Proper service and repair is important to the safe, reliable operation of all AOC Company Equipment. The service
procedures recommended by AOC and described in this service manual are effective methods of performing service
operations. Some of these service operations require the use of tools specially designed for the purpose. The
special tools should be used when and as recommended.
It is important to note that this manual contains various CAUTIONS and NOTICES which should be carefully read in
order to minimize the risk of personal injury to service personnel. The possibility exists that improper service
methods may damage the equipment. It is also important to understand that these CAUTIONS and NOTICES ARE
NOT EXHAUSTIVE. AOC could not possibly know, evaluate and advise the service trade of all conceivable ways in
which service might be done or of the possible hazardous consequences of each way. Consequently, AOC has not
undertaken any such broad evaluation. Accordingly, a servicer who uses a service procedure or tool which is not
recommended by AOC must first satisfy himself thoroughly that neither his safety nor the safe operation of the
equipment will be jeopardized by the service method selected.
Hereafter throughout this manual, AOC Company will be referred to as AOC.

Take care during handling the LCD module with backlight unit
¾ Must mount the module using mounting holes arranged in four corners.
¾ Do not press on the panel, edge of the frame strongly or electric shock as this will result in damage to the screen.
¾ Do not scratch or press on the panel with any sharp objects, such as pencil or pen as this may result in damage
to the panel.
¾ Protect the module from the ESD as it may damage the electronic circuit (C-MOS).
¾ Make certain that treatment person’s body is grounded through wristband.
¾ Do not leave the module in high temperature and in areas of high humidity for a long time.
¾ Avoid contact with water as it may a short circuit within the module.
¾ If the surface of panel becomes dirty, please wipe it off with a soft material. (Cleaning with a dirty or rough cloth
may damage the panel.)

: Once your equipment is connected, follow this procedure to select the input signal: Press the SOURCE button
to select the desired input. Before connecting any peripheral to the TV unplug the power cables.

Change the zoom mode.
FREEZE
Freeze the picture on the screen.

This allows changes between

2.4 Instructions for Use
2.4.1 Using Menu
1. Press the MENU button for the main menu.
2. Use the navigation ring to select a menu item and enter the
submenu.
3. Press the central button for OK and to enable or disable the
function.
4. Press the MENU or EXIT button to leave the menu.
Colored keys: Red, blue, yellow and green.
2.4.2 First Adjustments
¾ Welcome Initial Setup
This is the first menu displayed. This allows the user to start channel installation before accessing other TV functions.
The user can choose the TV signal source: Antenna or Cable. The user may leave these screens by pressing the
SOURCE key in order to select the desired input source. When the device is turned on, the source selected is TV
and the channel list is empty, these screens will always be displayed.

¾ Main Menu
This is the TV main menu. It allows the user to choose from the options: Channels, Picture, Sound, Parental,
Settings and Media.
Note: If the user attempts to access the Media menu using a non-USB source, the user will be informed that this is
not possible with the current source input.
¾ Picture Menu
The Picture menu in most selection modes is shown below. It provides several items for the adjustment of video.
Picture Mode: Developed for different types of video mode. Select Standard, Cinema, Vivid, Mild, Sport, Game and
Personal mode. It is only possible to make adjustments in Personal mode.
1. Brightness: Adjust luminance of video, use only when
Picture Mode is Personal. Brightness adjustment is from
0~100.
2. Contrast: Adjust contrast of video, use only when Picture
Mode is Personal. Contrast adjustment is from 0~100.
3. Color: Adjust color, use only when Image Mode is
Personal. Color adjustment is from 0~100.
4. Hue: Adjust hue level. This can only be selected with NTSC. Color adjustment is from -50~+50.
5. Sharpness: Adjust video sharpness. Sharpness adjustment is from 0~100.
6. Backlight: Adjust the luminance of the backlight. The adjustment is from 0~100.
7. Color Temperature: There are three user selectable options for color temperature - warm, normal and cool.
Picture Restoration: Allows the restoration of all picture adjustments to their default values. Press the red button on
your remote control.
¾ Sound Menu
The Sound menu in TV mode is shown below.

Sound Mode: Developed for different types of sound mode. Select Standard, Voice, Music, Movie, Theatre and
Personal mode. It is only possible to make adjustments in Personal mode.
1. Balance: Balance adjustment is from -50 ~50.
2. Bass: Can only be adjusted in Personal mode.
Bass adjustment is from 0 ~100.
3. Treble: Can only be adjusted in Personal mode.
Treble adjustment is from 0 ~100.
Sound Restoration: Allows the restoration of personal
mode settings to their default values. Press the red
button on your remote control.
¾ Channel Menu
The Channel menu in TV mode is shown below.

however, if a channel does not have a digital signal, it will be displayed as analog. Therefore, these analog channels
will only be displayed if the corresponding digital channel is not available.
1. Select Favorites: select the channel you want and press the red button of the remote control. The channel will

remote control.
3. Block Channel: select the channel you wish to block and press the yellow button on the remote control. The
channel will display
4. Delete Channel: press the blue button to remove the undesired channel.

next to the number. It is possible to choose two block modes: Always and Never.
Warning: Some of these functions are password
protected. To access them, you need to enter the
correct password in the TV menu (the default
password is 0000).

¾ Channel Block Modes
1. Always: block the selected the channel until the user unblocks it again.
2. Never: Unblock the selected channel. The block icon will be removed from the channel number.
¾ Parental
This allows parent to restrict access to TV program by recommended age. For instance: if 12 years old is selected,
only programs allowed for this age will be accessible, all other will be blocked. If the 10 value is selected only ratings
free programs are accessible.
The values available are: None, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 years old. To access and set this option, the password is
required. This option is available for the TV source, but it only works with digital TV channels.
Note: All programs work only after exiting the menu.
¾ Media Menu
In Media mode it is possible to import images and MP3
data through the USB port from a flash pen drive, or an
external Hard Disk, turning the TV into a MP3 player or a
picture slideshow viewer without the need for peripherals
such as cameras, DVD players, etc.
When inserting the USB device, this warning will be
displayed.
Using the red button of the remote control you can
access the media center and navigate amongst the
folders and files to choose those you want.

¾ Setting Menu
The Setting menu in TV mode includes the options: General, Channels, Sound, Display and PC.
1. Adjust Date and Time: Select this option to update date and
time.
2. Change Password: Allows the password to be changed.
The factory default password is (0000), to change this it is
necessary to enter the password using the remote control
and then enter a new 4 digit password. Memorize this new
password, it will allow access to several operations on the
TV menus.
3. Color System: can be adjusted to AUTO, PALM, PALN,
NTSC. We recommend the automatic setting because the
color system of each channel is detected when the channels
are scanned.
4. Auto Power off: When Auto Power off is off, the model will
not auto power off without signal; While Auto Power off is on,
the model will auto power off even without signal.
5. MEMC Compensation: When MEMC is on, the dynamic
picture will be much more clear and fluent, better than
normal picture effect, so that the streaking of the Previous
frame Picture will be clarified, the dynamic sharpness of
picture will be enhanced, and the streaking will be decreased
to be acceptable; When MEMC is DEMO, a white vertical
line will be in the middle of the screen; the left side of line will
be MEMC Compensation, and the right side of line will be no
MEMC; When MEMC is off , there is no MEMC. There are
differences in different sources: 1. Under USB source,
MEMC is off, and compensation can not be chosen; 2. Under
PC Source, MEMC has four options:
OFF/ON/DEMO/BYPASS. When is on OFF/ BYPASS,
Compensation can not be chosen, while is ON/DEMO,
Compensation has three options: MILD / MEDIUM /
STRONG; 3. Under other sources, MEMC has three options:
OFF/ON/DEMO. When is on OFF, Compensation can not be
chosen; while is ON/DEMO, Compensation has three
options: MILD/MEDIUM/STRONG;
6. Sleep: To set the time the TV will automatically turn
off .Press the key successively to select 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60,
1. Tuner Mode: Select TV sign mode (cable or antenna).
2. Update: Performs a new scan and search for new available channels and updates the information.
3. Reinstall: Reinstall all available channels during the scanning.
4. Services Navigation: Allows changes between channel services using CH+/CH- keys, e.g. primary channels.
The default value is off. This option is available only for digital channels.

1. SRS/TRU Surround: Allows the user to activate/deactivate this sound system. The default option is on.
2. CC On Mute: Allows the choice for Closed Caption mode to be automatically displayed whenever the TV is on
mute. The default option is on.
3. Mute When Earphone: This option allows the choice for TV speakers to be muted (or not) when the Earphones
are connected. The default option is Mute.
1. Language: Allows the choice of screen menu language: English, Portuguese (default) or Spanish.
2. Exhibition Time: Defines screen menu display time. The times available are: 5, 10, 15 (default) or 30 seconds.
3. Blue Screen: Enables or disables Blue Screen. Default mode is on.
¾ Enable ONE-SEG Content
This function enables the display of ONE-SEG content. The default value is off. The user can adjust this option in
any channel, but it is effective only for ONE-SEG content.
This option is available only for digital channels.
Note:
ONE-SEG is a digital TV transmission for portable devices and mobile phones. This technology enables a TV signal
to be transmitted to portable devices even when they are moving, without interference or signal quality loss.

¾ Digital Signal Meter
Indicates signal intensity and quality of the selected channel. This menu does not have automatic off. This option is
available only for digital channels.
¾ PC
Allow some configuration when PC input is selected. The options are: Auto Adjustment, H-Position, and V-Position.
This option is available only in PC mode.

¾ Strip
The Strip contains important information on displayed digital channels. In the strip you will find the channel name
and number, closed caption, current date/time, program name, duration, beginning/end, age rating, services and
subtitle and audio.
For analog channels, the strip shows only date/time, channel number, subtitle and audio.
The strip is displayed for a few seconds every time a cable or outside channel is selected, or if the user presses the
display key.

2.5 Visualization Menu
Mode Normal in 16:9 Screens
The display of a 4:3 screen will be in the center between two empty sidebars. The image will be shown with no
distortion. Wide screen contents, such as 16:9, will be compressed horizontally to fill the 4:3 screen.
Wide Mode (Full Screen) for 16:9 Screens
The content in this mode is stretched horizontally so that at least 95% of the image width is visible.

Zoom Mode for 16:9 Screens
For this mode, the image is usually in wide format on 4:3 screen with empty top and bottom bars. For 4:3 content signal that contains 16:9 images, the internal bars will appear as part of the picture. The Zoom mode will expand the image evenly in both directions to fill up the entire screen.
Cinema Mode for 16:9 Screens
The Cinema mode is used to visualize anamorphic content in 2.35:1 full screen format (such as that of a StarWars DVD for example) on 16:9 screens. This allows the user the option to fill the entire screen with the image, with no distortion.
