1 Safety instructions
Please comply with these instructions. If you do not, any damage re-

sulting is not covered by the warranty.
Correct use
This appliance should be used only for normal domestic cooking and frying of food.
The appliance must not be used as a work surface or as a storage sur­face.
Additions or modifications to the appliance are not permitted.
Gas/electrical safety
This appliance must only be connected by a qualified electrician. Be- fore installation and using for the first time, the operating and instal­lation instructions are to be followed.
The appliance must only be installed in accordance with the regula­tions in force and only in a well ventilated, sufficiently large room. If in doubt, speak to your installer.
In the event of faults with the appliance or damage to the burner or the glass ceramic (cracks, scratches, splits), switch off the appliance, shut off gas supply. Do not use the appliance if damaged!
If away from home for a long time: shut off mains gas supply.
Repairs to the appliance must only be carried out by qualified serv-
ice engineers. Considerable danger may result from improper repairs. If repairs become necessary, please contact our Customer Care De­partment or your dealer.
Using a gas cooking appliance leads to a build up of heat and humid­ity in the room in which it is installed. Make sure there is good venti­lation in the kitchen: Open the windows or vents or install an extractor hood.
If the appliance is used intensively or for a long time, provide addi­tional ventilation: Open window or operate cooker hood on a high setting.

Child safety
Small children must be kept away from the appliance.
Only let bigger children work on the appliance under supervision.
Safety during use
1 Warning in the event of a smell of gas
Do not activate any electrical switches.
Do not light matches or lighters, do not smoke.
Open windows and doors, ventilate very well.
Shut off gas supply to the appliance and mains gas supply.
Contact your gas company’s emergency service or the service depart-
ment.
Do not do anything to the appliance.

Be careful if connecting electrical appliances to sockets near to this appliance. Electrical leads must not be allowed to come near hot rings.
1 Warning: Risk of burns!
During operation the rings become hot.
Overheated fat and oil can ignite quickly. When cooking with fat or
oil (e.g. frying chips) do not leave the appliance unattended.
Do not place or store flammable liquids, highly inflammable materials or fusible objects (e.g. plastic film, plastic, aluminium) on or near the appliance.
Safety when cleaning
For cleaning, the appliance must be switched off and cooled down.
For safety reasons, the cleaning of the appliance with steam jet or
high-pressure cleaning equipment is not permitted.
How to avoid damage to the appliance
The ceramic glass can be damaged by objects falling onto it.
Objects that melt and things that boil over can burn onto the ceramic
glass and should be removed straightaway.

Before using for the first time
Remove pan stand, burner cover and burner crown.
Remove any stickers that are on the glass ceramic.
Put a few drops of glass ceramic cleaner on the glass ceramic and rub
with a cloth or kitchen paper.
Wipe glass ceramic dry.
Clean pan holder, burner crown and burner cover with warm water
and washing up liquid. Dry off.
Replace burner crown, burner cover and pan stand.

3 The appliance is equipped with fully protected ring burners. If the
flames go out, for whatever reason, the gas supply is automatically closed off.

Operating the appliance
Important
1
Each time before switching on make sure that the burner crown and burner cover are lying straight on the burner body.
If burner crown and burner cover are lying crookedly, the gas flame does not burn evenly and it can cause damage to the burner cover.
1 Important
The apertures for the gas flames on the burner crown must not be blocked by foods that have boiled over or by cleaning products.
