My ÖKO system

Your new ÖKO-LAVAMAT from the AEG ÖKO system meets all laundry care requirements and allows individual and versatile programme selection. Highly economical water, energy, and detergent consumption contributes to relief of our environment and ensures maximum eoonomic viability.

This AEG-developed rinse/spin process, keeps the level of froth ing within the narrowest limits possible while your washing ma chine is running white^Goloureds laundry programmes with inter mediate spinning. During each spin sequence, the drum runs up to the required speed in small speed steps fully foam-monitored. What this means for you is: outstanding washing and rinsing results at very low water con sumption. You can recognize this automatic sequence by frequent changes in my spin speed. Where, in special cases, too much foam occurs - e.g. when too much detergent is dosed - a “Special rinse" sequence is further automatically combined as necessary (see sequence indication), which leads tb higher water consumption. This fourth rinse sequence can also be permanently combined.'
My ÖKO lock ensures 100 % detergent utilization through auto matic closure of the suds tank during washing on all programmes and at all washing températures. This reinforces the cleaning ef
fect and hëps save detergent in comparison with machines with
out such a device. Scoop ribs arranged in my laundry drum continuously recirculate
the water upwards, ensuring intensive and uniform soaking of your laundry.
My water pre-softening through the 2-sfage dispensing system and special softener and detergent allows environmentally con scious washing in hard-water areas.
The automatic flowrate leature automatically adjusts the water consumption to the wash load and fabric type concerned. By ad ditionally pressing the economy button for small loads, you can save even more water.
The automatic flowrate feature
Also advantageous is the possibility of selecting the shortest washing times for slightly soiled and small wash loads, e.g. in the cáse, of sports and leisure clothing.
My wool cradle takes special care of your woollens; under a much-reduced w^hing actbn, these espedaity sensitive gar ments are gently “rocked" to and fro in the drum.
I wish you great joy in taking economical and gentle care of your laundryl
AH used materials aré environmentally compatible. They can be
safely disposed of or burnt in a refuse indnerator. Regardirig the materials; The plastics can also be recycled and are marked as follows:
>PE< for polyethylene e. g. as used in outer wrapping and
bags inside;
>PS< for polystyrene foam e. g. as used in the packing; this
material is basically CFG-free.
The cardboard parts are made of waste paper and should be put
back into the waste paper collection system.

For the sake of the environment...

Ecology-tips . These tips wilt help you to act in a way that shows awareness of
for the environment,
economical s The programmes without pre-soaking are provided for laundry
washing which is averagely dirty. You save wasNng powder and water
in comparison vwfri programmes that do include pre-soaking.
■ Only use fuil-range washing powder or liquid with added bleach if the items have stains on them which can be bleached out.
■ You can keep consumption figures tow by filling your washing rhachine full each time, if it should nonetheless by necessary to wash small quantities, use my "SMALL QUANTITY” button and add only about 2/3 to 1/2 as much washing powder or liq uid. Then, less water, energy, and washing powder or liquid will be used than when small quantities are washed using a normal programme,
■ If your washing is only slightly to normally dirty, my E = "SAVE ENERGY” programme-, wth its lower temperature for a longer time, vwit be sufficient.
■ Stains and limited areas of dirt can be removed with the right pre-freatment. This saves running a programme for particular ly washing.
■ Use exactly the dosage of washing powder or liquid given in the manufacturer's instructions. Using too much is only a waste of money, and also pollutes the environment. And pay special attention to the dosage for washing that is only slightly soiled.
■ It is also possible to save washing powder and protect the en vironment, if you have medium to very hard water, by dosing the washing powder or liquid as tor soft water and adding a separate-water-softener. That keeps a certain amount of
„chemicals' out of our water-courses. Your OKO-LAVAMAT is equipped here with a particularly effect water pre-softening with a 2-stoge take-up mechaniam. You will find tips on this in the section on ‘Adding washing powder or liquid”,
■ Only add fabric softener when it is necessary, e,g, with mixed synthetic fabrics, in order to prevent a static charge building up. If you use a tumbler-dryer you washing will become soft and fluffy even without a ^ric softener.
Economy And these are my economy programmes
programmes SMALL QUANTITIES - Programme for use.with half or less
of the normal quantity of washing
E = SA\^ ENERGY - Programme for textiles with a degree
of soiling which does not call for the full bleaching effect of high tempera tures.
