1.0 Note

Prior to unpacking and installation, please read the operating instructions and follow them carefully.
These units are to be used, serviced, and repaired only by individuals who are familiar with the
operating instructions and the applicable regulati ons for operational safety and accident prevention.

2.0 Intended Use

The plug-in display unit model AUF is a universally applicable, on-site display unit for a variety of
measuring transducers. The measuring transducer is merely required to have an analog output and a
plug-type connection in accordance with DIN 43 650. The plugin display unit is simply attached
between plug and socket and is immediately ready for operation. Scale, the position of the decimal point,
attenuation, and the operating position (option) are adjusted with two keys (upon removal of the cover).
The individual menu steps ar e displayed on the LED display . The di splay rotates by 90°.

3.0 Control of Units

The units are checked before shipment and shipped in good condition. If you detect a visible defect on
the unit, we recommend that you carefully check the packing material. In the event of a defect, please
notify the mail service/fre ight forwarder, as the shipper is responsible for sh ipping damage.

4.0 Mechanical Connection

The plug-in display unit is simply connected between plug and socket and is immediately ready for
operation. Please be sure to nstall the provided gasket between the sensing instrument connector and
the AUF. The attachment scr ew must be replaced by t he longer s cr ew included in the shipment.

5.0 Electrical Connection

Attach the plug-in display unit as shown

+V Supply............PIN 1

-V Supply.............PIN 2

Switch outlet.........PIN 3

For units with Open Colle ctor output,
connect PIN 2 and PIN 3.

6.1 Decimal Point

6.3 Range (value to be displ ayed at 20 mA)

6.4 Attenuation

Press B key until F I L t is displayed

6.5 Range Exceeded (dis played if below 4 mA or abov e 20 m A)

Display: “HI”=>range exceeded or “L0”=>below range
Press B key until H I L 0 is displayed

=>B or A for up or down: - 0 n - displ ay active
=>A+B to confirm setting and r et ur n t o menu item H I L 0
Report - h I - = measuring r ange exceeded, - L 0 - = below measuring range
Please note: If H I L 0 display is inactive, measuring range ex ceeded (-1999 to 9999) is indicated by
“E r 0 6”

6.6 Operating Position (O pt ion)

=>B or A for up or down: 2 0.0 0 (20 psig)
=>A+B to confirm setting and return to menu item - S P t
Please note: Standard hys t er esi s is the set point minus 3 digits
Upon customer request, t he hysteresis is adjustabl e at t he plant as per request
