DESCRIPTION

The ALTEC 403A Loudspeaker is a moderately
priced, wide-range unit, designed specifically

for use in indoor public address and music
reproduction systems.

The 403A is especially desirable in multiple-

speaker applications because of its reasonable
initial cost and high quality. It can be flush-

mounted in either wall, ceiling or baffle instal
lations. All metal parts are heavily cadmium
plated. A bracket is provided for mounting a
70-volt ALTEC 15132 Line Transformer. Rugged
voice coil construction assures a long life of
trouble-free performance. These features make
the 403A an excellent choice where quality and
initial cost are important.

The loudspeaker shall be in diameter and 4" deep. The voice coil shall have a diameter of 1" and

shall operate in a magnetic field of at least 9000 gauss derived from an Alnico V magnet weighing at

least 6.80 ounces. The loudspeaker shall meet the following performance criteria. Power rating, 12
watts. Frequency response, uniform from 70-11,000 Hz. Pressure sensitivity, 95 dB SPL measured at
4' on axis with 1 watt input of band-limited pink noise from 500-3000 Hz. Impedance, 8 ohms.

Nominal free-air cone resonance, 80 Hz. Weight, 3 pounds.
The loudspeaker shall be the ALTEC Model 403A.
