The AlphaRefuge™ 2400 Series system Refuge
Call Center(s) shall be Alpha Communicat ions®

RCC2516CS (16-stat ion) or RCC2556CS (56-

stat ion), or RCC25112CS (112-stat ion),or
approved equal.

The Refuge Call Center(s) shall be Surface
Mount type and shall be heavy-duty st eel in a
powder coated finish, with twist lock closure.
The cabinet shall be able to accept a Fireman's
Lock (not provided by Alpha
Communications®). T he Refuge Call Center(s)
shall be programmable to c all out on a telephone
line to a 911 c all cent er or other emergency c all
locat ions.

These units shall be powered by a model

PWRAPC power supply (up to 36 remote call

boxes) or a model PWRAPC112 power supply (for
37 to 112 remote call boxes) and t he power
supply shall c ontain the built-in batt ery bac k-up
and charger c ircuitry required for t hese devices.

The RCC2516CS shall be c apable of c onnec ting
with up to (16) and the RCC2556CS shall be
capable of c onnecting with up t o (56) and
the RCC25112CS shall be capable
of c onnecting with up t o (112) of the RCB2400
series Refuge Call Boxes

The Refuge Call Center(s), shall be IBC, NFPA
and ADAAG code compliant, and shall also be
Elevator Code c ompliant.

Contractor shall observe all local and national
elect rical and building codes.

The Alpha Communicat ions® RCC2516CS (16-stat ion), RCC2556CS (56-
stat ion) and RCC25112CS (112-stat ion) Refuge Call Centers are used with the

AlphaRefuge™ 2400 Series Area of Refuge system, and are Surface Mount type built

into a loc kable painted cabinet. They are used with the RCB2400 Series Refuge Call
Boxes.

These Refuge Call Centers are powered by connec ting to the central PBX cont roller
and the PWRAPC or PWRAPC112 power supply unit.

The AlphaRefuge™ 2400 Series cent ral equipment power supply provides bac k-up
batt ery and c harging c ircuitry for the RCB2400 series remote call boxes as well as
the refuge command center.

Only one (1) PWRAPC power supply is needed per syst em for up to 36 RCB2400
series refuge call boxes. For syst ems with 37 to 112 RCB2400 series refuge c all
boxes, use t he PWRAPC112 power supply in place of t he PWRAPC unit.

Rescue personnel can pick up the Refuge Call Center handset and talk with the
Refuge Call Box(es) and any existing emergency call
Install the Refuge Call Center in a c entral location on t he first floor (wall
mount) or in an area approved by the loc al AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction)
IBC, NFPA, ADAAG Code Compliant and Elevat or Code c ompliant
