WARNING
T o avoid electrical shock which can cause sever
personal injury or death, disconnect power to
refrigerator before installing kit. After installing kit,
restore power.

T o avoid severe personal injury from refrigerator tipping
over , do not open more than one door at a time until
refrigerator has been secured to the structure. Secure
refrigerator to structure using lag bolts located in the
refrigerator's machine compartment.

*Actuator pads are shipped factory installed to facade using two M0270508 washers and two M0214931 screws.

T o avoid property damage, protect soft vinyl or other
flooring with protective material when moving
refrigerator. V erify wheels are clean before placing
refrigerator on flooring.
Read entire manual before installing kit. Phillips
screwdriver and blade screwdriver with the blade covered
in masking tape must be available prior to installation.
V erify all listed parts are included in kit. If parts are
missing, contact source from whom kit was purchased.
• Mechanical experience is required to install kit.
• All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of
adhesive residue before installing facade.
• If unable to solve a problem during installation,
contact an authorized Amana technician. Locate a
Factory Service Center or independent authorized
technician by calling 1-800-628-5782 inside U.S.A.
and 1-319-622-551 1 outside U.S.A. Service is at
owner's expense.

CAUTION
Procedure
• This kit is designed to be installed on a S148DA03
refrigerator with 3/4" perimeter trim. 3/4" decorator
panels with a 1/4" backer panel, customer supplied
custom handle or factory installed extruded handle
can be used with this kit.
1. If decorator panels have not been installed on freezer
door, install them at this time. Instructions for
installing decorator panels can be found in the
"Installation Instructions" section of the "Installation
and Planning Guide" provided with your refrigerator.
2. If factory installed extruded handles are used, a
facade spacer is required to compensate for the
2 1/2" handle relief. Line up the three holes in the
facade spacer with the three cross ribs on the back of
the dispenser facade. Press facade spacer firmly in
place on back of dispenser facade. This spacer fills
in the gap beneath the facade along the handle side
panel relief. The facade spacer will not be used in
custom handle applications.

3. Insert facade assembly into dispenser cavity opening
until the two screw holes in the bottom of the facade
match the holes in the bottom of the cavity . Facade is
shipped from the factory with actuator pads and
facade insert already installed as an assembly.

• Crushed/cubed ice selector switch should show
through the square hole in the facade insert.
• Photocell in the dispenser cavity must line up with the
sensor hole on the dispenser facade for night light to
work properly .

• Make sure facade sump trough in dispenser facade
fits under the sump lip in the freezer door dispenser
cavity.

6. Remove protective plastic film from surface of
dispenser facade by peeling off. Install crushed/cubed
ice selector switch cap by placing on crushed cubed
ice selector switch and pressing firmly . Make sure
indicator mark is on top.

4. Install two 7/16" screws through holes in bottom of
facade with a phillips screwdriver . Tighten so screw
heads are flush with facade.
5. Install facade stop to top of inner dispenser cavity
using two 7/16" screws provided and a phillips
screwdriver.

7. Install sump grille by inserting two small hooks in
slots in back of facade and swing grille down until
front lip snaps over front edge.
