Specifications

The Serial to USB Adapter(s) shall be Alpha
Communications® AlphaEntry™ CA- USBSERV or
equivalent. The CA-USBSERV shall be used in
conjunction with t he AlphaEntry™, QwikBUS™ or
other PC or c omponents when a 9- pin 'Din' serial
connector needs to be used with a USB 2.0
connector on the PC.

The CA-USBSERV shall be USB 2.0 c ompliant,
and shall come with a 6 foot c able. T he CA-

USBSERV shall be bus powered and shall be true

bi-directional, plug and play type, and shall
support data rates up to 230.0 Kbps.

Contract or shall observe all local and national
elect rical and building codes.

CA-USBSERV Serial to USB Adapter

The Alpha Communicat ions® CA-USBSERV AlphaEntry™ Serial to USB Adapters are
designed to be used with a variety of AlphaEntry™, QwikBUS™ and ot her hardware
components that have a 9-pin 'Din' serial connector and need t o c onnect to a PC's
USB c onnect or, when a serial connect or is not available.

The CA-USBSERV device provides a simple and easy way to connec t Universal Serial
Bus (USB) into Serial port interfaces. With the advantage of a USB port, users have
the c apability to utilize the peripheral with serial port interface in an easy to
use environment such as plug and play & hot swap funct ion(s). This adapter is
designed with a dat a transfer rate of over 1Mbps.
