IRI 1001
 Hand Held Thermal Imager
The IRI 1001 is an Innovative Handhel
Thermal Imager setting new benchmarks i
size, flexibility, ease of use and cost.
As with all IRISYS thermal imagin
roducts the emphasis is on affordability,
and this is opening up new applicatio
areas for Thermal Imaging.
Typical applications for the IRI 1001
include:
• Predictive and Preventative
Maintenance
• Process Control
• Non Destructive Testing
• Security/Surveillance
• Transportation
• Healthcare
• Research and Development
    The IRI 1001 Handheld
       Thermal Imager
Product Description
The hand-held thermal imager is housed in a metal case with an integral pistol-grip handle. The imaging
optics, detector, drive electronics, optical modulator and rechargeable batteries are all enclosed in this case.
The display for the imager is provided by a Compaq iPAQ palmtop computer, or as an alternative the unit
can be operated using a PC (not normally supplied).
The imager is supplied with a battery charger, a serial cable to connect to an IBM compatible PC, the
software to operate in Microsoft® Windows environment and a rugged carry case.
Operation
The detector used in the IRI 1001 is an IRISYS proprietary pyroelectric array. This views the external scene
via a rotating disc modulator and imaging optics. The data from the detector is passed to the Compaq iPAQ
palmtop computer or IBM PC where it is processed according to user defined requirements set up via
dialogue boxes on the screen. The processed image is presented as a “pixelated” colour or grey scale image.
Images may be captured, stored and manipulated on or off line.
