This ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock should only be used in environments with ambient temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 35°C (95°F).
Refer to the rating label on the bottom of your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock and ensure that your power adapter complies with this rating.
Do not leave your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock on your lap or near any part of your body to prevent discomfort or injury from heat exposure.
Do not use damaged power cords, accessories, and other peripherals with your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock.
While powered on, ensure that you do not carry or cover your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock with any materials that can reduce air circulation.
Do not place your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile
Dock on uneven or unstable work surfaces.
You can send your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock through x-ray machines (used on items placed on conveyor belts), but do not expose them to magnetic detectors and wands.
Contact your airline provider to learn about related inflight services that can be used and restrictions that must be followed when using your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock in-flight.

Caring for your ASUS Tablet and
ASUS Mobile Dock
Disconnect the AC power and remove the battery pack (if applicable) before cleaning your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock. Use a clean cellulose sponge or chamois cloth dampened with a solution of nonabrasive detergent and a few drops of warm water. Remove any extra moisture from your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock using a dry cloth.
Do not use strong solvents such as thinners, benzene, or other chemicals on or near your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock.
Do not place objects on top of your ASUS Tablet and
ASUS Mobile Dock.
Do not expose your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile
Dock to strong magnetic or electrical fields.
Do not use or expose your ASUS Tablet and ASUS
Mobile Dock near liquids, rain, or moisture.

Dock to dusty environments.

The ASUS Tablet allows you to perform touch screen gestures while working on Windows® 8.1.
Ambient light sensor
The ambient light sensor detects the amount of ambient light in your environment. It allows the system to automatically adjust the brightness of the display depending on the ambient light condition.
Front camera
The built-in 2-megapixel front camera allows you to take pictures or record videos using your ASUS Tablet.

Touch screen panel
This high-definition touch screen panel provides excellent viewing features for photos, videos, and other multimedia files on your ASUS Tablet. It also allows you to operate your ASUS Tablet using touch gestures.
NOTE: To know more about using touch screen gestures when operating your ASUS Tablet, refer to the Gestures for the touch screen panel section in this manual.
Rear camera
The built-in rear camera allows you to take pictures or record videos using your ASUS Tablet.

Volume button
The volume button allows you to increase or decrease the volume level of your ASUS Tablet.
Power button
Press the power button to turn your ASUS Tablet on, put it to sleep mode, and wake it up from sleep mode.
In the event that your ASUS Tablet becomes unresponsive, press and hold the power button for about ten (10) seconds to force it to shut down.
IMPORTANT! Forcing the system to restart may result to data loss. We strongly recommend that you back up your data regularly.

Headphone output/microphone input combo jack port
This port allows you to connect your tablet to amplified speakers or headphones. You can also use this port to connect your tablet to an external microphone.
Audio speakers
The built-in audio speakers allow you to hear audio straight from your tablet. Audio features are software controlled.
MicroSD card slot
This ASUS Tablet comes with a built-in memory card reader slot that supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC card formats.

Micro USB 2.0 port
This micro USB (Universal Serial Bus) 2.0 port is compatible with USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices such as keyboards, pointing devices, flash disk drives, external HDDs, speakers, cameras and printers.
You may also insert the bundled power adapter into this port to charge the battery pack and supply power to your ASUS Tablet.
WARNING! The adapter may become warm to hot while in use. Do not cover the adapter and keep it away from your body while it is connected to a power source.

ASUS Mobile Dock power switch / Bluetooth switch
Move this swich to the right or left to turn on or turn off your ASUS Mobile Dock’s Bluetooth connectivity.
Bluetooth indicator
This indicator lights up when your ASUS Mobile Dock’s Bluetooth is enabled.

ASUS Mobile Dock hinge
This hinge allows you to connect the tablet to the keyboard dock. It also holds the tablet in place as you adjust it to different viewing angles.
Keyboard
The keyboard provides full-sized QWERTY keys with a comfortable travel depth for typing. It also enables you to use the function keys, allows quick access to Windows®, and controls other multimedia functions.

Charging your ASUS Tablet
A.Connect the micro USB cable to the power adapter.
B.Plug the power adapter into a grounded power outlet.
C.Plug the micro USB connector into your ASUS Tablet.
NOTE: The power adapter may vary in appearance, depending on models and your region. Use only the bundled power adapter for charging.

Powering on your ASUS Tablet
IMPORTANT!
•Locate the input/output rating label on your ASUSTablet and ASUS
Mobile Dock and ensure that it matches the input/output rating information on your power adapter. Some ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock models may have multiple rating output currents based on the available SKU.
•Ensure that your ASUSTablet and ASUS Mobile Dock is connected to the power adapter before turning it on for the first time. We strongly recommend that you use a grounded wall socket while using your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock on power adapter mode.
•The socket outlet must be easily accessible and near your ASUS
Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock.
•To disconnect your ASUSTablet and ASUS Mobile Dock from its main power supply, unplug your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock from the power socket.

NOTES:
•Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
•Dispose of used battery according to the instructions.
Ensure to fully charge the battery before using your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock for extended periods. Remember that the power adapter charges the battery as long as it is plugged into a power source. Be aware that it takes much longer to charge the battery when your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock is in use.
IMPORTANT! Do not leave your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock connected to the power source once it is fully charged. Your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock is not designed to be connected to the power source for extended periods of time.

The battery
Your ASUS Tablet and ASUS Mobile Dock is equipped with a high performance non-detachable Li-Ion battery. Observe the maintenance guidelines for a longer battery life.
•Do not remove the non-detachable Li-on battery as this will void the warranty.
•Avoid charging in extremely high or low temperature.The battery performs optimally in an ambient temperature of +5 °C to +35 °C.
•Do not remove and replace the battery with a non-approved battery.
•Do not remove and soak the battery in water or any other liquid.
•Never try to open the battery as it contains substances that might be harmful if swallowed or allowed to come into contact with unprotected skin.
•Do not remove and short-circuit the battery, as it may overheat and cause a fire. Keep it away from jewelry or metal objects.
•Do not remove and dispose of the battery in fire. It could explode and release harmful substances into the environment.
•Do not remove and dispose of the battery with your regular household waste. Take it to a hazardous material collection point.
•Do not touch the battery terminals.
