ABSORBER REPLACEMENT

Proper installation is essential to experience and appreciate the benefits of this system. Please
take a moment to review these installation instructions before you begin to install these
components on your vehicle.
It is equally important to be aware of all necessary safety measures while installing your new Air
Suspension System. This includes proper lifting and immobilizing of the vehicle and isolation of
any stored energy to prevent personal injury or property damage.

WARNING: Before disassembling the front suspension refer to the
vehicle remanufacturer’s Service Manual for proper procedures. The coil spring is
preloaded and must be compressed with a spring compressor to release the load
before the upper mount is disassembled. Failure to follow the manufacturer’s
procedure may cause serious injury or death, and may damage the vehicle.

*Removal and installation is only to be performed by full qualified personnel.
*CAUTION: Damage to the vehicle and shock assembly can be incurred if work is
carried out in a manner other than specified in the instructions or in a different
sequence.
Always use a chassis hoist for the installation of Arnott Inc. products and make
certain that the raised vehicle is securely attached to the hoist and /or supported
to prevent the vehicle from slipping, falling or moving during the installation
process.

ABSORBER REPLACEMENT
The ignition must remain switched off during the shock removal and replacement.
1.0 Set steering to straight ahead.
Use lifting platform (hoist) that is capable of raising the body separately from the
wheels, lift body at the lifting points prescribed by the vehicle manufacturer.
Vehicle slippage can cause danger to life and limb.
2.0 Raise vehicle.
3.0 Remove front tire(s).
4.0 Unplug the shock sensor connector at the top of the shock.
5.0 Disassemble the front shock/coil spring according to the manufacturer’s
procedures.
6.0 Remove the OEM spring seat from the original shock absorber (will be re-used).
7.0 Install the OEM spring seat (MAKE SURE THAT THE FLANGED END OF THE
SPRING SEAT IS DOW N ( FIGURE 2.0 ) and bump stop cap onto the new shock
absorber.

8.0 Install OEM coil spring and all OEM upper mount parts including bump stop and
upper spring hat in their original positions.
9.0 Install new flange nut on the shock absorber top mount pin, tighten to
manufactures specifications.
10.0 Install new flange nuts on lower T-Bar mount, tighten manufactur es
specifications.

11.0 Re-install front tire(s). Torq ue fr ont w heel s t o manufactures specifica ti ons.
12.0 Check and adjust vehicle front-end ali g nmen t after installation.
13.0 Installation complete.
FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER SENSOR INSTALLATION:

1.0 Locate the damping sensor lead.
2.0 Disconnect the angle adapter that connected the shock to the sensor lead.
3.0 Connect the supplied coil as shown in Figure 1.
4.0 Secure the coil and harness in a way not to interfere with any moving parts
or components with excessive heat.
