1 Important Safety Instructions

Please read the following instructions thoroughly before using the unit and strictly comply with all safety and operating instructions within this manual.
Do not try to repair the unit yourself. Contact your local dealer for assistance or
your warranty will be voided.
To eliminate any overheating of the battery box, keep all ventilation openings free
from obstruction and do not place any objects on top of the battery bank. Keep the battery box at least 20 cm away from the wall.
Make sure the battery box is installed within the proper environment as specified.
(0 – 40 °C and 30 - 90% non-condensing humidity)
Do not expose the battery box to direct sunlight. Your warranty will be voided if the
batteries fail due to overheating.
This battery box is not designed for use in dusty, corrosive, and salty
environments.
The warranty for this battery bank will be voided if water or other liquids is spilt or
poured onto the battery box. Similarly, we do not warrant any damages to the battery box resulting from foreign objects being inserted into the battery box enclosure.
The battery will discharge naturally if the system is unused for an extended period
of time.
It should be recharged every 2 – 3 months if unused, otherwise the warranty will
be voided. During normal operation, the batteries are automatically kept in a charged state.
Servicing of batteries should be performed or supervised by trained personnel with
comprehensive battery knowledge and the required precautions.
When replacing batteries, only use batteries of equal quantity, type, and capacity. CAUTION – Do not dispose of batteries in close proximity with a fire. The batteries
may explode.
CAUTION – Do not open or mutilate the batteries. The electrolyte from the
batteries is toxic and harmful to the skin and eyes.
CAUTION – Risk of Electric Shock Hazardous voltage may exist between battery
terminals and ground. Test before touching with bare hands.
CAUTION – A battery can present a risk of electric shock and high or short circuit
current. The following precaution measures should be considered when working on batteries:
1. Remove watches, rings, or any other metal objects.
2. Use tools with insulated handles.
3. Wear rubber gloves and boots.
4. Do not put any tools or metal objects on top of batteries.
5. Disconnect all power source prior to connecting / disconnecting battery

Unpackaging and Inspection

Note: The battery box is very heavy. Be cautious when unpacking and lifting the unit to avoid injury.

Maximum Charger Current Setting
It is necessary to select a proper environment to install the unit in order to avoid
and minimize potential damages to the battery box and extend the life of the
batteries. Please follow the instructions below:
1. Keep at least 20 cm (8 inches) of space clearance from the rear panel of the
unit to the wall or other obstructions.
2. Do not block and allow air flows to the ventilation openings of the unit.
3. Please make sure the conditions of the installation site comply to the units
working specifications to avoid overheat and excessive moisture.
4. Do not place the unit in a dusty or corrosive environment or near any
flammable objects.
5. This unit is not designed for outdoor use.

2.4 Connecting to UPS or Another Battery Box
Refer to the diagram below for connecting the battery box to a UPS or another
battery box:
IMPORTANT: Connecting to external batteries will affect the total AH and maximum charger current of the UPS. Please adjust the UPS settings as described below.

Be sure to deliver the used batteries to a recycling facility or ship it to your dealer upon replacing them.
The unit contains no user-serviceable parts. When the battery reaches its service
life (3 ~ 5 years at 25 °C ambient temperature), please contact your dealer for
immediate replacement.
Storage
Before storing, charge the unit for about 4 hours. Then store the unit in an upright,
covered, cool, and dry location in accordance to the conditions described in the
table below.
