DESCRIPTION

The ALTEC 1207C Portable Column Speaker
System uses six 8" 403A Loudspeakers in a ver
tical array. This configuration is well known for
its wide horizontal, narrow vertical acoustic
pattern that permits outstanding audience cov
erage with minimal microphone feedback prob

lems. The 1207C's 75-watt capability and wide

frequency response provides intense reinforce

ment of the human voice and musical instru
ments covering the same range.

The enclosure is covered with attractive, rugged
vinyl and has heavy-duty edge bumpers. A

retractable carrying handle adds to its

portability.

ARCHITECT'S AND ENGINEER'S SPECIFICATIONS

The portable column speaker system shall consist of six 8" cone-type radiators, vertically arrayed in
a rigid enclosure of heavily braced V4" material, lined with acoustical damping material, and having
vinyl covering, heavy vinyl edge bumpers and carrying handle. The system shall meet the following
performance criteria. Power rating, 75 watts of continuous pink noise. Frequency response, uniform
from 70-11,000 Hz. Pressure sensitivity, 96 dB SPL at 4' when measured on axis with 1 watt input of
band-limited pink noise from 500-3000 Hz (Ref.: 0 dB = 0.0002 dyne/cm^). Impedance, 12 ohms.
Distribution pattern; 60° horizontal (120° and more at2000 Hz and lower). 7.5° vertical (30° and more
at 700 Hz and lower). The system shall be 56V4" H x 14"W x 12V4"D and shall weigh 64 pounds.

The portable column speaker system shall be the ALTEC Model 1207C.
