Streamline Operations with Video Intelligence
Modern video surveillance goes beyond standard security by obtaining, visualizing,
and reporting on analytical data retrieved via IP cameras and video management
systems. Real-time analytics are ideal for applications seeking to streamline
processes and augment overall productivity. This is accomplished by configuring
rules available through add-on licensing that can assist in tracking both people and
objects, reducing the need for dedicated security personnel.
Configure Settings Based on Unique Needs
Each video analytic stream includes rules that can be added and edited as security
needs change and expand. Video Intelligence includes the following rules: crowd
formation, dwell, enter, exit, linger, object abandoned/removed, object detection,
perimeter protection, tripwire, direction, and queue length. License plate
recognition analytic streams are also available for more advanced deployments
with complex needs.

Grow Analytic Capabilities
To benefit from video analytics, each camera within the video management system has to be set with a dedicated video
analytics channel. This can cause operators to exhaust resources and reduce system performance. The Tyco Analytics
Appliance adds up to 16 useable streams beyond what is available on the network video recorder, offsetting some of the
processing while increasing performance. The added resource increases business intelligence and revenue opportunities
without overhauling the entire system. Get more out of video analytics with a dedicated appliance.

Video Intelligence Capabilities
Color Filtering
Crowd Formation
Direction
Dwell
Enter
Exit
Linger Determine if people are pacing in certain areas for suspicious or non-permissible periods of time.
Permiter Protection Draw an area of interest to trigger an alarm when the zone is approached or breached.
Object Abandoned
Object Removed
Object Detection Detect items that have been added to a previously empty space, such as a hallway or restricted area.
Queue Length
Tripwire
Hone in on objects or people by searching video based on color attributes, which can be applied to any
video intelligence rule. For example, quickly find a red truck or a person wearing a green sweater.
Set a region of interest and when a crowd of a certain size forms, an alert can be raised. Improve
responsiveness to "flash mob" and other multiple offender crimes.
Gain visibility to critical situations such as motorists driving the wrong way on a freeway, or vehicles crossing
a security checkpoint in the wrong direction.
Draw a region of interest that triggers an alarm when a person within the field is stationary for an extended
period of time.
Count objects or people entering a specific area at different times. Generate reports and trigger alarms as
needed.
Count objects or people exiting a specific area at different times. Generate reports and trigger alarms as
needed.
Abandoned objects can be a huge concern, particularly in places such as airports, train stations, or other
high-traffic areas. This rule can detect changes in a scene or region of interest and immediately alert
authorities.
Trigger an alarm when an item within the region of interest is suddenly or unknowingly removed to avoid
costly theft or confusion.
Sound an alarm when a line gets too long. Analyze data to pinpoint times during the day when lines are
empty, short, medium or long to better manage cashier lines, toll lanes, etc.
Detect when an object crosses a virtual tripwire as well as count of objects crossing in & out. If the count
reaches a given threshold an alert can be generated.
