Safety information
The safety of this unit complies with recognised techni­cal regulations and the safety instructions effective. We must, however, draw your attention to the following safety information.
Compliance with these operating and installation in­structions is a precondition for our warranty liability.
Electrical safety
Inspect the cooker hood for damage during transport. Do not connect a damaged unit under any circum­stances. Contact your supplier in the event of damage.
Never put the cooker hood into operation if the power cable or operating screen is damaged.
The cooker hood must be fitted and connected accord­ing to the instructions. The installation instructions de­scribe everything required for this purpose.
Before putting into service ensure that the mains volt­age and type of supply stated on the name-plate of the unit correspond with the local power supply.
Repairs must be performed exclusively by one of our customer service departments. Original spare-parts must also always be used.
Conversions or modifications to the cooker hood are not permitted for safety reasons.
Switch off the unit in the event of a fault, withdraw the power plug from the socket.
Safety during use
The cooker hood should only be used for ventilating the cooking area. If the unit is used incorrectly or for other than the intended purpose, the manufacturer cannot accept any liability for possible damage.
Flambé-cooking under the unit is forbidden when switched off or on (danger of fire).
Never use the cooker hood without fat filter. In the event of subsequent relocation of the unit, exact
installation instructions can be ordered from our cus­tomer service center by telephone.
If the unit is sold or passed to a third party, please en­sure that it is transferred together with this manual, so that the new user can obtain information about use of the unit.
If the cooker hood is not supervised for a long time, e.g. during holidays, ensure that the unit is switched off.
Safety during cleaning
Clean the fat filter regularly. There is danger of fire if soiling is severe.
Check and clean the cooker hood regularly to avoid costly repairs. Pay attention to the relevant section en­titled ”Cleaning and servicing”.
Never withdraw the plug by pulling the cable.
Safety for children
Packing materials (e.g. foil, Styropor) can be danger­ous for children. Danger of suffocation.
Keep packing materials away from children.

Disposal
Packaging material
The packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled. The plastic com­ponents are identified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the packaging materials in the appropriate container at your local waste disposal facilities.
Old appliance
The symbol on the product or on its packa­ging indicates that this product may not be treated as hou s ehold waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is dispo­sed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local cit y o ffice, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.
Warning: Before disposing of old appliances please make them inoperable so that they can­not be a source of danger.
To do this, disconnect the appliance from the mains supply and remove the mains cable from the appliance.

The cooker hood can be fitted for two different modes of operation:

Exhaust version
The fumes produced over the cooker are cleaned in the fat filter and taken outside via an exhaust pipe.
Circulating air version
If the structural conditions do not permit an exhaust pipe to be fitted, the exhaust system can be provided with an additional activated carbon filter , which collects bacteria and odours. The clean air is then returned to the cooking area.
The carbon filter (7, 8, 9) is available as a special ac­cessory.
Before using for the first time
Initial pre−cleaning
Clean the outer parts with a cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution to remove possible manufacturing traces.
Warning! Do not use sharp, abrasive cleaning agents, which could damage the surface.
