Chapter 2 Installation
This is a micro-ATX form factor (9.6” x 9.6”, 24.4 cm x 24.4 cm) motherboard. Before
you install the motherboard, study the cong uration of your chassis to ensure that t he
motherboard ts into it.
Make sure to unplug the power cord before installing or removing the mothe rboard . Failure
to do so may cause physical injuries to you and d amages to motherboard components.
2.1 Screw Holes
Place screws into the holes indicated by circles to secure the motherboard to the chassis.
Attention! Before installing this motherboard, be sure to unscrew and remove the standos
at the marked location, under the motherboard, from the chassis, in ord er to avoid electrical shor t circuit and damage to your motherboard.
Do not over-tighten the screws! Doing so may damage the motherboard.
2.2 Pre-installation Precautions
Take note of the following precautions before you install motherboard components or
change any motherboard settings.
1. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket before touching any components.
2. To avoid damaging the motherboard ’s components due to static electricity, NEVER
place your motherboard directly on the carpet or the like. Also remember to use a
grounded wrist strap or touch a safety grounded object before you handle the compo-
nents.
3. Hold components by the edges and do not touch the ICs.
4. Whenever you uninstall any component, place it on a grounded anti-static pad or in
the bag that comes with the component.
5. When placing screws into the screw holes to secure the motherboard to the chassis,
please do not over-tighten the screws! Doing so may damage the motherboard.
English
Before you install or remove any component, ensure that the power is switched o or the
power cord is detached f rom the power supply. Failure to do so may cau se severe damage to
the motherboard, peripherals, and/or components.

2.4 Installing the CPU Fan and Heatsink
Aer you install the CPU into this motherboard, it is necessary to install a larger
heatsink and cooling fan to dissipate heat. You also need to spray thermal grease
between the CPU and the heatsink to improve heat dissipation. Make sure that the
CPU and the heatsink are securely fastened and in good contact with each other.
Please be aware of the maximum dimen sions of the heatsink to be used is 116 * 83.65mm.
Please turn o the power or remove the power cord before changing a CPU or heat sink.

2.5 Installing Memory Modules (DIMM)
is motherboard provides four 288-pin DDR4 (Double Data Rate 4) DIMM slots,
and supports Dual Channel Memory Technology.
1. For dual channel conguration, you always need to install ide ntical (the same
brand, speed , size and chip-type) DDR4 DIMM pairs.
2. It is unable to activate Dual C hannel Memory Technology with only one or three
memory module installed.
3. It is not allowed to install a DDR , DDR2 or DDR3 memor y module into a DDR4
slot; otherwise, this mothe rboard and DIMM may be damaged.
