Architects' And Engineers' Specifications
The power supply shall be Alpha Communicat ions® / S.T.R.™
model VRU, or approved equal. Amplifier shall operate from a
16VAC (40VA) U.L. Listed transformer (model T1640). All wiring to
power supply shall be low-voltage Class II wiring, installed as per
all federal, stat e, and loc al elect rical codes.
Power supply shall surface mount right to the finished wall and
shall be installed in a suitable environment that is free from
excessive dirt, dust, temperature, humidity, grease and water.
Power supply shall provide t he DC signaling power for proper
system operation of up to four (4) video-interc om monitor units.
For most sec ure installation, power supply may be installed into a
lockable equipment cabinet/ housing.
Contract or shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.
VRU Power Supply
The Alpha Communicat ions® / S.T.R.™ VRU power supplies are
used with t he S.T.R.™ video-intercom systems, t o provide DC
power to operate up t o four (4) video monitor units.
The VRU units eac h require a 16VAC (40VA) low voltage Class II
(model T1640) transformer for power. Use one (1) plug-in
transformer for eac h VRU.
These VRU power supplies are designed to easily surface mount
right onto t he finished wall by means of customer supplied screws
or the c onvenient plastic 'Din Rail' bracket supplied with each
power supply. Connections are positive screw terminal type.
