Long Range Infrared Illuminators

USER’S MANUAL

PURPOSE

Infrared illuminators are used in areas where the level of light level is not sucient for surveillance. An IR
illuminator provides infrared light which, although invisible to the naked eye, can greatly enhance the
performance of night vision devices. Turn on the IR illuminator when working in total darkness. Please
remember that the beam emitted by your IR illuminator will lose its brightness over long distances.

CAUTION :

Do not forget that light emitted from the IR illuminator light is invisible to the naked eye; how­ever, it can be easily detected when using night vision devices.

IR IllUMINATOR INSTAllATION

The IR810/IR850/IR940/IR810W/IR850W are the removable devices that can be installed on the rail of
night vision device (NVD). To install the IR illuminator on your NVD, perform the following steps:

1) Install the Picatinny adapter on the rail of your NVD (if Picatinny rail not installed on your NVD).

2) Loosen the xing screw on the IR illuminator mount.

3) Place the IR illuminator on the Picatinny rail.

4) Tighten the xing screw.

BATTERY INSTAllATION

CAUTION :

Ensure that the IR illuminator is o before installing the battery.

The Armasight IR illuminators runs on one CR123A battery. Install the battery as follows:

1) Unscrew the battery cap.

2) Install the battery into the battery compartment. Align the plus sign on the battery with the plus
sign on the cap face.

3) Replace the battery cap.

IR IllUMINATOR OPERATION

CAUTION :

Device is equipped with an infrared LED which is nit hazardous to human health. However do not
point the IR illuminator at eyes.

To switch the IR ON, rotate the operation switch from the OFF position.
The power of the beam emitted by the IR illuminator can be changed. To change the brightness of

the beam, rotate the illuminator operation switch. The positions of brightness levels are marked on
the back side of cap with dots of a dierent size, respectively to four dierent radiation output power
levels.

You can change the eld of coverage by adjusting the IR beam.
To focus the beam, rotate the IR illuminator lens until the de­sired eld of coverage is reached.

Adjust the IR spot position in the eld of view of the NVD as
follows:

1) Loosen the screw of the clamp on the IR illuminator mount.

2) Turn on the sight and the IR illuminator.

3) Carefully move the lens of the IR810/IR850 up and down and
side to side. While looking through the eyepieces of your de­vice, observe the IR spot position.

4) Once the IR spot is centered in the eld of view, tighten the
xing screw of the clamp.
