Assembly Instructions
1. Preparing for installation
A. Disconnect electrical power before installing or servicing any part of this fixture. B. Carefully remove shade (1) from separate packaging. C. Remove round white threaded socket cover ring from socket (3). D. Install #8-32 x 1” screws (provided) into appropriate threaded holes or slots of Universal
round mounting plate (not shown). Canopy holes (5) should be in the horizontal position for single lamp and vertical for dual lamp models. Adjust screw length to allow for decorative nuts (7). Lock screws in position with lock washers and hex nuts provided.

2. Wiring.
All wiring must take place inside junction box.
Caution: Make sure power is off at fuse or circuit breaker box. Check power wires for damage or
scrapes. If power supply wires are within three inches of ballast use wire suitable for at least 90C (194F). Note: Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated to 60C. Consult a qualified electrician before installing.
A. This unit will not operate properly unless connected to a “grounded” electrical circuit.
Electrical shock, over heating, low or no light output, and shortened lamp life can result if proper grounding is not done. Securely attach green (or green and yellow) wire to green ground screw on universal round mounting plate with provided hardware.
B. Using wire connectors (provided), connect white supply wire to white ballast lead. Connect black hot supply wire to black
ballast lead. Do not mix wires. Pull on each wire lead to make sure connections are secure. Make certain no bare wires are exposed outside of wire connectors.
3. Fixture mounting.
A. Universal round mounting plate – mount plate to junction box (not supplied) with appropriate screws (supplied). Canopy
holes (5) should be in the horizontal position for single lamp and vertical for dual lamp models.
B. Position Canopy (4) over screws in mounting plate and attach securely with decorative nuts (7). If not fastening tightly,
repeat step 1D.
4. Shade installation
A. Mount shade (1) by sliding onto socket base. B. Reach down from top opening of shade and secure shade (1) to socket base with round white threaded socket cover ring (3).
Wide lip of ring down.
