Reading the instruction
manual and to adhere to it should not appear to be inconvenient and superfluous as it is not enough to hear from others and to realise that a machine is good, to buy it and to believe that now everything would work by itself. The person concerned would not only harm himself but also make the mistake of blaming the machine for the reason of a possible failure instead of himself. In order to ensure a good success one should go into the mind of a thing or make himself familiar with every part of the machine and to get acquainte
d
with its handling. Only this way, you would be satisfied both with the machine as also with yourself. To achieve this is the purpose of this instruction manual.

2.2 Representation of safety symbols
Safety instructions are indicated by the triangular safety symbol and
the highlighted signal word. The signal word (DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION) describes the severity of the risk, and carries the following meaning:
DANGER
Indicates a direct threat at high risk which will result in death or most serious bodily harm (loss of limbs or long-term harm), should it not be prevented.
If the instructions are not followed, then this will result in immediate death or serious physical injury.
WARNING
Indicates a medium risk, which could result in death or (serious) physical injury if not avoided.
If the instructions are not followed, then this may result in death or serious physical injury.
CAUTION
Indicates a low risk which could cause minor or medium level physical injury or damage to property if not avoided.
IMPORTANT

Coupling and uncoupling the implement
Only connect and transport the implement with tractors suitable
for the task.
When coupling implements to the tractor's 3-point hydraulic sys-
tem, the mounting categories of the tractor and the implement must always be compatible.
Connect the implement to the prescribed equipment in accord-
ance with the specifications.
When coupling implements to the front or the rear of the tractor,
the following may not be exceeded:
o the permissible total tractor weight
the permissible tractor axle loads
the permissible load-bearing capacities of the tractor tyres
Secure the tractor and the implement against unintentional roll-
ing away before coupling or uncoupling the implement.
It is forbidden for people to stand between the implement to be
coupled and the tractor while the tractor is approaching the implement.
Any helpers may only act as guides standing next to the vehi-
cles, and may only move between the vehicles when both are at a standstill.
Before the implement is connected to or disconnected from the
tractor's three-point hydraulic system, secure the operating lever of the tractor hydraulic system so that unintentional raising or lowering is impossible.
When coupling and uncoupling implements, move the support
equipment (if equipped) to the appropriate position (stability).
When actuating the support equipment, there is a danger of inju-
ry from crushing and shearing points.
Be particularly careful when coupling the implement to the tractor
or uncoupling it from the tractor. There are crushing and shear points in the area of the coupling points between the tractor and the implement.
It is forbidden to stand between the tractor and the implement
when actuating the three-point hydraulic system.
Coupled supply lines:
must easily give way to all movements in bends without
tensioning, kinking or rubbing
may not chafe against other parts.
The release ropes for quick action couplings must hang loosely
and may not release themselves when lowered.
Also ensure that uncoupled implements are always parked in a
stable position.

Use of the implement
Before starting work, make sure that you understand all the
equipment and control elements of the implement and their functions. It is too late for this when the implement is already in operation.
Wear tight-fitting clothing. There is an increased risk of loose
clothing getting caught or entangled on drive shafts.
Only put the implement into operation after all protective devices
have been attached and are in protective position.
Comply with the maximum load of the mounted/towed implement
and the permissible axle and drawbar loads of the tractor. If necessary, drive only with a partially filled tank.
It is forbidden to stand in the working area of the implement.
It is forbidden to stand in the turning and swivel range of the im-
plement.
There are crushing and shearing hazards on implement parts ac-
tuated by external force (e.g. hydraulically).
Only operate implement parts actuated by external force if by-
standers are maintaining an adequate safety distance to the implement.
Secure the tractor against unintentional start-up and rolling away
before you leave the tractor.
For this:
lower the implement onto the ground
apply the tractor parking brake
switch off the tractor engine
remove the ignition spanner.
Implement transportation
When using public roads, national road traffic regulations must
be observed.
Switch off the control terminal before road transport.
Before road transport, check
that the supply lines are connected correctly
the lighting system for damage, function and cleanliness
the brake and hydraulic system for visible damage
that the tractor parking brake is released completely
the function of the brake system.
A
lways ensure that the tractor has sufficient steering and braking
power.
Any implements and front/rear weights connected to the tractor
influence the driving behaviour and the steering and braking power of the tractor.
If necessary, use front weights.
The tractor front axle must always be loaded with at least 20 %
of the empty tractor weight to ensure sufficient steering power.
Page 31
General safety instructions
Centaya Super BAH0092-3 01.19
31
Always properly fasten the front or rear weights to the intended
fastening points.
Comply with the maximum payload of the mounted/towed im-
plement and the permissible axle and drawbar loads of the tractor.
The tractor must guarantee the prescribed brake delay for the
loaded vehicle combination (tractor plus mounted/towed implement).
Check the brake power before moving off.
When turning corners with the mounted or towed implement,
take the wide sweep and centrifugal mass of the implement into account.
Before transporting the implement, ensure sufficient side locking
of the tractor lower links if the implement is attached to the threepoint hydraulic system or lower links of the tractor.
Before road transport, move all the swivel implement parts to the
transport position.
Before road transport, secure all the swivel implement parts in
the transport position against risky position changes. Use the transport locks intended for this.
Before road transport, lock the operating lever of the tractor's
three-point hydraulic system against the unintentional raising or lowering of the mounted or towed implement.
Before road transport, check that the required transport equip-
ment, e.g., lighting, warning equipment and protective equipment, is correctly installed on the implement.
Before road transport, perform a visual check that the top and
lower link pins are firmly fixed with the linch pin against unintentional release.
Adjust your forward speed to the respective prevailing condi-
tions.
Before driving downhill, switch to a lower gear.
Before road transport, always switch off the independent wheel
braking (lock the pedals).

2.16.2 Hydraulic system
The hydraulic system is under high pressure.
Ensure that the hydraulic hose lines are connected correctly.
When connecting the hydraulic hose lines, ensure that the hy-
draulic system is depressurized on both the implement and tractor sides.
It is forbidden to block the operator controls on the tractor which
are used for hydraulic and electrical movements of components, e.g. folding, swivelling and pushing movements. The movement must stop automatically when you release the appropriate control. This does not apply to equipment movements that:
are continuous or
are automatically locked or
require a float position or pressure position due to their function.
Before working on the hydraulic system
lower the implement
depressurize the tractor's hydraulic system
switch off the tractor engine
apply the tractor parking brake
take out the ignition spanner.
Have the hydraulic hose lines checked for proper functioning by
a specialist at least once a year.
Replace the hydraulic hose lines if they are damaged or worn.
Use only original AMAZONE hydraulic hose lines.
The hydraulic hose lines should not be used for longer than six
years, including any storage time of maximum two years. Even with proper storage and approved use, hoses and hose connections are subject to natural aging, thus limiting the duration of use. However, it may be possible to specify the length of use from experience values, in particular when taking the risk potential into account. In the case of hoses and hose lines made of thermoplastics, other guide values may be decisive.
Never attempt to plug leaks in hydraulic hose lines using your
hand or fingers.
Escaping high-pressure fluid (hydraulic fluid) can penetrate in-
to the body through the skin and cause serious injuries.
If you are injured by hydraulic fluid, contact a doctor immedi-
ately. Risk of infection.
When searching for leaks, use suitable aids to avoid the serious
risk of infection.
2.16.3 Electrical system
When working on the electrical system, always disconnect the
battery (negative terminal).
Only use the prescribed fuses. If fuses are used that are too
highly rated, the electrical system will be destroyed – risk of fire.
Ensure that the battery is connected correctly – first connect the
positive terminal and then connect the negative terminal. When disconnecting the battery, disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.

minal. If there is accidental earth contact, there is a danger of explosion.
Risk of explosion. Avoid sparking and naked flames in the area
of the battery.
The implement may be equipped with electronic components
whose function can be influenced by electromagnetic radiation from other devices. Such interference can pose risks to people, i
f
the following safety information is not observed.
In the case of retrofitting electrical units and/or components
on the implement, with a connection to the on-board power supply, the operator is responsible for checking whether the installation might cause faults on the vehicle electronics or other components.

ment must be compatible or an adapter must be used.
Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
Before mounting or dismounting implements on the 3-point hitch,
put the operating equipment to a position in which accidental raising or lowering is impossible.
There is a danger of crushing or shearing injury in the area of the
three-point linkage.
The implement may be transported and towed only by the trac-
tors intended for this purpose.
There is a risk of injury when implements are coupled to and un-
coupled from the tractor.
Do not step between tractor and implement when operating the
external controls for the 3-point hitch.
There is a danger of crushing and shearing injury when operat-
ing the support devices.
When mounting implements at the front or rear of a tractor, do
not exceed
o the permissible total tractor weight
the permissible tractor axle loads
The permissible load-bearing capacities of the tractor tyres.
Observe the max. payload of the mounted implement and the
permissible axle loads of the tractor.
Always ensure that the tractor lower links are adequately locked
against sideways movement before transporting the implement.
When travelling on public roads,
the control lever for the tractor lower links must be secured
against lowering
the control terminal must be switched off.
Move all equipment into the transport position before travelling
on the road.
Any mounted implements and ballast weights affect the han-
dling, steering and braking of the tractor.
The tractor front axle must always be loaded with at least 20 %
of the empty tractor weight to ensure sufficient steering power. Apply front weights if necessary.
Repair, maintenance and cleaning work or rectifying malfunc-
tions must always only be carried out with
the ignition spanner removed
and the control terminal switched off.

5 Layout and function
Fig. 33
The Centaya Super (Fig. 33/A) pneumatic pack top seed drill is used as part of a seeding combination with a soil tillage implement (Fig. 33/B) and roller (Fig. 33/C).
The seeding combination optimises soil loosening, reconsolidation, precise seed placement, uniform placement depth, coverage of the seed, and a track-free, well-structured field after tilling. The seed is carried in the seed hopper (Fig. 33/1).
If the tines encounter a rigid obstacle during soil tillage, the soil tillage implement can deflect upwards. To do so, the soil tillage implement is supported on the roller and is no longer rigidly connected to it.
The Centaya can be equipped with a choice of RoTeC-Pro Control coulters or TwinTeC double disc coulters (Fig. 33/2). The seed falls into the seed furrow prepared by the coulters. In combination with the AMAZONE rotary cultivator or the CombiDisc compact disc harrow, mulch seeding is possible with both coulter types.
The metered seed volume passes from the seed metering unit (Fig. 33/3) into the air stream generated by the blower fan, which is driven by an electric motor. The speed of the metering roller automatically adjusts to changing working speeds. The pulses from the radar serve to measure the working speed and the distance covered.
The air stream delivers the seed to the distributor head (Fig. 33/4), which distributes the seed uniformly onto all the coulters.
The seed is covered with loose soil by the exact following harrow (Fig. 33/5).
After turning at the end of the field, the tractor driver drives in the next bout over the centre of the track drawn by the track markers (Fig. 33/6). The track markers are attached to the soil tillage implement.

The roller serves to reconsolidate the soil. AMAZONE provides the suitable roller for any seed type and any soil. The Centaya Super may only be combined with the approved AMAZONE rollers, see chapter "Approved AMAZONE implement combinations", page 50.
The AMAZONE PW tooth packer roller has good self-propulsion and with its on-grip teeth, it achieves full-area reconsolidation of the surface. The tooth packer roller is designed for universal use.
Fig. 34
The AMAZONE KW wedge ring roller has a wide range of application.
Its design enables reconsolidation in strips on virtually all soils and under all conditions.

The AMAZONE KWM wedge ring roller with matrix tyre profile is characterised by two particularly good features. The wedge ring roller with matrix tyre profile has particularly good selfpropulsion and produces lots of fine soil to fill the seed rows.
Fig. 36
The AMAZONE TRW trapeze ring roller reconsolidates the soil in strips. On light soils, the good load-bearing capacity of the roller prevents the trapeze rings from sinking in too deep.

5.1 AMAZONE AmaDrill 2 control terminal
Implements without an ISOBUS system are equipped with the AmaDrill 2 control terminal.
The AmaDrill 2 control terminal with an integrated computer is used to control and monitor the seed drill.
One of these functions is the speed regulation of the electric motor. The speed of the metering roller is regulated by the electric motor depending on the working speed.
Other functions can be found in the "AmaDrill 2" operating manual.
Fig. 38
5.2 AMAZONE calibration button
The calibration button (Fig. 39/1) in the control centre is connected to the control terminal in the tractor cab. When actuating the calibration button, the metering motor to calibrate the seed rate or empty the metering unit starts running.
The calibration button can be used on implements with and without ISOBUS system.
The calibration button (Fig. 39/1) is not required if the implement is equipped with the TwinTerminal.
A detailed description can be found in the
"AmaDrill 2" operating manual  "ISOBUS software" operating manual.
Fig. 39
5.3 Control terminal for implements with ISOBUS system
The combination can be equipped with the ISOBUS system. Implements with the ISOBUS system have a job computer that is installed in a protected position on the implement. The job computer control the hydraulic cylinders and electric motors, monitors the implement functions, and implements the inputs on the control terminal made by the tractor driver.
The ISOBUS system makes it possible to connect the implement to any ISOBUS control terminal. If the tractor has an ISOBUS system, the AMAZONE job computer can be connected to the existing ISOBUS socket of the tractor and operated with the on-board terminal.
It must be noted that functions are not executed if the control terminal does not have the corresponding software. If the control terminal does not have the "Section Control" software, GPS signals cannot be processed with the implement.
Instructions for operating the AMAZONE job computer with ISOBUS system can be found in the "ISOBUS software" operating manual.

5.3.1 AMAZONE AmaTron 4 control terminal
As an option, the combination can be delivered e.g. with the AMAZONE AmaTron 4 control terminal.
The AmaTron 4 control terminal (Fig. 40) can operate all implements that are equipped with the ISOBUS system.
Instructions for operating
the AMAZONE job computer
can be found in the "ISOBUS Software" operating manual
the ISOBUS-compatible control terminal
can be found in the "AmaTron 4" operating manual.
Fig. 40
5.3.2 AMAZONE TwinTerminal
The communication with the control terminal in the tractor cab takes place through the TwinTerminal. The TwinTerminal can be used on implements with ISOBUS system.
The TwinTerminal (Fig. 41) is located in the control centre and saves the tractor driver the walk over to the tractor cab, e.g. when starting the calibration procedure or entering the collected calibrated quantity.
During residual emptying of the seed hopper, the motor that drives the metering roller in the metering unit is switched on and off using the TwinTerminal. Like with the calibration test, the metered material is collected.
For a more detailed description, refer to the "ISOBUS software" operating manual.

5.1 Implement documentation
The implement documentation and the operating manual can be found in the case (Fig. 42/1) under the seed hopper. Keep all operating manuals or a copy in the case on your implement to avoid operating errors.
The case can also accommodate a further metering roller.
Fig. 42
5.2 Central key
During adjustment work, the central key (Fig. 43/1) is used to loosen and fasten bolts and nuts.
In parking position, the central key is inserted in the transport bracket on the soil tillage implement and is secured with a linch pin.
Fig. 43
5.3 Hand wash tank
The water tap (Fig. 44/1) of the hand wash tank and a soap dispenser (Fig. 44/2) are easily accessible, located outside on the front side of the implement.
The hand wash tank has a volume of 5 litres and a screw cap (Fig. 44/3).
The hand wash tank is not food-safe.
The water is not suitable for drinking.

the speed of the metering roller drive motor. For a constant seeding rate at different forward
speeds.
Use of the radar device requires teaching-in the pulses over a calibration distance of 100 m, in particular
before initial use
 in event of different soils (slippage)
if the actual seed rate differs from the calibrated seed rate
in event of deviation between the displayed and the actual worked area.
Instructions for teaching-in machine pulses

5.5 Seed hopper and loading board
The roller tarpaulin (Fig. 46/1) protects the contents of the seed hopper from water and dust.
The seed hopper is filled from the loading board, on the back of the seed drill.
Fig. 46
The upper sieve grid in the seed hopper serves as a loading aid when filling manually. Foreign objects in the seed can be sieved and easily removed.
It is forbidden to step onto the sieve grid.
To set the low level sensor, the sieve grid can be opened. The handle (Fig. 47/1) serves to open and close the charging sieve.
The charging sieve is secured with a linch pin against accidental folding open.
Fig. 47
The charging sieve (Fig. 48/1) on the floor of the seed hopper
cannot be opened without tools
prevents the user from unintentionally
reaching into the rotating metering roller
protects the metering unit from damage
caused by foreign objects in the seed.

5.5.1 Fill level monitoring
A low level sensor (Fig. 49/1) monitors the seed level in the seed hopper.
If the seed level reaches the low level sensor, an acoustic signal is emitted. At the same time, the control terminal displays a warning message. This warning message is intended to remind the tractor driver to refill the seeds in due time.
The height of the low level sensor is adjustable when the seed hopper is empty.
Fig. 49
The fastening height of the low level sensor depends on the filled material.
Cereals and legumes: attach the sensor in the upper area.
Fine seed types (e.g., rapeseed): Fasten the sensor in the lower area.

5.6 Metering
The seed is metered by a metering roller in the metering unit. The metering roller can be replaced.
Fig. 50
An electric motor (Fig. 51/1) drives the metering roller (full metering).
The metered seed falls into a sluice (Fig. 51/2) and is directed by the air flow to the distributor head and then to the coulters.
As soon as the implement is raised when turning at the end of a field or when the implement comes to a stop, the electric motor switches off and the metering roller comes to a halt.

Centaya Super BAH0092-3 01.19
The metering roller selection is dependent on the
grain size
seed rate.
A selection of metering rollers with different volumes is available. The selected metering roller volume (cm
3
) should not be too large but still sufficient to spread the required quantity (kg/ha).
The required metering roller depending on the seed and the seed rate can be found in the table (chapter "Table – metering rollers, seed", page 70).
If the seed is not listed, select the metering roller for a seed that has a similar grain size.
For seeding particularly large seeds, e.g. large beans, the chambers (Fig. 52/1) of the metering roller can be enlarged by repositioning the wheels and the plates.
Fig. 52
The volume of some metering rollers can be modified by repositioning / removing the existing metering wheels and inserting metering wheels without chambers.

5.6.3 Calibrating the seed rate
When calibrating the seed rate, the later field pass is simulated. The metering roller speed required to spread the desired seed rate is calculated [kg/ha].
The metering roller speed is calculated from the simulated area (e.g. 1/40 ha) and the weight [kg] of the collected material.
Always calibrate the seed rate
during the initial operation
when changing the sort
if the seed type is identical, but the grain size, grain shape, specific weight and dressing are
different
after replacing the metering roller
if the hopper takes more/less time than expected to empty. The actual seed rate then does not
correspond to the seed rate determined by the calibration test.
During calibration, the metered material is collected in a carriage (Fig. 54/1) under the metering unit.
Fig. 54
Page 73
Layout and function
Centaya Super BAH0092-3 01.19
73
The calibration is started
by pressing the button on the control termi-
nal in the tractor cab or
by pressing the calibration button (Fig. 55/1)
or
Fig. 55
by pressing the button on the TwinTerminal
(Fig. 56).
The calibration button and the TwinTerminal button must be pressed down during the entire calibration process. The metering roller stops automatically as soon as the calibration is finished.
A detailed description can be found in the
"AmaDrill 2" operating manual.

5.7 Blower fan
The blower fan (Fig. 60/1) generates the air current that carries the seed to the seeding coulters.
The hydraulic motor (Fig. 60/2) drives the blower fan.
The control terminal displays the current fan speed and issues an alarm if there is a deviation from the nominal speed. The percent deviation at which the alarm should be triggered can be adjusted (see "ISOBUS Software" operating manual).

5.8 Distributor head
The distributor head serves to distribute the metered material evenly over all of the coulters.
For this purpose, the distributor head has individual segments. The metered material is evenly distributed over all of the segments in the distributor head, and is carried to the coulters through the connected seed line tubes.
Fig. 64
To create tramlines, the individual segments (Fig. 65/1) have flaps to close the tramline outlet.
When creating the tramlines

5.8.1 Seed tube monitoring
The seed tube hoses represent the connection between the distributor head and the coulters.
Each seed tube hose can be equipped with a sensor (Fig. 66/1) that detects the seed flow.
A
warning message is issued when the seed flow in a monitored seed line hose is interrupted or large deviations occur in the flow rate between the monitored seed line hoses.
Fig. 66
If seed tube monitoring is used together with a machine
with an ISOBUS system, the implement plug is to be connected on an ISOBUS-compatible con-
trol terminal, e.g. AmaTron 3, refer to the "Seed tube monitoring" operating manual.
without an ISOBUS system, the seed tube monitoring cable is to be connected on an ISOBUS-
compatible control terminal, e.g. AmaTron 3, refer to the "Seed tube monitoring" operating manual. The implement plug is to be connected to a control terminal, e.g. AmaDrill 2.

5.10 RoTeC-Pro Control coulter
The RoTeC-Pro Control coulter (Fig. 68/1) is used for seed placement on ploughed or mulched soil, even with large quantities of straw and plant residues.
Thanks to the support of the coulter on the depth control disc / wheel (Fig. 68/2) and the high coulter pressure, the coulter runs very smoothly and precisely maintains the seed placement depth.
The depth control discs/wheels (see below) serve for
limiting the seed placement depth  cleaning the rear side of the steel disc
(Fig. 68/3).

5.11 TwinTeC double disc coulter
The TwinTeC double disc coulter (Fig. 73/1) is used for plough seeding and mulch seeding.
Harvest residues are cut by the large double disc coulters, clearing the plant residues evenly to the side and forming a clean seed furrow.
The seed falls between the seeding discs into the seed furrow opened by the double discs.
The parallel-guided double disc coulters are supported on the press rollers (Fig. 73/2) and therefore precisely maintain the seed placement depth.
The rubberised press rollers close the seed furrow. The displaced soil beside the double disc coulters is levelled by the harrow tines (Fig. 73/3).
Fig. 73
The pitch and the working depth of the harrow tines (Fig. 73/3) can be adjusted.
The pitch can be adjusted in three positions: "flat", "medium" and "steep", see section 8.6.1,
page 157.
If the press rollers (Fig. 73/2) sink in slightly on loose soil, press rollers with a wider contact area can
be installed.

The placement depth and the coulter pressure can be adjusted independently from one another. The coulter pressure can reach 60 kg per coulter. The central key is used to adjust the placement depth of the coulter set and the coulter pressure.
The coulter pressure can be more conveniently infinitely adjusted with a tractor control unit. On alternating soils, the coulter pressure, exact following harrow pressure and seed rate can be adapted simultaneously to the soil by actuating the tractor control unit.

5.12 Coulter pressure, seed rate increase and coulter lift (all coulter types - hydraulically actuated)
Adaptation of the coulter pressure to the soil is required to achieve uniform seed placement depth on different soils. The hydraulically actuated coulter pressure adjustment allows the coulter pressure to be adapted to the soil during operation, when changing to heavy soil.
To achieve uniform levelling with the exact following harrow even on heavy soils, the exact following harrow pressure is also increased when the coulter pressure is increased. At the same time, more seed can be spread.
Your seed drill can be equipped with all or only some of the hydraulic functions described in this section. The hydraulic functions are actuated by the tractor control unit (green). The "exact following harrow pressure" and "exact following harrow lift" hydraulic functions are described in section 5.13, page 88.

5.12.1.2 Activating the seed rate increase
Implements with
RoTeC-Pro control coulters and
TwinTeC double disc coulters
The seed rate can be increased on heavy soils for a uniform crop.
The control terminal serves to enter the desired rate increase.
The desired increased rate is activated with the adjustable pointer (Fig. 79/1).
The pointer (Fig. 79/1) indicates the coulter pressure scale mark (Fig. 79/2) above which the increased rate should be spread.
If the seed rate should be increase above a coulter pressure scale mark of 7, the pointer (Fig. 79/1) must be set at 7.
The increased rate is spread when the coulter pressure scale pointer (Fig. 79/2) is pointing at a scale value between 7 and 10.
Fig. 79
NOTE
If you are working with the AMADRILL 2 control terminal, you can manually enter the higher seed rate as required for heavy soils.

Fig. 83
The following are adjustable
the exact following harrow tine setting
the exact following harrow pressure

The exact following harrow pressure determines the tillage intensity of the exact following harrow and depends on the soil texture.
Before driving in reverse, always life the seed drill and pay attention to obstacles. Stop immediately if there is a collision while driving in reverse. If a slight collision occurs, the exact following harrow tines deflect upwards from the obstacle without being damaged, see Fig. 84.
When driving forwards, the exact following harrow tines return to working position.

5.13.2 Exact following harrow pressure
The exact following harrow pressure must be adjusted depending on the soil. To achieve uniform coverage of the seed row with soil, the exact following harrow pressure must be set higher on heavy soil than on light soil.
With the hydraulically actuated exact following harrow pressure adjustment, the exact following harrow pressure can be pre-set, e.g. for seeding on light and on heavy soil. During work, the exact following harrow pressure can then be adapted to the soil.
The exact following harrow pressure is generated by tension springs that are pre-tensioned using a lever (Fig. 88/1).
Fig. 88
The lever actuates a stop (Fig. 89/1) in the adjuster segment. The stop rests against the linch pin (Fig. 89/2). The higher the linch pin is inserted in the group of holes, the greater the exact following harrow pressure.
Fig. 89
Adjust the exact following harrow pressure so that all seed rows are evenly covered with earth.
The exact following harrow pressure can be adapted to the soil during operation when changing from light soil to heavy soil and vice versa.
The second linch pin (Fig. 89/3) in the adjuster segment marks the increased exact following harrow pressure. When the tractor control unit (green) is actuated, pressure is applied to the hydraulic cylinder (Fig. 89/4), the exact following harrow pressure increases and the stop is resting on the top linch pin. When the tractor control unit (green) is in floating position, the lever rests on the lower pin.
With a tractor control unit, the coulter pressure and the exact following harrow pressure can be adjusted simultaneously. As an option, more seed is then also automatically spread, see section "Coulter pressure, seed rate increase and coulter lift", page 85.

A hydraulic cylinder (Fig. 90/1) lifts the exact following harrow.
Depending on the implement equipment, actuation of the exact following harrow lift with a tractor control unit is possible in 2 variations.
The exact following harrow lift can be actuated with a tractor control unit
with Comfort hydraulic system
after selection on the control terminal

5.14 Seed pre-metering
Seed pre-metering, which meters the seeds in the air current before the implement starts up, can be switched on in the ISOBUS control terminal.
Seed pre-metering is used when corners are to be seeded that can only be reached when the implement is being reversed or with raised coulters.
The runtime of the seed pre-metering can be adjusted, refer to the "ISOBUS software" operating manual.
5.15 Start-up ramp
After turning at the end of the field, seed is metered into the delivery line as soon as the implement is lowered into working position.
As a general rule, the speed of the metering roller is automatically adjusted for changes in the working speed. When the implement accelerates, the metered seed is only deposited in the soil when the speed of the implement is much higher than that of the metering unit. The "start-up ramp", which can be activated on the ISOBUS control terminal, prevents insufficient metering of the seed during the acceleration phase.
To be able to compensate for the system-related insufficient seed quantity using the "start-up ramp" during the acceleration phase of the implement, the factory-set values can be adjusted. Adjustments can be made to the values for the intended working speed, the starting speed [%], and the time until the intended working speed is reached (see "ISOBUS Software" operating manual).
The time until the intended working speed is reached and the percent value depend on the acceleration of each tractor.
