Product Highlights
Portable and Powerful
The 2.56 lbs. slate is the first tablet featuring a full power Intel Core i processor.
Featuring an Intel Core i5-470UM processor and Intel GMA HD graphics, the Eee Slate
delivers a responsive multi-tasking performance and can handle the demands of office
and educational computing. The processor’s Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 along
with Intel Hyper-Threading technology allocates power to where it is needed the most
so users can maximize their productivity and experience a higher performance. The
slate is able to maintain a thin .67” profile and a lightweight form factor, thanks to the
ultra-low voltage Intel Core i5 processor, allowing mobile professionals and students to
easily travel with the slate. The Eee Slate PC also features a slim profile power supply
that charges the slate PC and any USB powered device simultaneously.
Multimedia Support
The EP121 offers a 12.1” 1280 x 800 LED-backlit WSVGA IPS multi-touch display for
users to create and consume rich content. A 175 degree viewing angle from all sides
permits easy sharing of content with colleagues, regardless of how users rotate or hold
the device. Users can output Full HD 1080p content to a large external display to share
presentations with colleagues via the slate’s mini HDMI port. Additionally, the slate PC
supports Adobe Flash 10.1, which allows professionals and students to view a majority
of video and animation found on the web.
Multiple Input Options
The Eee Slate offers users various input options, which include touch, stylus, or an
external Bluetooth keyboard. With the slate’s responsive, multi-touch screen, users can
collaborate on projects, create, and share presentations, by simply moving their
fingertips. When using the stylus, the slate features an intelligent palm rejection
function for more accurate input. An active stylus with Wacom digitizer enables more
precise control and pressure recognition, which works well with the pre-loaded Art Rage
graphics application and is ideal for professionals in the design field. The Eee Slate
comes with a sleek Bluetooth keyboard for an alternative input method.
Durability
Encased in the thin but durable Corning Gorilla Glass, the Eee Slate EP121 stands up to
the scuffs and scratches incurred from frequent travel or classroom use. Optical bonding
guards against condensation and sunlight reflection, ensuring readability in various
environments. Users can choose between 2GB RAM/32GB SSD or 4GB RAM/64GB SSD.
Solid State memory is a more durable storage solution. It does not have moving parts
and is less susceptible to physical shock, protecting users against loss of data.
Windows® 7 Home Premium
The Eee Slate runs Windows 7 Home Premium, which is compatible with programs most
students or traveling business professionals already use and are familiar with, so users
can get up and running quickly. Users do not have to spend time familiarizing
themselves with a new system and applications, as the Eee Slate supports the full
Microsoft Office suite, which includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other
applications. With Windows 7, a majority of devices, from cameras to printers, work with
the slate PCs. When working on multiple tasks at a time, users can arrange windows
side by side with Snap, view thumbnails and previews of open windows with Live
Taskbar Previews, and quickly access recent files with Jump lists. Windows Live Mesh
syncs among all of a user’s computers, granting users access to the latest version of a
file from anywhere so users can stay productive anywhere.
