IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES FOR POOL USE
ATTENTION: YOU MUST READ THESE SAFETY RULES PRIOR TO USING POOL!
1. It is the pool ownerʼs responsibility to COMPLY WITH ALL LOCAL AND STATE POOL
SAFETY LAWS PRIOR to setting up the pool. Such laws include, but are not limited to those
on: fences/barriers, pool covers, pool ladders, lighting, and required safety equipment.
2. This pool was designed exclusively for outdoor use. NEVER SET-UP YOUR POOL INDOORS
(not even in a basement or shed). Set-up location must be extremely flat and level and must be at
least 20 feet / 6 meters away from a house /basement. This precaution will help prevent property
damage in the unlikely event of a natural disaster or rupture in the pool.
3. NEVER INSTALL YOUR POOL ON A HANGING BALCONY, ROOF, OR ANY TYPE OF
WOOD DECK OR RAISED PLATFORM. Even small Simple-Set
once filled with water. Failure to follow this warning may result in severe property damage
and/or serious personal injury if your deck or platform collapses underneath your pool.
4. DO NOT USE A WATER TRUCK OR SERVICE to fill this type of pool. Water dispensed from
a tanker enters the pool at very high pressure and may seriously damage the poolʼs seams and/or
prevent the bottom of the pool from being smoothed out during the fill-up process.
5. DO NOT USE SAND as a leveling agent in the installation process. Sand may shift under the
weight of your pool, potentially causing it to collapse and/or cause personal injury to pool
occupants. The surface underneath the pool must be firm and solid.
®
pools are extremely heavy
6. YOU MUST USE POOL CHEMICALS to keep your pool water sanitary and safe for
swimming. DANGER: Exercise extreme caution when handling chemicals or applying them to
your pool. Always explicitly follow the chemical manufacturerʼs directions. NEVER add any
chemicals to the water when swimmers are in the pool.
7. NEVER OPERATE THE FILTER PUMP WHILE SWIMMERS ARE IN THE POOL.
Failure to obey this rule may increase the risk of electrical shock to those in and around pool.
8. NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED in or around the pool. Make sure a responsible
adult is supervising children and non-swimmers AT ALL TIMES. Do not swim at night unless
the pool area is sufficiently well lit.
9. NEVER ALLOW DIVING, JUMPING OR HORSEPLAY in or around the pool and pump area.
Serious injury or death could result. In order to reduce risk of choking, do not allow swimmers
to eat, drink or chew anything while bathing in the pool.
10.ALWAYS maintain the proper pool safety equipment and emergency contact numbers in an
easily accessible area near your pool.
11.DO NOT ALLOW FISH OR ANY OTHER ANIMALS IN POOL. This pool was not designed
for use as an aquarium or holding pen for marine life, even on a temporary basis. Furthermore,
to avoid potential damage to your pool from claws / teeth, do not allow any pets in or near the
pool.
12. CAUTION: All related pool equipment and accessories, including the pool liner, inflatable ring,
hoses & hose clamps, drain covers, pump body, (if included: covers, ground cloth, ladders,
maintenance kit) and electrical cords should be inspected frequently for signs of corrosion,
deterioration, missing or broken parts, exposed metal, or other potential hazard.

SIMPLE-SET® POOL- SET
UP INST
RUCTIONS
ATTENTION: DO NOT PROCEED UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETELY
READ THE SAFETY RULES ON PAGE 4.
1. SITE SELECTION
Proper site selection is the most critical part of the installation process. Make sure that
your chosen area strictly conforms to the following guidelines. The set-up area must be:
A. Firm, flat (no bumps or mounds of earth) and level. WARNING: Failure to install the
pool on a firm, level surface may cause the pool to leak, bulge, or even collapse,
resulting in property damage or serious injury for those in or near the pool! If you must
level out an uneven set-up area, it is preferable to dig out excess earth, boulders, etc.
from the higher side. Once the excess earth has been removed, tamp down the whole
area to ensure levelness. Remember NOT TO USE SAND
with this type of pool.
B. Completely free of sticks, stones, blacktop, oil-based residues, sharp objects, and
aggressive grass, plant and weed species. NOTE: Aqua-Leisure will not be held
responsible for damage caused by aggressive grasses or weeds that grow up through
the pool.
C. Not directly underneath overhead power lines or trees, nor atop any underground utility
cables, pipes, or lines of any kind. CAUTION: The pool must be accessible to a 110-volt
AC outlet protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI), and should be set no
closer than 10 ft / 3m to the power source.
Additional helpful tip: Choosing a set-up area exposed to direct sunlight will warm your pool
more quickly and keep it warmer throughout the season.
P.5
2. POOL SET-UP
A. If time permits, completely unroll your pool and expose it to direct sunlight for an hour
or more. This will make the pool material more flexible during set-up.
B. If your pool system contains a ground cloth, carefully unfold it and spread out as evenly
as possible over set-up area.
WARNING: Use of a ground cloth is REQUIRED when the pool is set up on concrete. (If a
ground cloth is not a standard feature in your pool system, you may purchase one as an
accessory. Please check with your local retailer for availability.)
C. Place the pool over the ground cloth (if applicable) so that the hose fixtures on the pool
point towards the GFCI outlet you will use to power your filter pump. CAUTION:
NEVER DRAG THE POOL AS THIS WILL DAMAGE IT.
D. Carefully unfold the pool, if you have not already done so, spread out the sides and the
floor of the pool to make them as smooth as possible.
E. Inflate the top ring using either a manual air pump or an electric pump on a low pressure
setting. Keep the ring centered in the middle of the pool. VERY IMPORTANT: The top
ring should only be filled to 85% of capacity (The ring will form a prefect circle and will
be moderately firm to the touch with a squeeze of your hand). DO NOT over-inflate as
this may damage the ring or cause it to burst.
F. Close and secure the three openings in the pool (the drain valve and the two fixtures for
attaching filter pump hoses.) First, make sure that the outer drain plug is inserted into the
drain valve and that the outer drain cap is screwed on tightly.
caps inside the pool, and firmly press them into the wall until they snap closed over their
openings. Note: Make sure to keep the “bullet” shaped plastic drain adapter (located in
the patch kit) in a safe location in order to drain your pool at the end of the swim season.
* Then locate the attached
*If your pool system came with 2 strainer and plunger valve assemblies (Model # P2000),
please refer to pages 8 and 9 of this manual for instructions on installing them at this time.
P.6
G. Fill the pool with no more than 1 inch of water. Then smooth out any wrinkles or creases
in the floor by physically entering the pool and pushing out the area where the pool floor
meets the pool walls. A secondary method (from outside of the pool) is to reach under the
pool wall, grasp the pool floor, and pull outward.
H. Once you have removed all wrinkles in the floor, continue filling the pool. The pool
walls will rise as the water level rises. AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION,
ALLOW BATHERS IN THE POOL UNTIL FILL-UP IS COMPLETE.
DO NOT
I. During fill-up, inspect the pool frequently to verify it is filling evenly. IMPORTANT: If you notice water collecting unevenly or excessive sloping to one side, STOP
FILLING THE POOL IMMEDIATELY.
enough, or that the wrinkles in the floor have not been properly smoothed out. If this
occurs, completely drain the pool (See section 6 in this manual) and then carefully
CARRY it to a more suitable site.
J. Continue to fill pool until the water level has reached the BOTTOM of the inflatable ring, and the pool walls are smooth and firm.
higher than this point, as this may cause the pool to become unstable or collapse.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not be alarmed if the outer walls of your pool appear to be wet,
as some “sweating” (appearance of condensation droplets on the pool) may initially occur after
set-up is complete, especially in cooler climates. This process is completely normal for this
type of pool and does not indicate any leakage. When sweating does occur it generally stops
within 72 hours of filling the pool.
This indicates that the ground is not level
NEVER allow the water level to rise
3. CONNECTING THE FILTER PUMP TO YOUR POOL
At this time, please refer to the detailed instruction manual enclosed in the filter pump box. If
your pool system comes with pump model number SA-3768, please also refer to the strainer
& plunger valve installation instructions on the following two pages of this manual.
Note: See drawings A & B on the following page for reference.
The Aqua

. Before assembly lubricate the threads with a petroleum jelly.
If your Simple-Set® pool system includes a ladder, please refer to the detailed assembly
instructions enclosed in the ladder box.
Note: For your convenience and enjoyment, all Simple-Set® pool systems measuring 12ʼx 36”
or larger include a durable, easy-to-assemble ladder. For Simple-Set® systems that do not
include a ladder as standard equipment (generally pools measuring 12ʼx 30” or smaller), our
2-step ladder, Model # SA-3796 may be purchased as a separate accessory from many retailers.
P.9
5. IN-SEASON POOL MAINTENANCE & WATER CARE
Keep your pool water clean, hygienic, and safe for swimming by strictly following all of the guidelines below:
A. THE USE OF CHEMICALS (SUCH AS CHLORINE, PH STABILIZER, and ALGECIDE, ETC)
IS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE PROPER CHLORINE AND pH BALANCE IN YOUR
POOL WATER AND TO PREVENT THE GROWTH OF HARMFUL BACTERIA OR ALGAE.
For specific details on the use of chemicals, please provide a local pool supply retailer with the water capacity of your
pool (reference chart on inside flap of your pool box) and, if possible, bring them a sample of your water. They will identify
the appropriate chemicals for your needs and educate you on their safe and effective use. NOTE FOR THOSE USING WELL WATER IN POOL: It is strongly recommended that you have a water sample analyzed by a pool expert before
adding any chemicals.
B. Chlorinate your pool by dissolving granular or tabulated chlorine into a bucket of water and then
slowly and evenly distributing the chlorine solution into the pool. You can also use liquid chlorine
or a floating chlorinator. If you do use a chlorinator, make sure it floats properly on the surface or
that it is tied securely. NEVER drop clumps or tablets of chlorine (or any other chemical) directly
into your pool. This may present a hazard to swimmers and/or damage your pool. DO NOT drop
chlorine tabs directly into your filter pump as they will not dissolve properly and may damage your
pump.
C. Use a test kit to frequently monitor the pH and chlorine levels in your pool. A suitable test kit can
generally be purchased anywhere pools are sold.
levels can damage your pool liner. If testing reveals either condition, you should quickly take
corrective action. Consult a qualified pool professional, retailer, or chemicals manufacturer for
details on chemicals.
NOTE: High chlorine levels or low (acidic) pH
D. Simplify the removal of larger debris and sedimentation from your pool by using a Simple-Set®
Maintenance Kit. The kit includes a leaf skimmer and garden hose powered vacuum, and can be
purchased as an accessory through many retailers. For your convenience, it is also included with
many larger-size pools as a bonus item.
E. Inspect your filter-pump cartridge at least once a week and rinse it off with a strong blast of
water if necessary. When this method does not satisfactorily clean the filter cartridge, replace it
with a new one.
NOTE: Improper filter cartridge maintenance will reduce the effectiveness of your
filter pump and could shorten its useful life.
F. Tips to help prevent dirt and grime from getting into your pool:
1) Remind bathers to always rinse their bodies of any dirt, grime or tanning oil prior to entering the
pool.
2) Keeping your pool covered at all times when it is not in use is highly recommended. This will
help prevent wind and other elements from depositing dirt and debris in your pool.
6. DRAINING & STORING YOUR POOL
IMPORTANT: NEVER leave the pool exposed to temperatures of 40 F/ 5C or below, as this will ruin it. If the pool cannot be
used year-round, you should STORE it as soon as the swimming season ends, and always well in advance of sustained cold or
inclement weather.
STEP 1-Draining your Pool:
A.
Make sure your filter pump cord is unplugged.
B.
Securely close both pump fixtures with the plugs attached to the inner pool wall. Then disconnect
the filter pump hoses.
C.
Enter your pool and verify that the rubber drain plug is still securely inside the drain valve.
D.
Attach your hose adapter to the female end of a garden hose. Place the other end of the hose in an
area safe for water drainage, such as a storm drain or street gutter.
P.10
E. Unscrew the outside drain cap. Take the end of your garden hose with the adapter attached and screw it
on the drain valve until it is securely fastened. This action will push the rubber drain plug out into the
pool and allow water to drain immediately through the hose. NOTE: If the water is not draining
properly, step inside the pool and verify that the inner attached cap of your drain valve is not blocking
the flow of water.
G. You will notice that an inch or two (5 cm) of residual water will remain in the pool below the level of
the drain plug. This water can be bailed out by hand, can be suctioned out with a wet-vac, or can be
soaked up with rags, towels or a mop.
H. Once you have completed draining the pool, disconnect the hose and hose adapter and reseal the
attached drain plug on the inside of the pool. Save the adapter in a safe place for future use.
Step 2 – Cleaning and Storing your Pool:
A. At this point, we strongly recommend scrubbing the pool liner thoroughly with a mild household soap
(such as dishwashing liquid) and a sponge or soft pool brush. Then rinse the pool clean with a strong
blast of water from your garden hose. NOTE: Remove any residual odor coming from the pool bottom
by scrubbing the area gently with a mild household detergent or an odor removal product approved for
use on vinyl surfaces/pool liners.
B. Towel-dry the pool thoroughly and then spread out the pool completely to air dry it. NEVER fold or
stow a pool that is not completely dry as this could lead to mold or mildew growth. TIP: Expose the
pool to direct sunlight for several hours to speed the drying process and make it easier to fold for
storage.
C. While the pool is air drying, it is a good time to clean and thoroughly dry all the other parts included
with your pool system. IMPORTANT: Make sure you remove the used filter cartridge from your filter
pump to prevent mold or mildew from developing inside the pump body during the off-season.
D. Carefully fold the pool and wrap it in a ground cloth or other protective tarp. The pool and any
accessories such as the pump, pool cover, ground cloth, ladder, hoses, clamps, and hardware should be
kept together and stored indoors, in a warm, dry location.
REMEMBER: It is ESSENTIAL to PROPERLY store your Simple-Set® pool and related accessories during
the off-season. Aqua Leisure will not be held responsible for pool damage resulting from improper pool
storage or from pools left exposed to the elements.
