2000-2010 GM – Large SUV Air Shoc k Conversion
Air Shock Replacement
WARNING: The air su spension sys tem is u nder pr essure (up to 10
bar, or 150 lb f/sq. in). Do n ot allow dirt or grea se to enter t he
system. Always wear standar d prote cve hand, e ar, and eye
protec on when ser vicing t he air suspen sion system .
Removal
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist or with proper liing equipment.
Suspension must be at full rebound with no load.
WARNING: Alw ays suppor t the ch assis on safety st ands. Refer to
your vehicle’s Owne r’s Man ual for correc t liing instr ucons.
2. Remove both rear res.
3. Deflate both rear air shocks by disconnecng t
leading from the compressor a
4. Using a floor jack, slightly raise the rear axle to relieve the
pressure from the upper and lower shock bolts.
5. Disconnect dampening sensor lead.
6. Loosen and rem
ove the upper and lower shock bolts.
7. Carefully remove the old shock absorber from t
suspe
nsion.
Installaon
1. Install the shock absorber’s retaining nuts and bolts to the
real axle. Tighten the shock absorber’s retaining nuts and
bolts to manufactures specifications.
2. Reaach dampening sensor lead.
3. Remove rear axle support.
4. Replace both rear re
to manufacture specifications. Remove all
ssembly to the rear air shocks.
