1 Safety instructions
Please comply with these instructions. If you do not, any damage resulting is not covered by the warranty.
Correct use
This appliance is not intended for use by children or other persons whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruc­tion by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the appliance safely.
Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.
This appliance should be used only for normal domestic cooking and frying of
food.
The appliance must not be used as a work surface or as a storage surface.
Additions or modifications to the appliance are not permitted.
Gas/electrical safety
This appliance must only be connected by a qualified installation engineer. Before installation and using for the first time, the operating and installation instructions are to be followed.
The appliance must only be installed in accordance with the regulations in force and only in a well ventilated, sufficiently large room. If in doubt, speak to your installer.
In the event of faults with the appliance or damage to the burner or the glass ceramic (cracks, scratches, splits), switch off the appliance, shut off gas supply. Do not use the appliance if damaged!
If away from home for a long time: shut off mains gas supply.
Repairs to the appliance must only be carried out by qualified service engi-
neers. Considerable danger may result from improper repairs. If repairs become necessary, please contact our Customer Care Department or your dealer.
Using a gas cooking appliance leads to a build up of heat and humidity in the room in which it is installed. Make sure there is good ventilation in the kitch­en: Open the windows or vents or install an extractor hood.
If the appliance is used intensively or for a long time, provide additional venti­lation: Open window or operate cooker hood on a high setting.

Children’s safety
Small children must be kept away from the appliance.
Only let bigger children work on the appliance under supervision.
Safety during use
1 Warning in the event of a smell of gas:
Do not activate any electrical switches.
Do not light matches or lighters, do not smoke.
Open windows and doors, ventilate very well.
Shut off gas supply to the appliance and mains gas supply.
Contact your gas company’s emergency service or the servicedepartment.
Do not do anything to the appliance.

Be careful if connecting electrical appliances to sockets near to this appliance. Electrical leads must not be allowed to come near hot rings.

During operation the rings become hot.
Overheated fats and oils can ignite very quickly. Warning! Fire hazard!
Do not place or store flammable liquids, highly inflammable materials or fusi-
ble objects (e.g. plastic film, plastic, aluminium) on or near the appliance.

Safety when cleaning
For cleaning, the appliance must be switched off and cooled down.
For safety reasons, the cleaning of the appliance with steam jet or high-pres-
sure cleaning equipment is not permitted.
How to avoid damage to the appliance
The glass ceramic can be damaged by objects falling onto it.
Objects that melt and things that boil over can burn onto the glass ceramic
and should be removed straightaway.

Remove pan stand, burner cover and burner crown.
Remove any stickers that are on the glass ceramic.
Put a few drops of glass ceramic cleaner on the glass ceramic and rub with a
cloth or kitchen paper.
Wipe glass ceramic dry.
Clean pan holder, burner crown and burner cover with warm water and wash-
ing up liquid. Dry off.
Replace burner crown, burner cover and pan stand.

3 The appliance is equipped with a fully protected ring burner. If the flames go
out, for whatever reason, the gas supply is automatically closed off.

ATTENTION!
Each time, before switching on the appli­ance make sure that the burner crown and burner cover are lying straight on the burn­er body.
If the burner crown and the burner cover are not on straight, the gas flame will not burn evenly and this can cause damage to the burner.

The apertures for the gas flames on the burner crown must not be blocked by foods that have boiled over or by cleaning products.

Switching the appliance on and off
1. Turn the ring switch to the left to maxi­mum power .
2. Press the ring switch in firmly, until the gas has ignited. After a successful ignition hold the ring switch depressed for about 5 sec­onds. If the flames should go out, repeat the ignition process.
3. Set the desired power. The power can be set progressively from maximum power to minimum power .
4. To end the cooking process, turn back to the Off position.
3 In the event of a power cut or also when the spark plug is wet (because of food
boiling over or cleaning) the rings can also be ignited using a gas lighter or a match.

Only take cookware from the ring when at minimum power or in the Off Posi­tion •.

Warning: During cleaning the burners must be switched off. Ensure that the hob has cooled down sufficiently so that you can touch all parts safely.
1 Important: Sharp objects and abrasive cleaning materials will damage the ap-
pliance. Clean with water and washing up liquid.

Glass ceramic
1. Place the scraper on the glass ceramic surface at an angle.
2. Remove residues by sliding the blade over the surface.
3. Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and a little washing up liquid.
4. Rub the appliance dry using a clean cloth.

Burner crown and burner cover
Clean burner crown and burner cover in hot washing up water, remove heavy deposits with a soft brush after soaking. The flame apertures of the burner crown must always be clean and free of debris.
Pan brackets
Wash the pan brackets using hot water and washing-up liquid. Soak heavy resi­dues with a wet cloth.

Removable Frontline strip
The aluminium Frontline strip fastens on by means of magnets. It is easy to re­move by hand and can be cleaned with detergent. Please do not use any scour­ing agents or sponges that scratch. Do not clean the strip in the dishwasher.

Packaging material
The packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled. The plastic components are identified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dis­pose of the packaging materials in the appropriate container at the community waste disposal facilities.
2 Old appliance
The symbol W on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product
may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equip­ment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent po­tential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

Warning! This must be read!
Safety instructions when building in
The laws, ordinances, directives and standards in force in the country of use are to be followed (safety regulations, proper recycling in accordance with the regu­lations, etc.) Installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician. The minimum distances to other appliances and units are to be observed. Anti-shock protection must be provided by the installation, for example drawers may only be installed with a protective floor directly underneath the appliance. The cut surfaces of the worktop are to be protected against moisture using a suitable sealant. The sealant seals the appliance to the work top with no gap. Ensure anti-shock protection through correct installation by a qualified installer.
Safety instructions when connecting to the electricity supply
If this appliance’s mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cable (type H05BB-F Tmax 90°C; or higher). The latter is available from the Customer Care Department. Observe electrical safety rules. A device must be provided in the electrical installation which allows the appli­ance to be disconnected from the mains at all poles with a contact opening width of at least 3 mm. Suitable isolation devices include line protecting cut-outs, fuses (screw type fus­es are to be removed from the holder), earth leakage trips and contactors.

Safety instructions when connecting to the gas supply
1 Warning!
When installing, the appliance must not be connected to the electrical supply. Disconnect the mains plug or switch off or take out the fuses. Shut off mains gas supply.
A stop tap must be built-in between the house’s gas supply and the appliance.
Before connecting the appliance, check whether the local connection condi-
tions (type of gas and gas pressure) match the appliance’s set-up.
The settings for this appliance are given on the appliance’s rating plate.
The present settings for the type of gas and gas pressure are given on a sticker
near the connection pipe.
This appliance is not connected to an exhaust gas outlet. It must be connected
in accordance with the installation conditions that apply. Special attention is to be paid to suitable ventilation.
Gas connection
The 1/2’’ gas connection pipe is located on the left-hand side of the back of
the appliance.
Burner rail end piece with nut (1), gasket
(2) and adjustable fitting (3) are to be as­sembled as illustrated.
It is recommended that a gas safety
socket is used.
The connection can be permanent or us-
ing a permitted gas safety hose assembly with a socket.
The hose assembly must be positioned
such that it is not in contact with any­thing and must not come into contact with a moveable part of the built-in unit (e.g. drawer).
The gas hob can be changed over to other types of gas. Conversion kits for
other gas types are available in specialist shops.

Cutting the seal to length
A sealing tape is stuck to the underside of the appliance. The two ends overlap
and must be cut off flush.
1 Warning!
After installation always check the tightness of the connections using a soap so­lution. Never use a flame to check the tightness.
Using the appliance for the first time
Ignite each ring burner and test burning stability at maximum and minimum
power.

1. Work out the size of the cut-out section and saw it out.
2. Remove Frontline strip from the appliances by hand (magnetic fastening).
3. Lay the appliances one at a time on something soft (for example a blanket) with
the underside facing upwards.
4. Screw / clip fixing plates / retaining grips into the appropriate holes in the pro­tective boxes.

5. Place first appliance in the cut-out. Lay connecting cross bar in the cut-out and push up halfway against the appliance.
6. Put silicon on the appliance corners that will touch one another. Put silicon on the end of the cross bar.
7. Loosely screw in fixing plates / retaining grips from below on the worktop and on the connecting cross bar.

8. Place Frontline strips on the appliances. Check that the Frontline strips are in line with one another.
9. Tighten the fixing plate / retaining grip screws.
10. Inject a line of silicon into the gap between the appliances.
11. Dampen silicon line with a little soapy water.
12. Press rubber block hard against the glass ceramic and draw it slowly along the
gap.
13. Leave silicon until the next day to harden.
14. Carefully remove projecting silicon with a shaving blade.
15. Clean glass ceramic thoroughly.
16. Replace Frontline strips.
