Door Station with Standalone Prox Reader
- INSTRUCTIONS -
The AX-DV-XP and AX-DVF-XP are color audio-video door stations for Aiphone’s AX-series, containing a standalone proximity card reader with embedded host controller. Capable of storing up to 5,000 sets of credentials (cards) and operating completely independent of an external host controller or PC, the AX-DV-XP and AX-DVF-XP are ideal for all installations where reliable, inexpensive and easy-to-manage access control is desired.
Note: Programming of the AX-DV-XP and AX-DVF-XP requires Aiphone’s XP-KIT Programming Starter Kit for -XP series standalone proximity card readers.

MOUNTING & INSTALLATION
Installation Location:
Care should be taken when choosing the best location for mounting the AX-DV-XP / AXDVF-XP. Do not install the video door station in any areas subject to direct sunlight or other strong direct lighting conditions; installation in such locations may cause reduced visibility and/or video quality while viewing from the master station.

Mounting Height & Viewing Angle:
Because the AX-DV-XP and AX-DVF-XP contain a fixed-angle camera element, mounting height and placement relative to the entry should be taken into consideration. The recommended mounting height and corresponding viewing angle are shown, at left.
Physical Mounting Instructions:
1. AX-DV-XP – provide mounting box or wall opening
sufficient for both the CAT-5e cable (from the AX CEU) and the -XP series card reader wire pigtail (Fig. 1), noting the offset location of the reader pigtail (Fig. 2).
AX-DVF-XP – provide wall surface opening for rough-in backbox (supplied), using dimensions shown (Fig. 3). Note: if surface mount is required, use the Aiphone SBX-DVLF- (sold separately) .
2. Open the protective door and connect the CAT-5e cable (RJ45) from the AX CEU to the AX-DV-XP or AX-DVF-XP station, carefully routing the wire in one of the two possible directions, as shown (Fig.
2). Be careful to avoid damaging the wire jacket when securing the protective door.
3. AX-DV-XP – Secure the door station to the wall surface using the provided mounting screws and/or anchors, as
-XP Series Prox Reader Pigtail
shown (Fig. 1). Secure the vandal resistant chassis using the security driver (provided).
