Surgetestingdetectsfaultsinbothinter-turn windingandphase-to-phaseinsulationsystems.Using advancedanalog-to-digitalconversionhardware,the“D” seriescapturesthesurgetestwaveform,remembersit, displaysitindefinitely,andprintsittotheincludedinkjet printer.Thissurgewaveformstoragecapabilitycanbe appliedtoothermotorsbesidessimpleinductionmotors. The“D”Seriescanbeusedtotestalltherotatingfieldsof asynchronousmotorbystoringthewaveformfroma surgetestononecoil,andcomparingthatwaveformtoa waveformfromeveryothercoil.TheDigitalWinding TestercanalsobeusedonDCarmaturesorfields.The resultingwaveformcanthenbecomparedtoallotherbarto-barorspanteststodetectawindingfault.
