VFACE User Manual
VFACE BASIC VFACE TOUCH
VFACE BASIC and VFACE TOUCH are basicly same hardware instead touch screen. All the functions and programming interfaces are same.
CONNECTION
Ethernet Port : Standart ethernet connection port.
INPUTS : 2 Digital Inputs. Need to contact with comman (C) port to trigger.
Input 1 (I1) – Closes all in door units, for emergency situation.
Input 2 (I2) – Search indoor units.
Port 1 : Can be used only for VRF connection.
Port 2 : Can be used for BMS (Modbus/KNX) or VRF connection.
You need to mention which brand of VRF and BMS port will be placed on VFACE when you order.
ATTENTION! Software is updated, interface and setup parameters has changed. Manual will be updated later.
FIRST SETUP
Be sure that you make all necessary connections before powering up device.
Default IP address: 192.168.2.100
Default Web port: 8080
All setup and parameters are being made via browser. Enter 192.168.2.100:8080 to your browser (prefer Chrome or Firefox browsers), login screen will show up.
Default user: superuser
Default password: astrum
You can also go to Settings Menu and change default IP address to desired IP address via Touch Screen.
VRF BRAND
Choose Brand: Select your VRF Brand
VRF Baudrate: Standart baudrate is 9600
NETWORK SETTINGS
IP Address: Enter reserved IP address of VFace (also set gateway, subnet and dns)
DHCP: Check DHCP if you want VFace will take IP address automatically
BMS SETTINGS
Channel Type: Select your BMS port function
Modbus: to access Modbus RTU via port
KNX: to Access KNX system via port
VRF: second VRF port if you need to control more than 64 indoor units
Cannel Baudrate: Baudrate of BMS port, only for Modbus communication
Modbus TCP Port: Modbus TCP port setting, default value is 1502
CH1 Indoor ID: Modbus device ID to access Indoor Units
CH1 Outdoor ID: Modbus device ID to access Outdoor Units
CH2 Indoor ID: Future Option (only for Advanced Users)
CH2 Outdoor ID: Future Option (only for Advanced Users)

SEARCH UNITS
Unit List: Found units will appear here with description of Indoor or Outdoor Unit
Search Unit: Press search unit button to search all indoor and outdoor units and add to list automatically.
Becareful this will delete all your previous sections, unit names and ids.
LICENSE
Version: Software version
Valid Status: Status of your Licence Valid or Not
Serial Number: Serial number of your VFace
Activation Key: Activation key of your VFace
License Key: License Key
If you want to use extra features of VFace such as Outdoor Unit information, KNX communication or VCloud you need to send us Serial Number and Activation Key. And we’ll produce a new License Key to your VFace.
USERS
Admin: Can access all indoor unit and outdoor units, can edit all settings
User: Can only access units of defined sections, works only as mobile interface
You can add users and define or edit sections with “+” button and you can delete user with “-“ button.
DEFINE UNITS
Indoor and Outdoor units will appear automatically at this page after searching units. Units will appear with their ID numbers. After that, for each unit you will need to select type, define name and assing to a section. Indoor and Outdoor units will be seperated from each other by type.

Add Section: You need to write a section name to “Add Section” text and press “+” button. You will see the new
section on combo box.
Delete Section: Choose the section you want to delete from combo box and press “-“ button. Assigned section names automatically will be changed if it’s deleted. You need to recheck.
Edit Section: Choose the section you want to edit from combo box, edit name from text box and press “+” to apply. Names will be changed automatically.
Becareful about order of adding section lists, later lists will be displayed by their order sequence.
Keep in mind that sections will be used for access for “User”, when define a user with limited access to indoor
units, you will use these sections.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Weekly schedule allows you to create rules which will be applied on selected dates and defined time. These can be on/off, mode, set temp and fan speed of an indoor unit or indoor units under a section.
Set Rule: Press "Set Rule" and choose the section or unit which you want to set a weekly schedule. Select on/off, mode, set, fan speed to apply, select days of week and enter time. Rule will be applied, every selected day of week and entered time.
Lock Mode: System will always apply the rule regardless of time option.
SetMod Lock: System will always apply the set temperature and mod of rule regardless of time option.
Remove: Press “Remove” button to delete rule.
For each rule only a section or a unit can be defined but you can add many rules for a section or unit.
KNX
Add Unit: Press “+” button and you’ll see a popup menu with indoor unit list. Choose the indoor unit which you
want to define group addresses.
Search: Type ID or Name of indoor unit which you want to find.
Delete: Press “-“ button to delete knx group addresses which is defined for an indoor unit.
You can control and get feedback from on/off, mode, set temperature, fan speed, room temperature, unit error code and swing via KNX for each indoor unit.
Broadcast function let’s you command multiple indoor units with a single group address. Above picture you can see an example.
You need to enter same group address to indoor units which you want to control simultaneously. There is no feedback information for broadcast, you can get feedback from every indoor unit seperetaly.
KNX is an optional feature, you need to order KNX module and apply new license to your VFace.
MODBUS (RTU/TCP)
Modbus settings are in “Settings” page. You need to set BMS settings, Channel Type as Modbus.
If you use Modbus RTU, you need to set your BMS system baudrate to Channel Baudrate. If you use Modbus TCP, default port is 1502, you can change to desired port.
Indoor and outdoor units are seperated by modbus device ID’s. Below example Modbus CH1 Indoor ID is 1 and Modbus CH1 Outdoor ID is 2 that so you may get all indoor units information from modbus device 1 and all outdoor units infromation from modbus device 2.
Modbus CH2 Indoor and Outdoor ID’s are feature option for advanced users. It’s not necesseary to use.
Modbus address table is generated automatically regarding indoor and outdoor units ID’s. You can calculate modbus address with our calcultaion tool.

Enter indoor unit ID to UID cell in hexadecimal number system, same as in VFace search results. Tool will Show modbus addresses automatically.
Modbus point and register types are shown in the table, you may check value cells to understand how to command these points.
INDOOR UNIT MONITORING
Indoor Monitoring page is the main page for controlling and monitoring indoor units. Predefined units will appear here with defined names under sections.
In the middle of screen you’ll see Units; which shows name, type, status, working mode and room temperature of every indoor unit.
Right side is Control box which let’s you send command to one or more indoor units. Such as on/off, mode, set temperature, fan speed and swing command.
If you want to send command to all units which in under a section, goto this section and check “Section” check box
and apply commands via control box.
If you want to send command to all units, no matter which section you are in, check “All Units” check box and apply
commands via control box.
In case of error in indoor units there will be a yellow sign on indoor unit and section of this unit.
And at the end of control box will appear error code. After removing this error, these sign will dissapear automatically.
Every VRF brand has its own error code list, you must take it as a reference.
MOBILE INTERFACE
Mobile interface has limited functions, it only allows User’s to access allowed indoor units by Admin and there is no allow for User’s to change settings. Allowed indoor units are selected in “Define Users” page by clicking “+” button.
Below you can see example of only 1. Floor is allowed for User.
Choose an indoor unit to control you will see mobile control box, click VFACE logo to go back.
