1. Disconnect the negative battery cables.
Unlatch all four clips on the factory airbox.
4. Disconnect the electronic filter restriction
gauge wiring harness, remove the restriction
gauge, and the rubber grommet. (N ote: retain
these parts for reuse.) Remove the air filter inlet
tube and hose assembly (see inset picture). USE
CAUTION when r emoving these elemen t s, a s
it is a tight fit. Be careful not to tear the factory
insulation around the radiator support.
2. Remove the factory airbox by separating the
inlet and outlet sections of the assembly.
5. STOP AND LOOK! If you have a tempera-
ture sensor like this, disconnect the t emper a-
ture sensor wiring harness, remove the sensor
from the tube (save it for reuse) and proceed to
step #8. The early production 2005 F-250 and F350 6.0 diesel trucks either came with a temperature sensor, or they came with a Mass Air Flow
(MAF) sensor . These pictures will help you determine which sensor you have. Whichever sensor you have, this Airaid Intake System will fit.
3. The factory airbox is held in place by two
rubber grommets. Pull straight up and remove
the box. (Note: make sure the factory grom-
mets remain in the lower airbox support.)

6. IF YOU HAVE A MASS AIR FLOW
SENSOR LIKE THIS, A .) Disconnect the
MAF sensor wir ing har ness, r emove the
two screws using the provided T-20 security
bit, and remove the sensor. (Note: retain the
sensor for reuse.) B.) Using a 5/16” socket,
loosen the hose clamp on the end of the intake
tube.
7. Remove the factory intake tube assembly.
(Note: do not remove the factory flexible turbo
inlet hose from the turbo housing.)
B.

8. A.) If you ha ve the temperature sensor shown
in step #5, install the supplied grommet (#9) as
shown above. B.) Install the factory air temperature sensor as shown and then the factory grommet and filter restriction gauge. Skip to step #10.

9. A.) If you ha ve the MAF sensor shown in
step # 6, install the gasket (#12) and sensor
using two (black) 8-32x5/8” button head bolts
(#11). B.) Install the factory grommet and
filter restriction gauge.

10. Slide the Airaid Intake Tube (#3) into the
factory flexible turbo inlet hose. (N ote: Do not
tighten the hose clamp until assembly is complete.) Reconnect the sensor wiring harness (to
the temperature sensor, or the MAF sensor,
whichever is present on your vehicle.)
13. Tighten the hose clamp where the factory
flexible turbo inlet tube slides over the Airaid
Intake Tube.
11. A.) Install the Airaid Cool Air Box (#2) by
inserting the long extension of the box into the
radiator support. (Note: Make sure the cool air
box inlet is not blocked by the factory insulation.)
B.) Insert the Airaid Intake Tube into the air box
hole.
14. Factory tolerances may vary between the
MAF sensor a nd the coolant r eser voir . Ther e-
fore, it may be necessary to loosen the two 5/16”
mounting bolts and adjust the reservoir for better
clearance.
12. A.) Insert two billet rivet/box mounts (#10)
through the bottom of the Airaid Cool Air Box and
into the factory grommets. B.) Using four stainless
steel ¼-20x1/2” button head bolts (#6) and 1/4” flat
washers (#7), mount the Airaid Intake Tube to the
airbox.
15. Install the Airaid Premium Filter (#1) onto the
Airaid Intake Tube inside of the airbox, and tighten
the hose clamp.
16. Install the Top Panel (#4) onto the top of the
Airaid Cool Air Box using five stainless steel ¼20x1/2” button head bolts (#6) and 1/4” flat washers (#7).
19. Double check your work!
Make sure there is no foreign material in
17. Install the weather strip (#5) around the edges
of the top panel. (Hint: Start at one corner of the
panel and work to the other end.)
20. Reconnect the negative battery cables!
18. Spread the black hose mount (#8) over the radi-
ator overflow hose and insert the tab through the
hole in the side of the top panel.
the intake path. Make sure all clamps,
hoses, bolts, and screws are tight.

Synthamax Air Filters do not require oil.
Service air filter as needed by cleaning with
common non-petroleum all-purpose household cleaner and water. Simple Green®,
Formula 409® or equivalent works great.
Apply cleaner to outside of air filter and allow to soak. Then flush filter clean from the
