For the environment’s sake
Do not simply throw out the packaging material and used appliances.
Appliance packaging:
• The packaging cardboard can be taken to a recovered paper
collection site.
• The plastic bag made of polyethylene (PE) can be handed in at PE
collection points in order to be recycled.
Recycling the appliance at the end of its useful life:
• The plastic parts are marked with a material code such that at the
end of the appliance’s useful life it can be handed in for recycling as
for the other materials.
Please contact your city council to obtain the details of your local
recycling centre.
The VAMPYR MULTI 3 in 1/MULTI Pro 3 in 1 is a multipurpose vacuum
cleaner to be used for the dry vacuum cleaning of dust, sand, gravel,
shavings and foliage; for the wet vacuum cleaning of liquids, blocked
wash basins and gutters, and is also a spray vacuum cleaner to be used
for the wet cleaning of carpets, upholstered furniture and hard
flooring.
As well as being designed for use in living quarters, the appliance can
also be used in basements, workshops, workrooms and in the garage.
In order to facilitate thorough cleaning of carpets and upholstery when
spray vacuum cleaning, a special cleaning fluid is sprayed on the
carpets or upholstery and is vacuumed up together with the released
dirt in the same step.
Before using the appliance for the first time
Please read carefully the following information listed. It provides
important tips for the safety, use and maintenance of the appliance.
Please retain this instruction manual for later reference and pass it on
to any subsequent owner of the appliance.
1 Safety instructions
• Only connect the appliance to AC – 220/230 volts.
• The electric circuit for the power outlet used must be fused with at
least a 10 A or 10 A delayed-action fuse.
• Prior to maintenance or cleaning ensure that the appliance has been
switched off and that the power plug has been disconnected.
• Never disconnect the power plug by pulling on the cable.
• Do not place the appliance in operation if:
– the cable is damaged.
– there is visible damage to the housing.
– the motor component has previously fallen off.
• Tasks other than those described herein must not be performed with
the appliance.
• Children must not use the appliance unsupervised. (The cleaning
concentrate must not be handled by children.)

• The manufacturer is not liable for possible damage arising as a result
of unintended use or incorrect operation of the appliance.
• When dry vacuum cleaning always insert both a foam filter and a
paper filter. Remove both filters when wet vacuum cleaning or spray
vacuum cleaning.
• The motor protection filter must be inserted for all types of
vacuuming.
• People and animals must not be vacuumed using the appliance.
• Nozzles and tubes which are attached to the appliance must not be
placed near the head (danger exists for eyes and ears).
• Never vacuum up matches, hot ashes or burning hot objects.
• Do not vacuum up solvent-containing or flammable liquids such as
paint thinner, oil, petrol, or caustic liquids.
• Important: This model of the appliance is not suitable for vacuuming
harmful types of dust.
• Never use the appliance in rooms in which flammable substances are
stored or in which gasses have accumulated.
• Do not leave the appliance outdoors or directly exposed to moisture.
• Never direct the jet of detergent spray at power outlets or electrical
appliances.
• Empty the container after wet vacuum cleaning and spray vacuum
cleaning.
• The power plug must be disconnected:
– if a fault occurs during operation of the appliance;
– each time a filter is changed;
– prior to cleaning and carrying out maintenance work;
– after use.
• Avoid running over the cable with the appliance or the nozzle. This
could damage the insulation.
• Faulty cables can be replaced by the AEG Customer Service or an
authorised workshop.
• Repairs to electrical appliances may only be carried out by qualified
service engineers. Improper repairs can give rise to significant hazards
for the user.
For this reason, in the event of a fault please contact your specialist
dealer or the AEG Customer Service.

The bottom rollers are enclosed loosely for
packaging-related reasons. They are however
easy to assemble:
Pull the two vice action latches outwards and
lift off the motor head.
0 Remove the detergent tank from the dust
container.
0 Position the dust container with its opening
downwards.
To facilitate assembly, lightly grease the metal
pins that belong to the bottom rollers.
First push the metal pins into the base of the
dust container and then press it and the rollers
together as far as they will go.

Dry vacuum cleaning
Preparation
Important: If the appliance has been used for
wet vacuum cleaning beforehand it must be
absolutely dry for this purpose; dry the hose and
pipes beforehand if necessary.
The motor protection filter must always be
inserted into the suction hole.
The thin hose attached to the motor head is
required only for spray vacuum cleaning.
When dry vacuum cleaning, press the end of the
hose into the retainer located on the motor head.
Insert the filter
0 First lift the foam filter then the fine paper filter
out of the filter basket and attach both filters by
pressing the tension ring.
Secure the tension ring by pivoting the two
brackets.
Insert a paper filter if required
In general a paper filter should be inserted when
dry vacuuming.
0 Hold the paper filter by the cardboard edge and
firmly press it onto the suction hole. The paper
filter must touch closely against the side of the
dust container wall so that it is not damaged by
the filter basket when gently replacing the
motor head.
Attach the motor head:
0 Motorkopf so auf den Schmutzbehälter
aufsetzen, dass sich die Schalter senkrecht über
der Ansaugöffnung befinden.Attach the motor
head onto the dust container such that the
switch islocated vertically above the suction
hole.
Then press the two vice action latches.

Connecting the vacuuming hose and vacuuming pipes
0 Insert the hose inserts into the suction hole as in
the picture and turn it to the right until it locks
into place.
To remove the vacuuming hose, twist the hose
inserts to the left and remove.
At the other end of the vacuuming hose, first
connect the vacuuming pipe without hook-in
pins and then the one with pins; do this in such a way that the hook-in
pins are pointed backwards when in the operating position.
After this the carpet nozzle or the accessory of choice can be attached.
Working with the nozzles when dry vacuuming
The nozzles are all attached to the vacuuming pipe by pressing and
twisting and are removed by pulling and twisting.
Universal flooring nozzle’s carpet nozzle
For cleaning carpeting and hard flooring.
The switch-over buttons can be adjusted by foot
to suit the type of flooring.
for carpeting

- brush bristles are retracted
for smooth flooring

Upholstery nozzle
For vacuuming all types of upholstered
furniture, mattresses etc.

Groove nozzle
For vacuuming grooves, corners and narrow
gaps.
To ease comfort of use, the upholstery and
groove nozzles can also be used with only one
vacuuming pipe or can be connected directly to
the handle of the vacuuming hose.
Vacuuming brush
For vacuuming furniture, PC keyboards etc. To
ease comfort of use, the vacuuming brush can
be connected directly to the vacuuming pipe or
to the handle of the vacuuming hose.
Switching on the appliance
0 Caution: Before commencing dry vacuuming always ensure that the
foam filter and paper filter have been inserted, as otherwise the dust
that is vacuumed up will be released unfiltered into the room.
The dust container, pipes and hose must be absolutely dry.
The rotary switch must be pointing to ”0”.
The rocker switch must be pressed in the
direction of the flooring nozzle symbol ””,
as otherwise possible damage to the pump may
occur.
To switch the appliance on, turn the rotary
switch to the ”I” symbol.
Important: The rocker switch must not be
illuminated.
