Liittimet / Portit:

1. Reset -painike: Tällä painikkeella voit palauttaa tehdasoletukset.

Paina noin 5~10 sekuntia esimerkiksi neulalla tai kynällä.

2. WPS –painike: Tätä painiketta käytetään langattoman verkon laajentamiseen.

3. RJ-45 -liitin: Tähän voit liittää tietokoneen tai reitittimen verkkokaapelilla.

4. EU –pistotulppa: Kytke laite verkkovirtaan tällä pistotulpalla.

Asennusvaatimukset:

- Pidä tuote kaukana lämpöä tuottavista laitteista

- Älä sijoita tuotetta pölyiseen tai kosteaan paikkaan

Etupaneelin valot/toiminnot:

1. Signaali -valo:

PALAA = Täysi signaali vastaanottoon / lähetykseen PIMEÄ = Ei täyttä signaalia

2. Signaali –valo:

PALAA = Kohtalainen signaali vastaanottoon / lähetykseen PIMEÄ = Ei kohtalaista signaalia

3. Signaali -valo:

PALAA = Heikko signaali vastaanottoon / lähetykseen PIMEÄ = Signaalia ei löydy tai se on hyvin heikko

** Todellinen nopeus määräytyy aina modeemin ja tietokoneen välisestä etäisyydestä ja esteistä niiden välillä, esim. seinät, sähköistykset, ym. Tässä ohjeessa ilmoitettu nopeus on vain suuntaa antava.

1. Asennuksen aloitus

(Yleistä tietoa laitteen käyttöönottoon)

Tehdasoletuksena WNR -toistimella on alla luetellut asetukset:

Operation mode = Repeater / AP IP-address = 192.168.1.1 DHCP server = Disabled WLAN SSID = WNRxxxx (xxxx=neljä viimeistä MAC -osoitteesta) Encryption = Enabled (WPA2 Mixed) WLAN password = 12345678 Management = admin / admin

WNR on oletuksena ”Repeater / AP” tilassa. Tehdasoletuksena WNR toimii tukiasemana langattomille laitteille ja tällöin xDSL modeemi tai reititin voidaan liittää WNR:n verkkoliittimeen, jolloin WNR siltaa Internet yhteyden langattomille laitteille. Vaihtoehtoisesti (Kohta 2) WPS painikkeella voidaan WNR liittää toiseen tukiasemaan, jolloin WNR toimii olemassa olevan langattoman verkon toistimena. Kohdassa 3 on ohjeet

tietokoneen IP – osoitteiden määrittämisestä Internet – yhteyttä varten.

Langaton verkko (AP)

Jos käytät WNR -toistimen langatonta oletusyhteyttä, voit yhdistää valmiiksi salattuun yhteyteen WNR -toistimen pohjassa olevan WLAN key – salasanan avulla. Myös langattoman verkon nimi (SSID) on jokaisella laitteella eri ja se löytyy myös WNR -toistimen pohjassa olevasta tarrasta.

Tietokoneen verkkoasetukset pitää olla ensin määritetty kohdan 3 mukaan. Tämän jälkeen voit yhdistää tietokoneen langattomasti. Kohdassa 4 on yleiset ohjeet kuinka Windows7 ja Windows8 yhdistetään suojattuun langattomaan verkkoon.

Tehdasasetusten palautus: Tarvittaessa tehdasasetukset palautetaan painamalla 5~10 sekuntia Reset

-painikkeesta laitteen sivupaneelista virran ollessa päällä.

2. Käyttöönotto WPS -painikkeella

(Kun halutaan laajentaa olemassa olevaa langatonta verkkoa)

1. Liitä WNR seinäpistokkeeseen lähelle reititintä tai modeemia

jonka langatonta verkkoa haluat laajentaa. Odota noin 2 minuuttia, että WNR on täysin käynnistynyt ja toimintakunnossa (Vihreä Linkki – valo palaa).

2. Paina reitittimen tai modeemin WPS -painikkeesta 2 sekuntia.

(Huom! jos reitittimessä tai modeemissa ei ole WPS –painiketta,

lue ohjeet ”Web Configuration Guide” oppaasta kohdasta

”Connect to the AP as repeater”)

3. Paina WNR -toistimen WPS -painikkeesta noin 5 sekuntia, jolloin

WNR yhdistää automaattisesti langattomaan tukiasemaan.

4. Kun WNR –toistimen vihreä linkki -valo sammuu ja syttyy

uudelleen sinisenä, on verkon laajennus valmis ja WNR –toistimen voi sijoittaa etäämmälle jolloin verkon kattavuus paranee.

5. Halutessasi voit myös liittää esim. tietokoneen tai tulostimen

verkkokaapelilla WNR –toistimen RJ-45 liittimeen, jolloin se toimii samassa laajennetussa verkossa.

3. Verkkoasetukset Internet -yhteyttä varten

(Määritä nämä kun haluat käyttää Internet:iä)

Windows 7

1. Valitse Käynnistä -> Ohjauspaneeli.

2. Paina linkkiä Näytä verkon tila ja tehtävät ja paina tämän jälkeen linkistä Muuta

sovittimen asetuksia.

3. Paina verkkoyhteytesi kuvakkeen päältä oikean puoleisella hiiren painikkeella ja

valitse Ominaisuudet.

4. Valitse Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Paina Ominaisuudet.

5. Valitse Hanki IP –osoite automaattisesti ja Hae DNS –palvelimen osoite

automaattisesti.

6. Hyväksy Internet-protokolla (TCP/IP) ominaisuudet painamalla OK.

7. Hyväksy vielä Lähiverkkoyhteyden ominaisuudet, paina Sulje.

8. Nyt työasema on valmis internet -yhteyttä varten.

Windows 8

1. Paina Työpöytä – kuvakkeesta Windows 8:n aloitusruudulta.

2. Paina hiiren oikean puoleista painiketta ruudun alareunassa olevasta

verkkokuvakkeesta.

3. Valitse ”Avaa Verkko- ja jakamiskeskus”.

4. Paina linkistä Muuta sovittimen asetuksia.

5. Paina verkkoyhteytesi kuvakkeen päältä oikean puoleisella hiiren painikkeella ja

valitse Ominaisuudet.

6. Valitse Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Paina Ominaisuudet.

7. Valitse Hanki IP –osoite automaattisesti ja Hae DNS –palvelimen osoite

automaattisesti.

8. Hyväksy Internet-protokolla (TCP/IP) ominaisuudet painamalla OK.

9. Hyväksy vielä Lähiverkkoyhteyden ominaisuudet, paina Sulje.

10. Nyt työasema on valmis internet -yhteyttä varten.

Mac OS

1. Avaa AppleTalk -säädin, valitse kytkennäksi Ethernet.

2. Avaa TCP/IP -säädin ja tee seuraavat asetukset:

- Kytkentä = Ethernet

- Määrittelytapa = DHCP -palvelin

3. Tallenna. Nyt työasema on valmis internet -yhteyttä varten.

4. Tietokoneen yhdistäminen langattomaan verkkoon

Windows7

1. Avaa langattomat yhteydet –kuvake työpöydän oikeasta alakulmasta.

2. Valitse verkonnimi WNRxxxx* ja paina Yhdistä.

3. Kirjoita salasana* ja paina OK.

Connectors / Ports:

1. Reset button: With this button, you can reset to factory defaults.

Press button about 5~10 seconds with for example needle or pen.

2. WPS button: This button is used to repeat your wireless network.

3. RJ-45 connector: You can connect your computer or router via Ethernet cable.

4. EU power plug: Insert this power plug to your wall outlet.

Installation requirements:

- Keep the product away from heating devices

- Do not keep product in dusty or wet place

Front panel led’s/functions:

1. Signal led:

ON = Full signal for receive / transmit

OFF = No full signal available

2. Signal led:

ON = Average signal for receive / transmit

OFF = No average signal available

3. Signal led:

ON = Weak signal for receive / transmit OFF = No signal or its very weak

4. Link led (BLUE / GREEN):

Repeater mode

BLUE ON = Wireless network repeated / connected to AP BLUE FLASH = Data transfer on wireless network GREEN ON = No connection to AP AP mode GREEN ON = AP mode is activated GREEN FLASH = Data transfer on wireless network GREEN OFF = AP is not activated

PC. For example, walls, electricity, etc… The speed shown in this guide is only illustrative

purposes only.

1. Getting started

(General information of product introduction)

WNR repeater have below settings as factory defaults:

Operation mode = Repeater / AP IP-address = 192.168.1.1 DHCP server = Disabled WLAN SSID = WNRxxxx (xxxx=last four from modem MAC address) Encryption = Enabled (WPA2 Mixed) WLAN password = 12345678 Management = admin / admin

WNR is an ”Repeater / AP” mode in defaults. WNR repeater operates as wireless access point in factory defaults and you can connect your xDSL modem or router to WNR Ethernet connector, when WNR bridge your Internet connection to your wireless devices. Alternatively (Step 2) you can use WPS button to connect WNR to your access point and repeat your existing wireless network. On Step 3 you can find instructions to configure your PC IP

addresses for Internet connection.

Wireless network (AP)

If you use WNR repeater wireless network, you can connect to the pre-encrypted wireless network with WLAN key password found from WNR sticker. The wireless network name (SSID) is different on every device and it can be found from product sticker as well.

First your PC network settings must be configured as step 3 instructed. After that you can connect your PC with wireless network. On Step 4 is general instructions how to connect Windows7 and Windows8 to the encrypted wireless network.

Reset to factory defaults: You can reset to factory defaults by press the Reset button about 5~10 seconds at side panel of the device when power on.

2. Setup with WPS button

(When you need to get more coverage for your wireless network)

1. Plug the WNR to the wall socket which is near your router or

modem which wireless coverage you want to extend. Wait about 2 minutes, so WNR has been fully booted up (Green Link –led is ON).

2. Press your router or modem WPS button 2 seconds. (Note! If your

router or modem does not have WPS button, read the instructions from Web Configuration Guide, step ”Connect to the AP as repeater”)

3. Press WNR repeater WPS button about 5 seconds and WNR will

connect automatically to your wireless AP.

4. When WNR repeater Green Link led go OFF and turn ON as Blue

color, your wireless network extension is ready and now you can place the WNR repeater far enough for more wireless coverage.

5. If you want, you can connect for example PC or printer to WNR

RJ-45 connector via Ethernet cable, when it will work in same extended network.

3. Network settings for Internet connection

(Modify/check these settings when you want to use Internet)

Windows 7

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel.

2. Press View network status and tasks and then press a link Change adapter settings.

3. Move mouse over Local Area Connection icon and press right hand mouse button on

it. Choose Properties.

4. Choose Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Press Properties.

5. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server

address automatically.

6. In properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), press OK.

7. Press OK in Network settings.

8. Now your workstation is ready for Internet

Windows 8

1. Press Desktop – icon on Windows 8 start screen.

2. Press your mouse right hand button on network icon located at task bar.

3. Choose ”Open Network and Sharing Center”.

4. Press a link Change adapter settings.

5. Move mouse over Local Area Connection icon and press right hand mouse button on

it. Choose Properties.

6. Choose Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Press Properties.

7. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server

address automatically.

8. In properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), press OK.

9. Press OK in Network settings.

10. Now your workstation is ready for Internet

Mac OS

1. Open AppleTalk -controller, choose Ethernet connection

2. Open TCP/IP -controller and modify these settings: Connection = Ethernet Definition = DHCP-server

3. Save settings. Now your workstation is ready for Internet

4. Connect your PC to the wireless network

Windows7

1. Open wireless network icon from right side of task bar.

2. Choose network name WNRxxxx* and press Connect.

* Network name can be found from product sticker. See the step 1.

3. Type password* and press OK.

* Password can be found from product sticker. See the step 1.

Windows8

1. Open wireless network icon from right side of task bar.

2. Choose network name WNRxxxx* and press Connect.

1 Overview

The WNR repeater is designed to provide a simple and cost-effective wireless network extender for a 802.11b/802.11g/802.11n wireless network. It is preferred to provide high access performance applications for the individual users, the SOHOs, and the small enterprises.

2 Getting started

2.1 Set up the Ethernet connection (Win7)

Step 1 Connect Ethernet RJ-45 cable from WNR to your PC and plug the WNR

to your wall outlet.

Step 2 After WNR booted up, network icon on right side of task bar have

yellow mark on it. Press the icon and press “Open Network and Sharing Center” link to configure IP addresses for connection.

Step 3 On Network and Sharing Center, press “Change adapter settings”.

Step 4 Press right side mouse button on “Local area Connection” and choose

“Properties” from menu.

Step 5 Choose “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IP)” and press “Properties”.

Step 6 Choose “Use the following IP address” and type following IP addresses:

IP address: 192.168.1.2 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Step 7 Follow next steps to configure WNR. After WNR configured, you need to

change IP address settings back to “Obtain an IP address

automatically” from Local area connection as shown on steps 2 – 6.

3 Web Configuration

3.1 Logging in to the repeater

Step 1 Open a Web browser on your computer. Enter http://192.168.1.1 (the

default IP address of the WNR repeater) in the address bar. The login page appears.

Step 2 Enter the user name and the password in the login page, click OK.

The default username and password of the super user are admin and admin.

After logging in to the WNR repeater as a super user, you can query, configure, and modify all the settings, and diagnose the system.

3.2 Repeater mode

3.2.1 Connect to the AP as repeater

Step 1 Click the operating mode “Repeater” and press “Site survey” to list all

AP’s.

Step 2 Select the AP you want to connect to on list and type AP “Pre-shared key”.

Press “Save/Apply”.

Step 3 WNR will be rebooted.

Step 4 Now after settings saved and router rebooted, you need to change back

to “Obtain an IP address automatically” from Local area connection as

shown on steps 2 – 6.

3.3 Access Point mode

3.3.1 Quick setup

WNR repeater have Repeater mode as factory defaults and it work still as AP if other connections are not repeated. If you are planning to use only AP mode without repeater, its recommended to follow below steps to enable AP only mode.

Step 1 Click the operating mode “Access Point” and press Save/Apply button.

Step 2 WNR will be rebooted.

Step 3 Now your WNR is configured to be as AP only mode. You can use factory

default settings (SSID/encryption) or setup your own.

3.3.2 Basic Settings

From Advanced menu, choose Wireless > Basic Settings to display the following page.

This page allows you to configure the basic features of the wireless LAN interface. It is recommended to change default Network name (SSID).

 Disable Wireless LAN interface: Enable or disable the wireless function.  Country Region: The name of the country with which your WNR is

configured. This parameter further specifies your wireless connection. For example, The channel will adjust according to nations to adapt to each nation's frequency provision.

 Wireless Band: All supported bands are enabled as default. you can also

use only one or two wireless band at time.

 Network Name (SSID): For the security reason, you should change the

default SSID to a unique name.

 Channel Band: 40MHz channel band is used as default to let more wireless

performance for WNR.

 Control Side Band: If static channel is set, you can use either Upper or

Lower bands. As defaults, this is automatically adjusted.

 Channel: All available channels can be set as static value. This setting is

automatically adjusted in defaults.

 Hidden SSID: if you want to hide your WNR, select this option, and then

clients cannot obtain the SSID through the passive scanning.

 WMM: When this option enabled, the transmission performance multimedia

of the voice and video data can be improved.

 Data Rate: You can manually adjust static network speed for wireless

connections. This setting is automatically adjusted in defaults.

 Associated Clients: When press the ”Show Active Clients” button, you can

see pop-up window with all associated clients listed.

 Enable MAC Clone (Single Ethernet Client): This feature is not enabled for

AP mode.

 Enable Universal Repeater Mode (Acting as AP and client

simultaneously): This feature is for repeater mode and not being used in AP

mode.

 SSID of Extended interface: This feature is for repeater mode and not

being used in AP mode.

After finishing setting, click Save/Apply to save the basic wireless settings and make the settings take effect.

3.3.3 Wireless Security

Choose Wireless > Security Settings to display the following page.

This page allows you to protect your wireless network by setting the encryption. This page provides 9 types of network authentication modes, the most common and security mode is WPA Mixed. First select the WPA Mixed to Auth. and Encryption. After all security settings done, press Save/Apply button.

 Select SSID: Select a SSID for configuring the security settings.  Auth. and Encryption: Select the WPA Mixed mode.  WPA Cipher Suite: You may select TKIP and/or AES.  WPA2 Cipher Suite: You may select TKIP and/or AES.  Pre-Shared Key Format: Select the Passphrase.  Pre-Shared Key: The key for your wireless network. Password must be over

8 characters long.
