Quick Start Guide
NOTE:
Before applying power, verify AC input utility. Verify a low-resistance ground
is installed in accordance with the NEC (refer to XM2-300 HP Power Supply
technical manual for details).
Pre-Service Connection Procedure
Verify the battery switch is OFF. 1.
WARNING!
Verify battery voltage, cable color (Red +, Black -), connection and polarity are correct before
proceeding.
Connect battery cables to battery terminals (connect temperature probe ring lug to negative 2.
(-) battery terminal at this time) and tighten to manufacturer’s recommended torque settings.
Connect batteries to Battery Input connector.
Verify correct connection of temperature probe ring lug to Negative (-) battery terminal, then 3.
connect dual temperature probe cable.
Insert optional Local/Remote Indicator (LRI) cable. Tighten to 7.0 lbf4. •in / 0.8Nm.
Connect status monitoring connectors in connector labeled ETH, tamper switch connector (if 5.
installed) at TMPR, and optional battery heater mat at ENV.
Verify SPI switch is in “ALT” position.6.
Connect the SPI (network load) to the Output 1 connector; Black to ~, White to N. Tighten to 7.
7.0 lbf•in / 0.8Nm.
Connect an auxiliary load (i.e. fan) to the Output 2 connector 8. (optional); Black to ~, White to N.
Tighten to 7.0 lbf•in / 0.8Nm.
Turn on AC breaker (located on enclosure) and verify correct (per unit’s nameplate voltage) 9.
utility voltage at outlet; if correct, plug in XM2-300 HP line cord to the utility outlet.
Turn the Inverter Module’s battery switch ON. 10.
Verify no alarms are present (it may take up to 60 seconds for alarms to clear).11.
Perform self-test 12. (NOTE: The rmware automatically performs a 10-second self-test 30
seconds after initialization). The self-test may also be manually initiated by simultaneously
pressing the DOWN arrow key and ENTER key. Wait for self-test completion before
proceeding. To manually exit self-test, simultaneously press DOWN arrow and ENTER key.

13. Perform this live inverter test procedure:
a.) Turn AC input breaker OFF.
b.) Verify XM2-300 HP transfers to “Inverter” mode.
c.) Turn AC input breaker ON.
d.) Verify XM2-300 HP transfers back to utility.
14. Verify Service Power Inserter (SPI) toggle switch in ON position (not ALT).
