Geared Rotary Limit Switches
SUPERIOR DESIGN AND OPERATING FEATURES  ALL METAL GEARING FOR LONGEVITY
Page 2
Accuracy & Longevity
A
Geared Rotary Limit Switch line is designed for longevity. Units include all metal gearing and switches that are rated for 15 million operations. All units are
built in the USA to meet global application needs.
The Gemco® Geared Rotary Limit Switches are primarily used in material
handling and rotary operations where motion is expressed in shaft rotation.
The input shaft is typically connected to the motor or drive mechanism.
After a set amount of turns, the cam trips the switches, thus starting or stop-
ping the movement. The primary purpose of the switch is to control the
intermediate or end limits in linear or rotary motion. The switch is often
used as a safety device to protect against accidental damage to equipment
due to overtravel.

Quality Parts Make Each Geared Rotary Limit Switch Highly Dependable
The ½" input shaft drives a bronze
gear which rotates the steel cams
and cam block. The cam block
houses independently adjustable
cams that actuate the precision type
snap action switches.
Each Rotary Limit Switch can be
provided with up to 4 switches and
can be rotated clockwise or counter-
clockwise.
Every switch features: Self-lubricating
bearings, powdered metal impregnated for life-time
lubrication  External mounting holes to permit mount-
ing without internal interference  Bronze gears and
steel cams for longevity
No minimum speed is specied
because snap action contacts are
used. Maximum rated speed of the
input shaft is 1,000 rpm for the 2000
Series and 2,000 rpm for the 2006
Series. Gemco Geared Rotary Limit
Switches oer the broadest range
of standard gear selections of any
switch available. Standard ratios
ranges from 5:1 to 5,333:1.
Operating temperature from -40° F
(-40° C) to 180° F (82.2° C) provides for
mounting and operation in even the
harshest industrial environments.

Designed for installations such as mechanical press ram adjustments, press
extractors, and shuttles requiring a limit switch that will withstand rapid
starting and stopping, shock, and vibration and still successfully control the
end or intermediate limits of such devices. Because of these high demands,
Gemco’s Heavy Duty Rotary Limit Switch has been built to far exceed any
other on the market.
