Note
The installation instructions provided are for the Amico standard products. Slight modications
to the installations may be required. The product shipped to the job site may not be exactly as
shown on the installation drawings.
Before Installation
1. At framing and rough-in stage, frame opening in the wall to allow for installation of the recessed
headwall. Refer to shop drawings for your particular headwall dimensions. Framing should provide
plenty of support for the weight of the headwall, including any accessories that may be mounted on
the headwall during use.
2. Review a copy of the nal approved shop drawing(s) and/or submittal package. These documents will
provide you with technical information specic to your installation, such as:
• equipment types and quantities
• room numbers and locations
• shop drawings of each unit type
• wiring diagrams and rough-in locations
3. Locate the headwall unit from the shipping boxes that you wish to install. The contents of each shipping
box are listed on the shipping document(s).

Installation
1. Please see the “Disassembly Section” (Page 6) on how to access the headwall frame, as the unit is delivered fully assembled (see Figure 1). Place all devices in a clean storage area.
2. Special on-site preparations are required to build the wall area where the headwall units will be installed (see Figure 2 for an example). Please refer to the Submittal Drawings for overall dimensions
and rough-in locations.

3. Install the headwall unit in the to stud frame opening from Step 2 (see Figure 3 and Figure 4)

a. The unit should be mounted in such a way that the
front of the unit protrudes 5/8" from the drywall
surface (see Figure 5). (E.g. If a 5/8" drywall is being
used, the front of the unit should be 1-1/4" from the
stud face.)
b. Ensure that the mounting location corresponds to the on-site rough-in locations.

c. Once the headwall is in the correct position, attach the headwall to the studs using the slots on the
side and the frame provided with the unit. (see Figure 6) Use hardware that is compliant with applicable local building codes.
4. Connect the med gas and electrical sources to the terminations on the headwall (see Figure 7 and
Figure 8).

5. Re-install the front fascia, opposite to
how it was removed in Step 1.
6. Place med gas fronts onto back assemblies with hardware provided. The front
gas assemblies are indexed to avoid
errors. Ensure the correct gas front goes
on the med gas back assembly.
7. Replace electrical covers on devices and secure with hardware supplied. Ensure all devices and
fascia are secure.

Disassembly
1. Remove device cover plates.

2. Remove gas outlets.
4. Remove screws between front frame and
back box (6 typ)
