Applications

• Classied areas where ignitable gases and vapors, dusts,

paint residue, paint powder, or corrosive atmospheres may be
present, or where excessive moisture is a problem.

• Approved for mounting directly inside a paint spray booth.
Complies with NEC 516-3(b) and NFPA No. 33.

• Typical applications include reneries, chemical and

petrochemical plants, textile mills, grain elevators and other
grain-processing facilities, pharmaceutical plants, and paint
spray areas.

Features

• Factory sealed xture. No external seals needed for
classied areas.

• Two lamp:
— Compact size

— Uses two single-ended biaxial 40 W uorescent lamps in a

xture only 29”/736.6 mm long

— Available for 120-277 V, 50/60 Hz
— Available for 120 V, 277 V, 347 V, 50/60 Hz 

• Four lamp:

— Uses four single-ended biaxial 40 W uorescent lamps

mounted tandem in a 1333.5 mm (52-1/2 in) long xture

— Available for 120-277 V, 50/60 Hz
— Available for 120 V, 277 V, 347 V, 50/60 Hz 

• Easy to install. Has three 19.1 mm (3/4) inconduit hubs on

each end of xture. Two close-up plugs per end are furnished.

Mounts straight down, or at 45° angle to either side. Can be
mounted horizontally, or mounted vertically on wall. Gasketed
end caps remove easily for wiring or relamping.

• Explosionproof, heat-resistant and impact-resistant glass
tubes protect lamps.

• Cool-operating uorescent lamps provide excellent color

rendition and high lumen output per watt. Average lamp life
is 20,000 hours. Lamps are furnished.

• Corrosion resistant.

• Reector (optional) is designed for efcient distribution.
Installs and removes using only a screwdriver.

• Appleton APL xtures are supplied with energy-saving Class

P ballasts, equipped with an automatic thermally activated
protective device.

Standard Materials

• End housing: copperfree (4/10 of 1% max.) aluminum

• Housing hood and optional reectors: heavy gauge aluminum

• Wire guard: stainless steel

Standard Finishes

• End housings and hood: two-coat baked gray epoxy nish

• Reector: white baked powder coat polyester reecting surface
