Model 4.5 LR Front Channel Speaker
The Model 4.5 LR Front Channel Speakers are two-way systems including a built-in high pass
filter at 125 Hz, intended for use with a quality subwoofer, such as the Atlantic Technology Model 4.5
PBM. Each speaker contains two 3 1/2" IMG (injection-molded graphite) woofers, and a 1" Ferrofluid
cooled silk dome tweeter using a powerful neodymium magnet, in an acoustically inert MDF cabinet.
Model 4.5 C Center Channel Speaker
It is vital to the accurate reproduction of a multi-channel soundtrack that the three front speakers have
the same sonic signature. Therefore, the Model 4.5 C Center Channel Speaker contains the same
two 3 1/2" IMG woofers, 1" Ferrofluid
the 4.5 LR speakers. The 4.5 C is designed for use in home theater systems that use a dedicated center
channel speaker. This speaker incorporates unique compensation circuitry that allows it to be placed
directly above or below the TV screen and still provide accurate reproduction. Since up to 85% of the
movie soundtrack is reproduced through the center channel speaker, it is important that its sound be
accurate and timbre-matched to the other speakers in the system. The unique rear-mounted high
frequency control incorporated in the 4.5 C allows virtually perfect matching.
To further optimize the performance of the three front channels, all the drivers in the 4.5 LR's and
4.5 C are mounted to a solid machined aluminum plate. This mounting system eliminates undesirable
resonances and helps focus the tweeter’s sound to provide precise image placement and wide
dispersion.

Model 4.5 SR Surround Speaker
The Model 4.5 SR Surround Speaker is intended for use in audio/video sound systems with dedicated
surround channel speakers. Each speaker has two 3 1/2" IMG woofers, as well as two 3/4" fabric dome
tweeters which are angled and phased to produce ambience without localization. Its wide bandwidth
and unique construction makes it especially suitable for Dolby Digital and DTS applications. Please
note that there is a dedicated LEFT and RIGHT model 4.5 SR. This is clearly marked on the back of
each speaker.
Note: The 4.5 SR is not intended for use as a regular right and left front channel stereo speaker or satellite.
Its spatial performance characteristics are simply not appropriate for this purpose. In the Atlantic Technology
4.5 Series of components, the Model 4.5 LR fills this role.
Although the speakers in the Atlantic Technology System 4.5 are acoustically and cosmetically
matched to each other for best results, they may also be used with a wide variety of speakers from
other manufacturers with satisfying results.
Connecting Your System
We recommend that you connect your System 4.5 speaker systems with high quality dual conductor
stranded wire of 18 gauge or larger, for lengths up to 25 feet. Use 16 gauge dual conductor or larger for
longer runs of wire. Contact your local audio/video specialist for specific cable recommendations and
further information for special circumstances.
Warning: To prevent risk of electrical shock or damage to your equipment, always switch off the amplifier or
receiver when making connections to the speaker.
You can connect your System 4.5 speakers by using a variety of audio connectors, or you can:
1. Remove 1/2" of insulation from each wire end.
2. Twist the stranded wire together, keeping the two ends separate.
3. Place the appropriate wire through the appropriate postholes in the connectors. These holes are
revealed when you loosen the connector thumbscrew.
4. Screw down the thumbscrew tightly.
We recommend that you check your local electrical codes to make sure that you are not using an

improper connector.
It is important to observe polarity while making speaker connections:
red (+) terminals on the amplifier to red (+) on the speaker, black (-)
on the amplifier to black (-) on the speaker. Look carefully at the
wires you are using and note that one of conductors of each pair is
marked by a different color, printing, ridges, or a thread intertwined
with the wire strands. By convention, the marked wire is connected
to the red (+) terminal.
