Ot her fog liqu ids m ay cause clo ggi ng or “spitting ”. Always ma ke sure ther e is su fficient l iqu id in the tank. If your A N TARI W-51 5 & W-530 Fog Mach ine f ails to work prop erl y, discontinu e use i mmediately. Before begin nin g your initi al se tup on A N TA R I W-515 & W-530 Fog Machine, make sure t hat t here is no eviden t dam age caused by transpor tat ion . In the event tha t the u nit's housing o r cab le is damaged, do n ot pl ug it in and do no t at tempt to use i t unt il after contac tin g your A N TA R I deal er fo r assistan ce.

Setup

Remo ve all pa cki ng materials fr om sh ipping box . Che ck that all fo am an d plastic padd ing i s removed, e specially in th e noz zle area. Place fog mach ine o n a flat surface an d rem ove fog l iqu id tank cap. Place the liqu id tu be into a properl y fil led liquid t ank . Fill with high -qu ality, water- based fog liqui d rec ommended by A N TARI de ale r. Th e W- 515 & W-5 30 only works wit h unc ontaminated A nta ri FLR or FLG Fog Liquid. Any ot her types of l iqu id can damage the u nit r esulting in spi tti ng and se rious clog gin g pro blem. When f ill ed, place cap bac k on li quid tank. Be ca reful not to e xceed the maxim um fl uid level. DO NOT OVERFILL.

Operation

Co ntrol P ane l

Th e built-in control pan el on t he rear of the m ach ine features an LC D panel display ing a ll operati on statuses of th e fog m achine. The con tro l panel allo ws th e user to cust omi ze fog machi ne fu nct ions by adju sti ng th e fogging du ration, interva l, and vo lum e as we ll as the DMX ad dre ss, the wireles s fun ction and th e fluid sensor. Th ere a re six buttons on t he co ntrol board. Al l cur rent opera ting pa ra met ers are automat ica lly stored in non -vola til e memory, allowing t he machine to be po wer ed do wn without l osi ng fu nction set tin gs.

After switch ing o n, th e display sh ort ly indicat es »A ntari W-515/W-530«. Then th e fog machin e sta rts with the warm -up process and t he di splay indi cat es »Warmi ng Up «. While the unit i s warming up , fog output w ill n ot be possible yet. Prog ram the nece ssa ry menu setting s wit h the control pan el. O nce the warm-up p roc ess is complete d, fo g output will be po ssi ble. The displa y indicates »Ready to Fog«. Ad ditional ly, a »W« fo r wir eless and an »S« fo r flu id sensor is i ndi cat ed if these functions ar e act ivate d.

NOTE: W hen settin g a fog o utput volu me hi gher than 30 % for co nti nuous op erati on, the fog machi ne oc casionally ne eds t o stop the fog outp ut to re heat. Wh en »N O N STO P BURST« i s selected , the f og ma chine adju sts t he fo g ou tput vo lum e and heater temp erature au tom atically and do es no t need to st op the fog out put t o reh eat.

For im mediate fog out put a t the maximum vol ume of fog, ke ep the button MANUAL pressed . The d isp lay ind ica tes » Manual 100 % «. As s oon as you re lease the bu tto n, th e fog output w ill s top. The man ual o perat ion w ill take pr iority over the con tin uou s opera tio n and the time r ope ratio n. Even if one of th ese operating modes is a cti va ted , the f og machine w ill a lways e mit t he maximum volu me of fog when the bu tto n M A N U AL is pr ess ed.

- Ti mer ope rat ion

In the timer mod e, th e fog machine wil l aut omatically em it fo g. The time interva ls, durati on and fog vol ume depend on the c orr esp onding men u se ttings. Pr ess t he bu tton T I M ER, to a cti va te th e timer mode . The d isp lay indicates th e set t ime interval. The unit c oun ts do wn to 0 second s and e mit s fo g. To deacti vate the tim er mo de, press the but ton TIM E R agai n.

W-1 Wireless Remote

Th e wireless r emo te co ntrol syst em W-1 co nsi sts o f a trans mitter equipp ed wi th tw o buttons fo r fog o n and o ff, and a receiver p re-at tac hed t o the rear pan el of each W-series model .

* Tr ansmi tte r:

With the transmitter it is p oss ible to emit f og vi a radio o ver a distan ce of u p to 50 meters. The t ransmitt er is c ompatible to an y receiver o f the W-s eries and ca n control an u nli mited number of m ach ines in para llel.

To sto p the fog output, pr ess the butt on “B ”.

* Re ceive r:

Th e receiver i s tested and pre- attached to the r ear p anel of each W-seri es mo del. Pleas e do no t try to remov e it. The receive r responds to up to 5 different transmitte rs th at are register ed wi th the machine. T he in cluded tran smi tter has been reg ist ered to the machi ne be fore shipment . It ca n be directly ope rated with out a ny start-up setti ng.

- Re giste rin g trans mit ter s

To operat e the machine wit h a dif ferent tra nsmitter than t he in cluded one , or to o perat e it with up to 5 diffe ren t trans mit ters, each t ransmitt er mu st be re gistered f irs t. For th is purpose, tur n on th e machine. When t he di splay indicates »W ire less Setup«, pr ess t he button “A” 1 sec ond o n eac h tran smi tter. Thus the prev iou s trans mit ters are cle are d fro m the memory o f th e receiver. Th e setting must be c omp leted within 15 s eco nds after sw itching on t he ma chi ne. Then the m ach ine will automa tic ally exit the tran smi tter setting mo de. T he display s how s »Wireless Set up OK«. At this po int, no furt her t ransm itt er can be added.

If no trans mitter is regis ter ed when the machi ne is s witched on, the m emo ry of the receive r will ke ep th e rec ord of the pre vio us op erati on.

Se tting E xam ple 1:

In order to regi ste r several tran smi tters with a m ach ine , turn on the machine. Whe n the d isplay ind ica tes »Wireless S etu p«, press the but ton “A” 1 second on each t ransmitt er wi thin 15 seconds t o est ablish the sign al tran smi ssion.

Se tting E xam ple 2:

In order to use 1 transmitte r to co ntrol 2 or more mac hin es, turn on th e

machines at th e sam e time. When the di spl ays indica te »W ireless Setup «, pr ess the butt on “A” 1 sec ond on the transmitter w ith in 15 seconds to es tablish th e sig nal tra nsm ission.

- Ba ttery c han ge on the t ran smi tt er

If the rang e of the trans mitter dec rea ses , the batter y is pr oba bly exhaus ted an d must be repl ace d. For th is purpose, tak e off the hous ing c over an d re move th e used battery. Insert a fr esh 1 2 V battery, type 23A as i ndi cated in th e battery co mpa rtm ent and refi t the h ous ing cov er.

Bo th models ar e equ ipped with a DMX5 12 sy stem. For connect ing a DMX co ntroller, 3- pin a nd 5-pin male-f ema le XLR conne cti ons a re prov ide d at th e ba ck of each mac hin e. The machines u se on e control chann el fo r adjusting th e output vol ume. The channe l has a DM X valu e ra nge o f 0 to 255. After co nnecting a DMX co ntroller, timer functi ons s uch as output duration and interva l can be progr ammed usin g the DMX controller o r the DM X control so ftwar e. Th e machine canno t be co ntrolled via th e bui lt-in c ont rol panel no r th e W- 1 wireless remo te anymore. By us ing t he DMX proto col , fog machines, lighting eff ect s, and other spec ial e ffects machin es ca n be interconne cte d an d easily con tro lled.

Check t he fl uid level, t he ex ternal fus e, th e con nection to t he re mote contr ol, a nd po wer from the w all. If all of t he ab ove app ear s to be O.K., p lug t he un it again. If fog do es no t come out after ho ldi ng the remote bu tton down fo r 30 se con ds, check th e hos e att ached to the t ank t o make su re there is fl uid g oing through th e hos e. If you are un abl e to determi ne th e ca use of the pro ble m, do not simply co nti nue pushing the r emo te button, as th is may da mag e the unit. Return the mac hin e to your A nta ri de aler.

Performance Note

All fog machin es de velop cond ens ation around th e out put nozzle. Bec aus e th is may re sul t in some moistur e acc umulation on th e sur face below the ou tput nozzl e, co nsi der this con den sat ion when ins tal lin g your un it. All fog machin es may sputter sm all a mounts of fog occ asi onally during op erati on and for a minute o r so af ter being tu rne d off. All fog machin es have a recy cling peri od af ter l ong bursts w hen t he ma chine wi ll shut itse lf do wn for a short peri od in o rder to heat up aga in. D uring this time no fog can be p rod uced.

Cleaning and Storage

Do not al low th e fo g liqu id to beco me contamina ted . Alwa ys rep lac e the c ap on th e fog liqu id container and the fog ma chi ne liquid tan k immediatel y af ter filling. Cleani ng your fo g mach ine regul arl y can h elp yo u to re duce the frequency of parts re pla cement a nd maintena nce costs. Aft er every 40 hour s o f co ntinuous operation, it is recomm end ed to use distilled wate r to clean the he ater accor din g to th e steps belo w.

Th e recom men ded cle ani ng re gimen i s as fo llows :

1. F ill prop erl y dis til led w ate r int o a c lean tan k and connect the fluid tu be of the fo g machine to t he ta nk.

2. Run the un it in a w ell-ventilate d are a until the tank is a lmo st empty.

3. Us e d ry clo th to wipe the fog mac hine. C leaning is n ow com plete. Refi ll wit h

fo g liq uid. Run the mac hine bri efly to cl ear any rem aining liquid from the pu mp and heate r.

No te:  A ll fog m achines are pron e to clo ggi ng du e to the thick c onsistency of fo g liqu id a nd the hig h temperature a t which it va por izes. How ever, a pr operly mai nta ined fog machin e sho uld provid e years of reliab le us e.
