1 Sicherheitshinweise

Die Sicherheit dieses Geräts entspricht den anerkannten Regeln der Technik und dem Gerätesicherheitsgesetz. Dennoch sehen wir uns als Hersteller veranlaßt, Sie mit den nachfolgenden Sicherheitshinweisen vertraut zu machen.

Allgemeine Sicherheit

• Das Gerät darf nur an ein Stromnetz angeschlossen werden, dessen Spannung und Frequenz mit der Angabe auf dem Typschild übereinstimmt.

• Netzkabel nicht über scharfe Kanten ziehen, einklemmen oder herunterhängen lassen. Netzkabel vor Hitze und Feuchtigkeit schützen.

• Den Netzstecker nie an der Anschlussleitung aus der Steckdose ziehen.

• Das Netzkabel des Gerätes kann nicht ersetzt werden. Bei Beschädigung des Kabels oder des Netzsteckers ist das Gerät zu entsorgen.

• Vor jeder Inbetriebnahme das Gerät auf einwandfreien Zustand kontrollieren, es darf nicht in Betrieb genommen werden, wenn: – die Zuleitung beschädigt ist

– das Gerät sichtbare Schäden auf-

weist

– das Gerät einmal heruntergefallen

sein sollte

• Netzkabel nie um das Gerät wickeln.

• Das Netzkabel darf keine heißen Geräteteile berühren und nie zwischen den Glättplatten geführt werden.

• Netzstecker nur bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät in die Steckdose einstecken.

• Der Einbau einer Fehlerstromschutzeinrichtung mit einem Nennauslösestrom von weniger als 30 mA in der Hausinstallation bietet zusätzlichen Schutz. Wenden Sie sich an Ihren Elektroinstallateur.

• Reparaturen an diesem Gerät dürfen nur von Fachkräften durchgeführt werden. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren entstehen. Wenden Sie sich im Reparaturfall an den Kundendienst oder an Ihren autorisierten Fachhändler.

• Dieses Gerät ist nicht dazu bestimmt, von Personen (einschließlich Kinder), die aufgrund Ihrer Unerfahrenheit oder Unkenntnis nicht in der Lage sind es sicher zu bedienen oder von Personen (einschließlich Kinder) mit eingeschränkten physischen, sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten, benutzt oder betrieben zu werden, es sei denn sie wurden durch eine für sie verantwortliche Person angewiesen wie das Gerät sicher zu benutzen ist und anfäglich von ihr beaufsichtigt.

Sicherheit von Kindern

• Kinder erkennen nicht die Gefahren, die beim Umgang mit Elektrogeräten entstehen können, deshalb Kinder niemals unbeaufsichtigt mit Elektrogeräten arbeiten lassen.

• Kinder müssen beaufsichtigt werden um sicherzustellen, dass sie nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

• Verpackungsmaterial, wie z.B. Folienbeutel, gehören nicht in Kinderhände.

Das sollten Sie beim Betrieb des Haarglätters beachten

• Das Gerät darf weder mit brennbaren Materialien in Berührung kommen, noch in der Nähe von brennbaren Materialien in Betrieb genommen werden, da die Glättplatten Temperaturen von ca. 200 °C erreichen.

• Achtung! Verbrennungsgefahr durch Glättplatten und heiße Geräteteile. Fassen Sie niemals auf oder in die Nähe der Glättplatten, wenn das Gerät in Betrieb ist. Die Glättplatten können Verbrennungen verursachen. Vermeiden Sie jeglichen Haut- oder Augenkontakt. Das Gerät nie in heißem Zustand transportieren.

• Achtung! Gefahr durch elektrischen Schlag. Das Gerät nicht mit nassen Händen, in der Badewanne, Dusche oder über einem gefüllten Waschbekken benutzen. Sollte das Gerät dennoch einmal ins Wasser fallen, sofort den Netzstecker ziehen. Keinesfalls ins Wasser greifen, wenn das Gerät noch angeschlossen ist.

• Achtung! Gefahr durch elektrischen Schlag. Wenn das Gerät in einem Badezimmer verwendet wird, ist nach Gebrauch der Stecker zu ziehen, da die Nähe von Wasser eine Gefahr darstellt, auch wenn das Gerät ausgeschaltet ist.

• Das Gerät darf niemals im zusammen- geklapptem Zustand in Betrieb genommen werden. Achten Sie darauf, dass das Gerät geöffnet ist.

• Das Gerät im Betrieb nie auf weiche Kissen oder Decken legen.

• Glättplatten niemals mit Gegenständen, welcher Art auch immer, abdecken.

• Nach Gebrauch oder längeren Unterbrechungen, Netzstecker ziehen und Gerät abkühlen lassen.

• Gerät und Netzkabel nicht auf heiße Flächen wie Herdplatten o.ä. stellen bzw. legen und nicht in direkte Nähe von offenen Flammen bringen.

• Achtung! Verbrennungsgefahr durch Haarspray. Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie vor der Anwendung keine leicht entflammbaren Mittel wie z. B. Haarspray oder Fixierer auf Ihr Haar sprühen. Bei Berührung mit den Glättplatten kann dies zu Verbrennungen führen.

• Das Gerät darf nur an trockenem, natürlichem Haar, niemals an Kunsthaar angewendet werden.

• Das Gerät ist nicht zum Glätten von Tierhaaren geeignet.

• Der Netzstecker ist zu ziehen: – bei Störungen während des

Betriebes – vor jeder Reinigung – nach dem Gebrauch

• Gerät nicht am Netzkabel ziehen oder tragen.

• Personen mit motorischen Störungen sollten nie ohne Begleitperson das Gerät in Betrieb nehmen, um eine Gefährdung zu vermeiden.

Sicherheit bei Reinigung und Pflege

• Bei Betriebsstörungen und vor jeder Reinigung und Pflege, Netzstecker ziehen und Gerät abkühlen lassen.

• Achtung! Gefahr durch elektrischen Schlag. Das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit schützen. Niemals in die Spülmaschine legen. Nicht ins Wasser tauchen.

Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch

• Das Gerät ist ausschließlich zum Glätten und Stylen von menschlichen Haupthaaren bestimmt. Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet eingesetzt oder falsch bedient, kann vom Hersteller keine Haftung für eventuelle Schäden übernommen werden.

• Das Gerät ist nicht für den gewerblichen Gebrauch bestimmt.

Entsorgung

Verpackungsmaterial

Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind umweltverträglich und wiederverwertbar. Die Kunststoffteile sind gekennzeichnet, z. B. >PE<, >PS< etc. Entsorgen Sie die Verpackungsmaterialien entsprechend ihrer Kennzeichnung bei den kommunalen Entsorgungsstellen in den dafür vorgesehenen Sammelbehältern.

Das Symbol W auf dem Produkt

oder seiner Verpackung weist darauf hin, dass dieses Produkt nicht als normaler Haushaltsabfall zu behandeln ist, sondern an einem Sammelpunkt für das Recycling von elektrischen und elektronischen Geräten abgegeben werden muss. Bedienungshinweise

Vorbereitung der Haare

0 Waschen Sie Ihr Haar und trocknen Sie

es anschließend.

0 Kämmen Sie Ihr Haar gründlich durch,

benutzen Sie kein Haarspray oder andere chemische Haarpflegeprodukte, die leicht entflammbar sind.

0 Legen Sie sich ein Handtuch um den

Nacken, um ihn vor möglichen Verbrennungen zu schützen.

Gerät einschalten (Abb. 2)

Das Gerät darf niemals in zusammen-

geklapptem Zustand in Betrieb genommen werden.

0 Öffnen Sie das Gerät, indem Sie die

Verriegelung (Abb. 1/F) in die Stellung

schieben

0 Stecken Sie den Netzstecker ein und

schalten Sie das Gerät mit dem Ein-/ Aus-Schalter (Abb. 1/C) ein. Die grüne Ein-/Aus-Kontrollleuchte (Abb. 1/D) leuchtet.

Die Aufheizdauer beträgt ca.

4 Minuten, danach hat das Gerät seine Betriebstemperatur erreicht.

Haare glätten bei langem Haar (Abb. 3, 4)

0 Halten Sie das Gerät im Griffbereich

(Abb. 1/B) fest, immer in einem sicheren Abstand zu Haut und Augen. Benutzen Sie einen Spiegel.

0 Teilen Sie Ihr Haar in ca. 4 cm breite

Strähnen.

0 Halten Sie das Gerät, wie z. B. in Abb. 3

gezeigt, in der Hand.

0 Beginnen Sie am Haaransatz und legen

Sie die vorbereiteten Strähnen einzeln zwischen die Glättplatten (Abb. 1/E) (Abb. 3).

0 Klappen Sie das Gerät zu und ziehen

Sie den Haarglätter langsam vom Haaransatz zu den Haarspitzen durch (Abb. 4).

0 Wiederholen Sie diesen Vorgang

solange, bis das Haar die gewünschte Glätte erreicht hat.

0 Nach Beendigung des Stylings, Haare

abkühlen lassen und durchkämmen.

Haare glätten bei kurzem Haar

0 Vorgehensweise wie zuvor beschrieben,

allerdings hierbei das Gerät nicht durchziehen sondern für ca.10 Sekunden die Strähne im geschlossenen Gerät glätten.

Gerät ausschalten

0 Schalten Sie das Gerät mit dem Ein-/

Aus-Schalter (Abb. 1/C) aus.

0 Nachdem das Gerät vollständig abge-

kühlt ist, können Sie es zusammenklappen und arretieren, indem Sie die Verriegelung (Abb. 1/F) in die Stellung

schieben.

Reinigung und Pflege

• Stromschlaggefahr! Vor jeder Reini-

gung den Netzstecker ziehen.

• Verbrennungsgefahr! Gerät unbedingt vollständig abkühlen lassen.

• Das Gerät nie in Wasser tauchen.

• Geräteschutz. Keine scharfen oder scheuernden Putzmittel verwenden.

0 Das Gerät nur mit einem leicht feuch-

ten Tuch abwischen und mit einem weichen Tuch nachtrocknen.

0 Bei stärkeren Verschmutzungen kön-

nen die Glättplatten mit Hilfe einiger weniger Tropfen Spülmittel gereinigt werden. Achten Sie darauf, dass keine Spülmittelrückstände auf den Glättplatten zurückbleiben.

Bei einer evtl. erforderlichen Reparatur, einschließlich Ersatz der Netzzuleitung, wenden Sie sich bitte zunächst telefo-

nisch an unsere Serviceline AEG- Electrolux.

Please read this user manual carefully before using your hair straightener, paying particular attention to the safety notes on this and the following page! Keep the user manual safe for future reference and also to pass on to any subsequent owner.

1 Safety notes

This appliance corresponds to accepted technological standards with regards to safety and to the German Appliance Safety Law. As manufacturers, we nevertheless regard it as our duty to familiarise customers with the following safety considerations.

General safety

• This appliance may be connected only to a power socket carrying a voltage and frequency matching the information on the model rating plate.

• Do not pull the cable over sharp edges, clamp it into place or allow it to hang down. Keep the cable away from hot and damp areas.

• Never try to remove the plug from the socket by pulling on the lead.

• The connecting cable of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the cord or the plug is damaged or defect, the appliance should be discarded.

• Before use check that the appliance functions properly. The appliance should not be used if: – the connecting cable is damaged

– the appliance shows noticeable

damage

– the appliance has been dropped

• Never wind the mains cable around the appliance.

• The connecting cable must not come into contact with hot appliance parts and should never run between the straightening plates.

• Only insert the mains plug when the appliance is switched off.

• The installation of a residual current circuit breaker (RCD) with a rated trigger current of less than 30 mA in the domestic power supply provides additional protection. Seek advice from a qualified electrician.

• Repairs to this appliance may only be carried out by qualified service engineers. Considerable danger may result from improper repairs. If repairs become necessary, please contact the Customer Care Department or your authorised dealer.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Child safety

• Children are not aware of the hazards of electrical appliances. Therefore close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by children.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• Packaging material, e.g. plastic bags, should not be accessible to children.

Safety instructions when operating the appliance

• The appliance must not come into contact with flammable materials. It must also not be used near flammable materials because the straightening plates reach temperatures of approx. 200°C.

• Warning! Risk of burns from the

straightening plates and hot appliance parts. Never grasp the appliance

by or near the straightening plates when the appliance is on. The straightening plates and hot steam can cause burns. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Never transport the appliance when hot.

• Warning! Risk of electric shock. Never use the appliance with wet hands, in the bath or shower or over a filled washbasin. If the appliance falls into water, remove the mains plug immediately. Under no circumstances reach into the water when the appliance is still connected to the power supply.

• Warning! Risk of electric shock. When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.

• The appliance must never be switched on when clamped together. Ensure that the appliance is open.

• Never put the appliance on soft cushions or blankets during operation.

• Never cover the straightening plates with any object.

• After use, or if pausing for a significant length of time, disconnect the appliance from the mains and let the appliance cool down.

• Do not place the appliance or the connecting cable on hot surfaces e.g. cooker or similar or in the vicinity of open flames.

• Warning! Risk of burns with hair spray. Never use flammable substances, e.g. hair spray, styling mousse etc., on your hair before using this appliance as this may cause burning when the substance comes into contact with the straightening plates.

• The appliance may only be used on dry, natural hair. Do not use on artificial hair.

• The appliance is not suitable for straightening animal hair.

• Remove the plug from the mains: – if the unit does not function

properly – before cleaning – after every use

• Do not pull on the connecting cable and do not carry the unit by means of the cable.

• People with nervous disorders should not operate the appliance when alone in order to avoid any possible danger.

Safety instructions for cleaning and maintenance

• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning and maintenance, or if faults occur during operation.

• Warning! Risk of electric shock. Pro- tect the appliance from moisture. Never put it into the dishwasher. Never immerse it in water.

Use in accordance with purpose

• The appliance is only intended for straightening and styling human hair. The manufacturer can accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from improper use of the appliance.

• The appliance is not intended for professional purposes.

Disposal

Packaging material

The packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled. The plastic components are identified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the packaging materials in the appropriate container at the community waste disposal facilities.

Operating instructions

Preparing the hair

0 Wash your hair and dry it well. 0 Comb your hair thoroughly. Do not use

hairspray or other flammable chemical hair care products.

0 Place a hand towel around your neck

to prevent the possibility of skin burns.

Switching on the appliance (Fig. 2)

The appliance must never be switched

on when clamped together.

0 Open the appliance by switching the

locking (Fig. 1/F) to the position .

0 Insert the mains plug and switch on

the appliance using the ON/OFF switch (Fig. 1/C). The green ON/OFF control light should light up (Fig. 1/D).

The appliance takes approx. 4 minutes

to heat up to operating temperature.

Straightening long hair (Fig. 3, 4)

0 Hold the appliance at the handle

(Fig. 1/B), always at a safe distance from skin and eyes. Use a mirror.

0 Part your hair into approx. 4 cm

strands.

0 Hold the appliance in the hand as

shown in Fig. 3.

0 Begin at the roots and lay the prepared

strands one at a time between the straightening plates (Fig. 1/E) (Fig. 3).

0 Close the appliance and draw the hair

straightener slowly from the roots through to the tips of your hair (Fig. 4).

0 Repeat until your hair is as straight as

you desire.

0 After finishing styling, let your hair

cool down and then comb it through.

Straightening short hair

0 Follow the instructions as for long hair,

but instead of drawing the appliance through your hair, clamp the strands in the appliance for approx. 10 seconds.

Switching off the appliance

0 Switch off the appliance using the ON/

OFF switch (Fig. 1/C).

0 After the unit has completely cooled

down, you can close it and clamp it together by switching the locking (Fig. 1/F) to the position .

Cleaning and care

• Danger of electric shock! Switch off

the unit before it is to be cleaned and pull out the plug.

• Danger of burns! It is essential to let the unit completely cool down.

• Never immerse the appliance in water.

• Protect your appliance. Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.

0 You can clean your appliance with a

slightly damp cloth and dry it with a soft dry cloth.

0 If the straightening plates get dirty, use

a few drops of washing-up liquid to help clean them. Make sure that you remove all washing-up liquid residues from the straightening plates.

1 Normas de seguridad

La seguridad de este aparato corresponde a las reglas reconocidas de la técnica y a la Ley sobre la seguridad de aparatos. No obstante, respete las normas de seguridad que proporcionamos a continuación en calidad de fabricante.

Medidas de seguridad generales

• ¡El aparato sólo puede ser conectado a una red de alimentación eléctrica cuya tensión y frecuencia coincida con la indicación del tipo en la etiqueta!

• No rozar ni aprisionar el cable de red con esquinas afiladas ni colgarlo de ellas. Proteger el cable del calor excesivo y la humedad.

• No desenchufar nunca la clavija estirando del cable de red.

• El cable de red no se puede sustituir. En caso de daños en el cable, se deberá eliminar el aparato completo.

• Comprobar el perfecto estado del aparato antes de cada utilización. No se podrá utilizar cuando:

– la conducción eléctrica esté dañada – el aparato presente daños evidentes – el aparato haya sufrido caídas

• No enrollar nunca el cable en el aparato.

• El cable nunca deberá tocar piezas calientes del aparato ni pasar entre las placas de alisado del mismo.
