Where It is Impractical to Cut a Ho le In the Ba rrier

There are t imes when its impractical ­for various reasons - to cut a 3- t o
4-inch hole through an isolation
barrier. But your employees and your
cust omers st ill have a way to
communicat e - c learly, calmly. In
such cases, t he Alpha
Communic at ions®/Norcon TT U-3 is
the c ommunication system of c hoice.
The prismshaped units of the TT U-3
are ideal for mounting on a countertop on both sides of a barrier.
Yet t hey allow free communicat ion through barriers typically found
in banks, c ashier's booths, information booths, and similar
environments.

How It Works...

The TT U-3 incorporates the same high-quality elec tronics as
the basic (Norcon) patented model TT U-1 T alk-Thru system. It is
a duplex system, enabling the att endant and the cust omer to
talk and listen simultaneously.

The TT U-3 provides c lear communicat ion even in
environments with high ambient noise, shaping the sound for
maximum intelligibility. Its c ompression circuitry decreases loud,
annoying sounds.

How To Install...

The TT U-3 c omes ready to operate. The prism units are
quickly and easily mounted on the counter-t op on opposite sides
of t he barrier. T hey c an be positioned back-to- bac k (as shown)
or randomly. The unit with the gooseneck microphone and
controls goes inside the boot h; the unit without controls is
mounted outside the boot h. T here are two ways to install the

TT U-3: either run the cable between the units through a small hole

in the barrier, or under the counter-top (as shown on next page).

The TT U-3 uses a c ontinuous-duty, 117-Volt AC power
supply which is stepped down t o 12 Volts.
