Specifications

The key keeper(s) shall be Bommer 5620 (or

5621 or 5622) series, or approved equal, as

supplied by Alpha Communicat ions®. Key
Keeper(s) shall be constructed of extruded
aluminum. The key keeper(s) shall be ('loose
key',' retractor reel' or 'push-button' type).
The key keeper(s) shall be flush mounted
into the finished wall surfac e (or surfac e
mounted using the optional #5641 surface
frame assembly). The finish of the
key keeper shall mat ch the finish of t he
mailboxes, or lobby panel/directories (or as
specified by the architec t). The key keeper
door hinge shall be fully c oncealed to
minimize vandalism and unauthorized
opening.

Contract or shall install the key keeper as
per all U.S. Postal Servic e regulations. Key
keeper(s) shall include postal lock mounting
bracket and screws required. Key keeper(s)
shall be mounted (horizontally or vertically).

5620, 5621, 5622 Series Aluminum Flush Mount Key Keepers

The Bommer® 5620 and 5621 series flush mount key keepers are designed specifically to
mount in c onjunction with aluminum lobby panels, directories, and mail boxes.

The 5620 and 5621 series key keepers are U.S. Postal Approved, and are required when
mailboxes are installed behind a loc ked entry door. This allows the Postman acc ess t o the
mail boxes, without having t o bother (or wait for) any of the building's tenants. These
key keepers can be mounted vertically or horizontally and include the mounting brac ket
and screws for the installation of t he postal lock (supplied by the loc al post office).

The 5620 and 5621 series key keepers are designed to be flush mounted. If surface
mounting is required, you c an easily add the opt ional 5641 series surface c ollar. The 5620
series key keepers are either 'loose key' type or can be made with a built-in
momentary push-butt on (suffix 'PB'). T he 5621 series key keepers feature a key retractor
(reel) with 24" chain.

Note: An optional model 5622 is also available, which is the same as t he 5620 series,
except it has a 5-pin c am lock (and 2 keys) instead of the opening for the US
Postal Servic e lock, for privat e use.
