Apex141 – Low Profile Podium Mount Shotgun Condenser Microphone
Overview:
The Apex141 is a compact, small-diameter gooseneck podium microphone that offers flexible positioning
with a sleek, low-profile appearance. A uniform hypercardioid polar pattern delivers maximum off access
rejection for increased clarity. The integrated user switchable low-cut filter reduces pickup of lowfrequency ambient noise and rumble offering maximum intelligibility.
Features:
Ultra Low Profile Design
Hypercardioid Polar Pattern for Maximum Off Axis Noise Rejection
Rugged All Metal Housing
Integrated Switchable High Pass Filter
Flexible Integrated Gooseneck
Black Non-reflective Finish
Installation and Operation:
The Apex141 requires 9V to 52V phantom power for operation. Output is low impedance balanced. The
output connector mates with XLR-F cable connectors with the balanced signal appearing across Pins 2
and 3. Ground (shield) connection is Pin 1. Output is phased so that positive acoustic pressure produces
positive voltage at Pin 2, in accordance with industry convention.
The microphone is enclosed in a rugged housing with a low reflectance black finish. It features an XLR
Male connector insert at its base, allowing it to be plugged directly into any typical XLR-F panel jack or
microphone cable. It is advised that the Apex141 be installed using the optional Apex-PM podium
shockmount plate for maximum performance and to isolate microphone.
The provided foam windscreen simply slips over the element, effectively reducing wind noise and
“popping.” An integrated 100Hz high-pass filter provides easy switching from a flat frequency response to
a low-end roll-off. The roll-off position reduces the pickup of low-frequency ambient noise. To engage
the filter, use tip of a paperclip or other small pointed instrument to slide the switch to the roll-off position
(down).
