Applications
The SD72 is an aggressively priced quality
speaker/baffle/transformer package suitable for most any paging or background application including retail stores, restaurants, schools and other institutional facilities.
General Description
The speaker used in the SD72 is the next generation of Atlas
high performance cone loudspeakers, very similar to the preceding C Series speakers. The similarity in the sonic qualities
ensures that contractors and designers who have worked with
the Atlas Sound C Series in the past will know exactly what to
expect when they purchase the SD72.
Three Model Options Are Offered
Model SD72 includes a 10oz magnet dual cone
loudspeaker with a factory assembled 25V/70.7V 5-watt dual
voltage transformer.
Model SD72W includes the SD72 fully assembled onto an
attractive CRS white powder coated baffle*. This baffle includes
welded speaker mounting studs making for a more discrete
installed appearance.
Model SD72WV is identical to the SD72W with the addition of a
50 Ohm baffle mounted potentiometer for applications requiring
local volume control. Knob may be removed to allow screwdriver adjustment.

Use Atlas Sound’s 8" (203mm) diameter, multi-purpose, coaxial loudspeaker package Model GD87 for voice transmission, music, and signal
reproduction in high-quality commercial, industrial, and institutional applications.
The speaker used in the GD87 package is the next generation of Atlas
high performance coaxial 8" cone loudspeakers, very similar to the
C803A Series speakers. The similarity in the sonic qualities ensures that
contractors and designers who have worked with the C803A Series in
the past will know exactly what to expect when they purchase the GD87.
Two Model Options Are Offered:
Model GD87. The GD87 includes a 16 watt coaxial loudspeaker with a
post-mounted tweeter, which adds strength to the assembly and
provides an attractive appearance. This coaxial loudspeaker features a
70 Hz-15.5 kHz, ±5dB frequency response and a broad, uniform dispersion pattern Such provisions allow for highly intelligible sound reproduction and better distribution for high-quality sound systems. The woofer
has a 10 oz. (260g) ceramic magnet; the tweeter has a 2.35 oz. (67g)
ceramic magnet, and the unit has a peak sensitivity of 98dB (at 1 watt,
1 meter). The loudspeaker is matched with a high efficiency 8 watt 70.7V
transformer with a maximum insertion loss of 0.6dB. This premium transformer is constructed of audio grade laminations and has a full range
frequency response of + 1dB from 50 Hz to 15 kHz. The primary taps
are 1, 2, 4, and 8 watts.
