Decorative Safety Grab Bar
Installation Manual
EASY INSTALLATION
According to different styles of Decorative Safety Grab Bar you purchased, locate an appropriate
position in bathroom with sufficient space on wall. The safety grab bar can be installed horizontally, vertically, or at an angle
based on your need.
1) Use a stud sensor to locate the wall studs.
2) Hold the decorative grab bar at the desired location on wall. Lift up the
wall flange on each mounting post and mark the mounting screw locations
on wall through the screw holes on both end mounting plates of grab bar.
(Above style for reference only)
Ensure stud location to secure mounting. At least 2 screws must be anchored
into a stud at each end for proper performance. Use heavy duty wall toggles/molly
when drilling into substrate with no studs. (see installation recommendations below)
3) Take away the decorative grab bar. Drill holes at the marked screw hole locations
on wall. (Use a special tipped drill bit if drilling through tile/marble.)
4) Then push the plastic anchors provided into the holes on wall until flush with wall.
Mount the decorative grab bar to the wall with the mounting screws provided.
After mounting is completed, slide back the wall flange over the mounting plate
of grab bar and twist slightly to secure it in place.
For Wall with Wood Studs :
Position decorative grab bar on wall with mounting plates desirably at wood studs location. Drill 5/32” holes into studs or
backing of wall for each end of safety grab bar according to the marked screw hole position of each mounting plate.
Use stud sensor to locate stud. Install mounting plates with #10 stainless steel screws (provided).
Important : Mounting to a secure stud ensures weight limit to be in compliance with American Disability Acts (ADA) and
Safety recommendations.
* When wood studs are not available at the desired location, a grab bar fastening system is recommended to meet ADA
and Safety requirements. (not included, available at most hardware / home centers)
For Dry Wall (no studs) :
Drill 1/2” holes according to the marked screw holes position of each mounting plate. Then, install mounting plates with
3/16” x 3” toggle bolts (not included) for each mounting plate, or special grab bar fastening system. (not included,
available at most hardware / home centers)
For Tile Wall :
Use a stud sensor to locate the wall studs. On ceramic tiles, try to locate screw hole(s) on grout line on a marked stud.
If mounting on tile surface, use masking tape to mark & to prevent sliding during drilling. Drill hole with 1/4” glass drill
bit according to the marked screw holes position of each mounting plate. Install #10 plastic anchors, and mount with #10
stainless steel screws (provided) for each mounting plate.

*When wood studs are not available at the desired location, a grab bar fastening system is recommended to meet ADA and
Safety requirements. (not included, available at most hardware / home centers)
Important
: To check if decorative grab bar is securely mounted after assembly, pull the grab bar outward and push downward. If loose or not
mounted properly, unscrew the grab bar and re-adjust the mounting location with better support on wall.
: Decorative grab bar should only be installed on area of wall structurally sound as suggested above. If you are not sure, consult with a
qualified contractor. Do not install on shower enclosure with insufficient construction strength.
