables (<25ns/100m) for best performance.
Unshielded CAT6 with metal RJ-45 connectors is recommended.

1. DVI Signal IN: Plug in a Cat-5/5e/6 cable to be linked to the
RJ-45 connector of the transmitting unit
2. +5V DV: Connect to 5V DC power supply.
1. DVI OUT: Connect to a DVI display with a male-male DVI cable
here.
2. Signal Level: Adjust the 8-level signal equalization control to the
received DVI signals. The DVI signal level varies from 0 (strongest)
to 7 (weakest) for respective transmission length from longest possible range to short distance. Please adjust the signal level from 7
to 0 and stop turning the rotary switch whenever the video is playing normally. Inappropriate signal level setting may cause overpowering issue that would shorten the product life significantly!
Note for EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) learning
1. Plug in a male-male DVI cable between DVI OUT and the monitor and power on the receiving unit.
2. Turn Signal Level counterclockwise [ ] to 7. The LED on the RJ-45 connector will dim and light again in
a few seconds, which indicates the monitor’s EDID is retrieved. DO NOT let the rotary arrow pass 6 which
will erase the EDID just learned and set back to default EDID.
3. Unplug the male-male DVI cable from the monitor and connect it to the mini-transmitter of ATDVI40SRS.
The LED on the RJ-45 connector will dim and light again in a few seconds, which indicates the EDID
learning procedure is complete.
4. Unplug the male-male DVI cable from the mini-transmitter and reconnect it to the monitor. Connect the
mini-transmitter of AT-DVI40SRS to the DVI source and enjoy the visual experience.
5. To restore the EDID back to default value, please turn Signal Level clockwise [ ] from anywhere to

CONNECTION AND OPERATION
1. Connect the mini-transmitter to your DVI source (PC).
2. Connect the receiver to the remote DVI monitor.
3. Make sure the Cat-5/5e/6 cable is tightly connected and not loose.
4. Enjoy your high quality PC video on the screen.
5. If you see flickering or blinking image on the display, please adjust the rotary control switch to improve the
cable skew. 0 stands for the strongest DVI signal level for longest possible transmission length while 7 stands
for the weakest DVI signal level for short transmission length. Please adjust the signal level from 7 to 0 and
stop turning the rotary switch whenever the video is playing normally. Inappropriate signal level setting may
cause overpowering issue that would shorten the product life significantly!

Unplug the product before cleaning. Use a damp cloth for cleaning and not cleaning fluid or aerosols.
Such products could enter the unit and cause damage, fire, or electric shock. Some substances may also mar
the finish of the product.
Never open, remove unit panels, or make any adjustments not described in this manual. Attempting to do
so could expose you to dangerous electrical shock or other hazards. It may also cause damage to your ATDVI40SRS. Opening the product will void the warranty.
Do not attempt to service the unit. Disconnect the product and contact your authorized Atlona reseller or contact Atlona directly.

WARRANTY
Limited Warranty
Atlona Technologies warrants that (a) its products (the AT-DVI40SRS) will perform substantially in accordance
with the accompanying written materials for a period of 3 years from the date of receipt and (b) that the
product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of
3 years. In the event applicable law imposes any implied warranties, the implied warranty period is limited to 3
years from the date of receipt. Some jurisdictions do not allow such limitations on duration of an implied warranty, so the above limitation may not apply to customers that fall within those areas.
Customer Remedies
Atlona Technologies’ and its suppliers’ entire liability and Customer’s exclusive remedy shall be, at Atlona Technologies’ decision, either return of the price paid for the product, repair, or replacement of the product that
does not meet this Limited Warranty and which is returned to Atlona Technologies with a copy of the Customer’s receipt. This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the product has resulted from accident, abuse, misapplication, or natural occurrence. In example but not limited to: power surges (electrical storms, local power outage), dropping the product (or items on the product), contact with fluids, and physical misconduct (i.e. kicking
or punching). Any replacement product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period.
No other warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Atlona Technologies and its suppliers disclaim all other
warranties, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability
and fitness for a particular purpose, with regard to the product and any related written materials. This Limited
Warranty gives customer specific legal rights. Customers may have other rights depending on the jurisdiction.
No liability for damages
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Atlona Technologies or its suppliers be
liable for any damages arising out of the use of or inability to use this product, even if Atlona Technologies has
been advised of the possibility of such damages. Such damages include but are not limited to: special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages for personal injury, loss of business profits, business interruption, loss
of business information, or any other pecuniary loss.
Atlona Technologies’ and its suppliers’ entire liability under any provision of this agreement shall be limited to
the amount actually paid by you for the product. Some Jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation
of liability for consequential or incidental damage. The above limitations may not apply to you in such jurisdictional cases.
