The Alpha Communicat ions®/Norcon patented TTU-1 Talk­Thru Communicator is a 2-way, hands-free audio syst em that
provides high-quality personal communication between
people separated by sec urity or isolation barriers. It is the most
widely used syst em of its t ype in the U.S., and the world.

How It Works...

The Alpha Communications®/Norc on T TU system permits hands­free, 2- way communicat ion between the booth at tendant and t he
cust omer. Vox c ircuitry fac ilitates ongoing, clear, 2­way c onversat ion at all times - as if t he two parties were together
in the same room.

The TT U-1 T alk Thru Communic at or now incorporates circuity to
automatically attenuate the outside c hannel. If the goosenec k
mic rophone is not used for a period of 30 sec onds, the out side
channel will be reduced approximately 70%. Normal operation is
restored as soon as t he at tendant speaks into the gooseneck
mic rophone. The automatic volume at tenuation circuit prevents
outside noise from bothering the attendant.

The TT U-1 provides c lear communicat ion even in environments
with high ambient noise by shaping the sound for maximum
intelligibility. Its compression c ircuitry dec reases loud, annoying
sounds.

How To Install...

Installation of the TTU-1 is a very simple, one- person operation.
All that's needed is a 3 to 4 inch round cutout in the barrier. Four
fasteners and two rubber gaskets needed for mounting
are supplied. Please spec ify barrier thickness when ordering.

The front face and housing are easily mounted on opposite
sides of t he barrier using the fasteners supplied. T he rubber
gaskets prevent slippage and protec t the barrier surface. The
elect ronic sec tion is then inserted into the housing and fastened in
place.

Note c hoice of c ontinuous-duty, 117-Volt AC power
supply stepped down to 12 Volts (T TU- 1A-X series), or
rechargeable nickel cadmium batt ery operation (TTU-1D-X series).
