Ring-Master
Ring-Master Communication &
Security System
System Description
Ring-Master RM5000/EX is a fully electronic, microprocessor controlled communication and security system for
up to 56 stations. This new concept, based on the previous RM5000CA communication system has been enhanched
with hardware and software - to bring you the typical
security features that are found in the larger CB901/CA
system. The same advanced Crisis Alert features are now
implemented in RM5000/EX. The system is functionally
adapted to serve a large number of applications, such as:
» Hospitals - Security & O.R.’s
» Prisons and correctional institutions
» Elevator communications
» Parking garages, car parks and gates
» Airports
» Shopping malls
» Production lines
INTERCOM FEATURES
For many years, RM5000 has been one of the most sold
medium sized intercom systems in the world, and with the
enhancement for security applications, the system has got
an even stronger position in the market. The system
features fast access communications, 56 line positions,
master to master, staff to master - any combination you
can ask for. The system has 3 conversation links,
handsfree and confidential calls, T-button for manual
control of speech direction, microphone mute, privacy,
camp on busy extension, program distribution, all call,
seven group calls, meet-me on all- and group calls, data
transmission for remote control, 10 direct dialling keys on
master stations, direct access to Control Room Masters,
personal queue for incoming calls, up to seven hunt
numbers for each station, autodialler for use with
telephone interface, event log printer RS232 interface and
video switcher RS232 interface.
Supervised Annunciator System
provide for modular expandability , large station capacities
and multiple talk paths. Standard or special master or
substations can be utilized in the system configuration.
This system may be interfaced to a variety of other
facilities such as CCTV systems, card access systems, in
addition to such other auxiliary systems as smoke detectors and pressure sensors. A camera switcher may be
assigned to substations and annunciator panels. When a
call is answered on the annunciator, the camera switcher
connects the camera at the substation with the video
monitor at the annunciator. The video connection remains
for the duration of the call.
Several RM5000/EX exchanges can be connected in a
network by use of interlink units IF500.

CRISIS ALERT FEA TURE
This enhancement to the system allows a supervised
monitoring and control system which provides pertinent
information to a security system or control position
operator. Incoming calls, busy field, priority or panic calls,
supervision of lines and more can be annunciated on one
or multiple CRT’ s in the system, with or without a time
delay .
The Crisis Alert System will also allow substations to be
programmed with different priority levels. There are nine
levels of priority from which to choose.
Alphanumeric identification is programmed for each
substation. This alphanumeric text is displayed on the
annunciator and/or printer devices when a call is placed
from a substation.
The RM5000/EX system is a platform, which continues to
DAD104, Digital Annunciator Display Module.
The DAD104 Digital Display module is part of the Crisis
Alert System. This system
provides for supervised lines
from remote locations that are
capable of being programmed to
annunciate a twelve character
alphanumeric message and also
show four simultaneous calls in
the display at one time. All other

provides a clock that will display military time (24 hour
mode) down to a second.
DAD 104 Features:
The DAD 104 is made to work in conjunction with the
Ring-Master RM5000/EX central and shall provide the
ability to display calls which may be originated from any
Ring-Master “AB” type station. When a contact closure
from a fire alarm, smoke detector or door contact is to be
digitally displayed, then the use of an AN100 Call-In
interface must be utilized. Any of the calls displayed may
be answered by a single stroke of the key associated with
the call. To park or cancel a call, only one stroke of the
correct key will be required. The system will provide 100 %
queuing of all incoming calls. Incoming calls will be
received at the DAD module with an alert tone that is
adjustable and the calls will flash in the display until the
call is answered. The status of all calls that are displayed
are described in the appropriate display window. (ie; call,
park, busy, talk or fault). The DAD module provides a
contact closure to drive other external devices at other
locations. (ie; strobes, louder buzzers). The wiring is
terminated on a removable screw terminal that makes for
ease of installation.
