Isolated Ground Devices
Isolating the grounding circuit from harmonic distortion is an efficient and economical way to protect sensitive electronics from operational degradation, disruption, or damage. Cooper Wiring Devices has responded to the growing reliance on clean power systems with a sophisticated selection of isolated ground devices. Our line includes products that cover a wide range of applications – hospital grade, industrial and commercial specification grade straight blade and locking receptacles, transient voltage surge suppressors, and compatible plugs and pre-marked wallplates. All are built for heavy duty, designed for easy installation, and manufactured to provide users with years of dependable electrical and electronic performance.
L
Selecting the right grounding system and wiring devices – ones that completely isolate the grounding circuit from the transient signals that can be created by other ‘‘noise’’ producing sources – will provide protection for your equipment and information needs.

Isolated Ground Receptacle
Grounding contacts are bonded directly to the service entrance grounding system. In the illustration the insulating barrier (A) isolates the grounding contacts (B) from the mounting strap (C). The insulated grounding conductor (D) is bonded to the service entrance grounding system
How Isolated Ground is Different
A conventional receptacle is grounded to the building grounding system at the receptacle. When mounted in the box, grounding contacts are connected to the box, fittings, conduit and all other building ground system components which can act as a large antenna for EMI and RFI.

All terminal (H-N-G) and mounting
screws nickel-plated, triple combination (slot/Phillips/Robertson) head for superior corrosion resistance and maximum installer flexibility.
Long, broad mounting strap helps reach
large panel cutouts for Code compliance.
Automatic grounding system eliminates
need for bonding jumper in grounded metal enclosure, provides redundant measure of ground continuity where jumper used.
Screw-Catch™ feature on duplex
devices speeds mounting of wallplates.
FEATURES
Exclusive 5-leaf brass line contacts ensure
lowest heat rise, smooth plug blade insertion and long-term retention.
Rigid, glass reinforced nylon base lends ultimate
strength and superior high heat resistance in contact carrier.
Unique screw terminal guards provide fast,
easy insulation from conductive surfaces.
Exclusive 0.030" (0.76mm) solid brass, non-
riveted, integral one-piece isolated grounding shunt system assures ground integrity under heaviest use – isolated from common building ground.
High impact and chemical-resistant nylon face.
Tapered lead-in slots on back wiring holes assist
in gathering stranded wires for faster, more secure connections.
