Normas de seguridad

Los criterios de seguridad de los electrodomésticos AEG/ELECTROLUX corresponden a las normas técnicas y a las disposiciones legales para la seguridad de los aparatos. De todos modos, como fabricantes, deseamos indicar las siguientes normas de seguridad.

Seguridad en general

• Las reparaciones deben ser efectuadas sólo por personal especializado. Las reparaciones inadecuadas pueden causar peligros notables. Para eventuales reparaciones diríjase a un centro de asistencia técnica AEG/ELECTROLUX.

• No haga funcionar el aparato si el cable de alimentación está dañado o si en la zona del cuadro de mandos o en el plano de apoyo hay daños que permiten el acceso a la parte interna del aparato.

• Antes de las operacionas de limpieza, cuidado y mantenimiento, asegúrese de que el aparato esté desconectado.

• Nunca desenchufe el aparato tirando del cable de alimentación, tire directamente del enchufe.

• Evite salpicar el aparato con agua. ¡Peligro de descarga eléctrica!

• Durante el lavado a altas temperaturas el vidrio de la puerta está caliente. ¡No lo toque!

• Deje enfriar el agua antes de efectuar un vaciado de emergencia o una abertura de emergencia de la puerta.

• Los pequeños animales domésticos pueden roer los cables eléctricos y los tubos del agua. Peligro de descarga eléctrica y peligro de daños debidos al agua.

Colocación, conexión, puesta en marcha

• Siga las instrucciones para la colocación y la conexión.

• Efectúe el primer lavado sin ropa (ALGODON 90, con mitad dosis de detergente) para quitar los eventuales residuos de elaboración del tambor y de la cuba.

• Si compra el aparato en los meses invernales, cuando la temperatura es inferior a 0°C, deje el aparato a temperatura ambiente durante 24 horas antes de ponerlo en función.

Seguridad para los niños

• Los niños no se dan cuenta de los peligros de los aparatos eléctricos. Cuando el aparato está funcionando vigile atentamente a los niños y no los deje jugar con el aparato, pueden encerrarse adentro.

• Las piezas de embalaje (por ej. películas, poliestireno), pueden ser peligrosas para los niños. ¡Peligro de sofocación! Tenga las piezas fuera del alcance de los niños.

• Conserve los detergentes en un lugar seguro fuera del alcance de los niños.

• Asegúrese de que los niños o los pequeños animales domésticos no entren en el tambor de la lavadora.

• Cuando quiera destruir el aparato, desenchúfelo, corte el cable de alimentación y elimine el enchufe con el cable restante. Inutilice el cierre de la puerta: de esta manera los niños que están jugando no se quedarán atrapados en el aparato.

Uso apropiado

• El aparato ha sido proyectado para uso doméstico. El fabricante no asume responsabilidad alguna por los daños provocados por un uso impropio del aparato o por la inobservancia de las instrucciones de uso.

• Para Su seguridad, no es posible aportar modificaciones al aparato.

• Utilice sólo detergentes para lavadoras y siga las instrucciones de la casa productora.

• Es preciso no lavar en la lavadora prendas que han sido tratadas con productos inflamables.

• No utilice el aparato para lavar en seco.

• Se pueden utilizar colorantes/decolorantes solo su expresa declaración del productor de estas sustancias. El fabricante declina cualquier responsabilidad por los daños eventuales.

• Después del uso, desenchufe siempre el aparato y cierre el grifo del agua.

Eliminación

Materiales de embalaje

Los materiales que incluyen el símbolo pueden ser reciclados.

>PE<= polietileno >PS<=poliestireno >PP<=polipropileno

Para poder recuperarlos se deben depositar en los espacios apropiados (o contenedores).

Aparato

Para una correcta eliminación de su viejo aparato, Le aconsejamos utilizar las escombreras autorizadas. ¡Ayúdenos a mantener limpia Su ciudad!

El símbolo en el producto o en su empaque indica que este producto no se puede tratar como desperdicios normales del hogar. Este producto se debe entregar al punto de recolección de equipos eléctricos y electrónicos para reciclaje. Al asegurarse de que este producto se deseche correctamente, usted ayudará a evitar posibles consecuencias negativas para el ambiente y la salud pública, lo cual podría ocurrir si este producto no se manipula de forma adecuada. Para obtener información más detallada sobre el reciclaje de este producto, póngase en contacto con la administración de su ciudad, con su servicio de desechos del hogar o con la tienda donde compró el producto.

Consejos para la protección del ambiente

Para ahorrar agua y energía y contribuir a la protección del ambiente, aconsejamos atenerse a lo siguiente:

• Para ropa de algodón normalmente sucia es suficiente un programa sin prelavado; de esta manera se ahorra detergente, agua y tiempo (¡y se protege al ambiente!).

• Para ropa normalmente sucia es posible utilizar un programa ECONOMIA.

• El aparato trabaja en economía si se cargan las cantidades máximas de ropa indicadas.

• Con cargas reducidas, utilice la mitad o un tercio de la cantidad de detergente sugerida.

• Con un tratamiento apropiado se pueden eliminar las manchas y las zonas sucias limitadas; después se puede efectuar un lavado a baja temperatura.

• Si el agua tiene un nivel de dureza medio o alto (a partir del grado de dureza II, ver “Detergentes y aditivos”) añada los ablandadores. Después dosifique el detergente simpre con referencia al nivel I de dureza del agua I (=dulce).

Características principales de Su lavadora

• Regulación del programa y de la temperatura con selector programas.

• Programas de ahorro energético (90E), (60E) e (40E) para ropa de algodón normalmente sucia.

• Posibilidad de reducir la velocidad del centrifugado final a 900, 600 vueltas/minuto para el modelo L62890 y 800, 600 vueltas/minuto para el modelo L60890.

• Posibilidad de seleccionar la opción AGUA EN LA CUBA: la ropa queda sumergida en el agua del último aclarado para evitar la formación de pliegues.

• Posibilidad de retardar el arranque del programa desde 30 minutos hasta un máximo de 23 horas.

• El display fases programa indica la fase en curso.

• El programa especial para lana trata la ropa con suma delicadeza, sin apelmazarla, gracias al sistema delicado de lavado.

• Cubeta con 4 compartimientos para detergente, suavizante y blanqueante.

• Sistema de control de desbalanceo: asegura la posición del aparato y su funcionamiento silencioso.

• La válvula ECO consigue un aprovechamiento óptimo del detergen- te y reduce el consumo de agua, ahorrando como consecuencia energía.

Selector programas

El selector programas determina el tipo de lavado (por ej. nivel de agua, movimiento del tambor, número de aclarados) y la temperatura según el tipo de ropa.

El selector se divide en 5 sectores:

• ALGODÓN Y LINO

• SINTÉTICOS

• DELICADOS

• LANA (LAVADO A MANO)

• Programas especiales

• ANULACIÓN/PARADA O

El selector puede ser girado en sentido horario y antihorario.

La posición 90E, 60E y 40E (Economía) corresponde al programa de ahorro energético para ropa de algodón normalmente sucia, con un aumento de la duración del lavado (no compatible con la opcióne LAVADO RAPIDO).

Posición FÁCIL DE PLANCHAR a 40°.

En esta posición se lava y centrifuga la ropa de manera muy delicada, para evitar la formación de pliegues. De este modo se facilita el planchado.

La posición FRIO corresponde al lavado en frío (para tejidos muy delicados).

Tecla MARCHA/PAUSA

Esta tecla tiene dos funciones: a) Arranque Después de haber seleccionado el programa deseado, pulse la tecla para

poner en marcha el aparato. Si se ha seleccionado ARRANQUE RETARDADO, la máquina inicia la cuenta hacia atrás.

b) Pausa Para interrumpir un programa en curso, pulse la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA: el

piloto correspondiente empieza a parpadear. Para hacer reanudar el programa del punto en el cual se ha interrumpi-

do, pulse nuevamente la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA.

Tecla ARRANQUE RETARDADO

Esta tecla permite retardar el arranque del aparato desde 30 – 60 – 90 minutos, 2 horas y luego desde 1 hora hasta un máximo de 23 horas.

La tecla se pulsa después de haber seleccionado el programa y antes de pulsar la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA.

Después de haber pulsado la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA el aparato empieza la cuenta hacia atrás (en horas).

Para anular el retardo seleccionado, pulse la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA, luego pulse la tecla ARRANQUE RETARDADO hasta que en el display aparezca el símbolo 0’.

Ahora pulse nuevamente la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA para poner en marcha el aparato.

Para modificar el retardo seleccionado, después de haber pulsado la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA, seleccione nuevamente el programa y el nue-

vo retardo deseado.

Teclas Opciones

Según el tipo de programa requerido es posible seleccionar varias funciones. Elija las opciones después de haber seleccionado el programa deseado y

antes de pulsar la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA. Pulsando estas teclas se encienden los pilotos específicos. Si vuelve a

pulsarlas los pilotos se apagan.

PRELAVADO

El aparato efectúa un prelavado a 30°C máx., al término del cual inicia el lavado. El prelavado termina con un breve centrifugado en los programas Algodón y Sintéticos y con la descarga del agua en el programa Delicados. Se usa para ropa muy sucia.

DELICADOS

Si Usted pulsa esta tecla la lavadora añade un aclarado en los programas de ALGODÓN y SINTÉTICOS y reduce el centrifugado del tambor y la intensidad del lavado. Utilice esta opción para prendas de colores delicados o de algodón ligeramente sucias. Esta opción no puede ser seleccionada con el programa de

FÁCIL DE

PLANCHAR a 40°.

LAVADO RAPIDO

Pulsando esta tecla se obtiene una reducción del tiempo de lavado. Se usa para ropa poco sucia.

Esta opción no es compatible con el programa lana (lavado a mano) y los programas economía.

CENTRIFUGADO

Pulse esta tecla para reducir la velocidad máxima del centrifugado final sugerida por el aparato para el programa seleccionado. La velocidad máxima para el algodón es:

- 1200 vueltas/minuto (L62890)

- 1000 vueltas/minuto (L60890) Para los tejidos sintéticos, tejidos delicados y de lana es de 1000 vueltas/minuto para el modelo L60890 y 900 vueltas/minuto para el modelo L60890.

Importante: Seleccionando contemporáneamente CENTRIFUGADO y ARRANQUE RETARDADO la máquina efectúa un aclarado adicional (ver página 22).

AGUA EN LA CUBA

Seleccionando esta opción, el agua del último aclarado no se descarga para evitar la formación de pliegues en los tejidos: al final del programa, un cero statico aparece en el display, el piloto FIN se enciende, la luz MARCHA/PAUSA se apaga, la luz PUERTA en el panel de mandos es roja para indicar que la puerta está bloqueda y se debe vaciar el agua.

Para descargar es posible:

• elegir el programa DESCARGA para descargar el agua sin centrifugado.

• elegir el programa CENTRIFUGADO o CENTRIF. DELICADO. Reduzca la

velocidad de centrifugado mediante la tecla correspondiente y luego pulse la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA .

¡Atención! No se olvide de girar el selector programas en la posición ANULACION/PARADA/O y luego en DESCARGA o CENTRIFUGADO o CENTRIF. DELICADO.

(TIEMPO RESTANTE)

Este display suministra las siguientes informaciones:

• Duración del programa de lavado seleccionado (en minutos), calculada

automáticamente en base a la carga máxima prevista para cada tipo de ropa.

• Un cero aparece en el display cuando termina el programa.

• Arranque retardado (máx. 23 horas), programado utilizando la tecla cor-

respondiente. La cuenta hacia atrás se actualiza cada hora hasta 2 horas y luego cada 30 minutos.

• Códigos de defecto. Las anomalías eventuales se indican por un especial

código de defecto en el display. El código representa una ayuda importante para los usuarios y para el servicio de asistencia, por ej. “E20” (véase párrafo “Anomalías de funcionamiento”).

Display fases programa

Seleccionando el programa de lavado, las luces piloto correspondientes a las varias fases se encienden.

Después de haber arrancado el programa, queda encendida solo la luz piloto correspondiente a la fase en curso.

Si al final del ciclo se enciende la luz piloto SOBREDOSIFICACION significa que se ha utilizado demasiado detergente.

Anulación de un programa

Para anular un programa en curso, gire el selector programas en la posición ANULACION/PARADA/O.

¡Atención! Después de un programa que termina con el agua en la cuba (opción AGUA EN LA CUBA), seleccione primero ANULACION/PARADA/ O y después DESCARGA, CENTRIFUGADO o CENTRIF. DELICADO.

Modificación de una opción en curso

Para modificar una opción antes que nada es necesario poner el aparato en PAUSA pulsando la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA.

Se puede modificar cualquier opción antes de que la máquina la ejecute. Tras haber seleccionado la nueva opción, vuelva a pulsar MARCHA/ PAUSA para arrancar nuevamente el programa.

Para modificar el programa, gire el selector en ANULACION/PARADA y luego elija el nuevo programa.

El agua del lavado no se descarga y el programa prosigue tras haber pulsado MARCHA/PAUSA otra vez.

Apertura de la puerta con el programa iniciado

Antes de abrir la puerta se debe poner la máquina en PAUSA pulsando MARCHA/PAUSA .

Se puede abrir la puerta a condición de que:

- la máquina no se halle en fase de calentamiento del agua;

- el nivel del agua no sea demasiado alto;

- el tambor esté parado. La luz PUERTA en el panel de mandos indica si se puede o no se puede

abrir la puerta:

- luz verde: se puede abrir la puerta;

- luz roja: no se puede abrir la puerta;

Cubeta detergente

Compartimiento para el detergente de prelavado y para la sal quitamanchas. El detergente de prelavado se saca automáticamente al principio del programa de lavado, mientras la sal quitamanchas entra en la máquina durante la fase de manchas.

Compartimiento para detergente en polvo o líquido para el lavado. Se vacía al principio del lavado.

Compartimiento para aditivos líquidos (suavizante, almidón). Se vacía con el último aclarado.

Compartimiento para blanqueante líquido. Se vacía con el primer aclarado.

La dosis de aditivo y blanqueante no debe superar nunca el nivel “MAX” indicado en la cubeta.

Antes de efectuar el primer lavado

Antes de efectuar el primer lavado recomendamos poner 2 litros de agua en el compartimiento de lavado de la cubeta para activar la válvula ECO.

A continuación realice un ciclo de algodón a 90°, sin ropa, para quitar los eventuales residuos de elaboración del tambor y de la cuba.

Eche media medida de detergente en la cubeta de lavado y ponga en funcionamiento el aparato.

Preparación del ciclo de lavado

Selección de las prendas y preparación

• Seleccione las prendas según las etiquetas y el tipo de tejido (ver “Tipo de ropa y etiquetas tejidos”).

• Vacíe los bolsillos.

• Quite todos los objetos metálicos (ganchos, imperdibles, etc.).

• Para evitar que la ropa se dañe o se anude, cierre las cremalleras, abotone las fundas y las fundas plumón, anude las cintas sueltas, por ej. las de los delantales.

• Gire las prendas de doble reversibilidad (sacos de dormir, anorak, etc.).

• Gire las prendas de color bordadas, las de lana o aquellas con aplicaciones.

• Las prendas muy pequeñas o delicadas (por ej. medias de bebé, medias finas, etc.) se pueden proteger introduciéndolas en una funda con cremallera o bien en calcetines largos.

• Las cortinas deben ser tratadas con especial cuidado. Quite los ganchos metálicos o de plástico, o átelos en una red o en una bolsa. El fabricante no puede asumir responsabilidad alguna por eventuales daños.

• La ropa blanca y de color no se deben lavar juntas; la ropa blanca puede alterar el color con el lavado.

• Muy a menudo la ropa de color nueva posee un exceso de color; se aconseja efectuar el primer lavado de estas prendas por separado.

• Lave las prendas pequeñas y grandes juntas para mejorar el resultado del lavado y para distribuirlas mejor durante el centrifugado.

• Ponga las prendas en la lavadora desplegándolas.

• Introduzca en el tambor una prenda cada vez.

Peso de la ropa

Tipo de ropa y etiquetas tejidos

Las etiquetas ayudan a eligir el programa de lavado más adecuado. La ropa debe ser seleccionada según el tipo de tejido y las instrucciones que se encuentran en la etiqueta.

Las indicaciones relativas a la temperatura en las etiquetas se refieren siempre a la temperatura máxima.

Algodón

Las prendas de lino y algodón marcadas con este símbolo se pueden lavar siempre a altas temperaturas.

Algodón

Las prendas de lino y algodón marcadas con este símbolo no destiñen y se pueden lavar a 60°C.

Algodón

Las prendas marcadas con estos símbolos tienen colores delicados y la temperatura no puede superar los valores indicados.

Sintéticos

Los tejidos mixtos y sintéticos marcados con estos símbolos se deben lavar con delicadeza y usando el programa específico.

Delicados

Las prendas en microfibra, sintéticas y las cortinas marcadas con estos símbolos necesitan un tratamiento muy delicado.

Para este tipo de ropa se debe usar el programa DELICADOS.

Lana y prendas particularmente delicadas

Las prendas de lana, mixto lana o seda marcadas con estos símbolos son particularmente sensibles al lavado en lavadora.

Para este tipo de ropa se debe usar el programa LANA . Las prendas con la etiqueta (no lavar en agua) no se pueden lavar

en lavadora. EI ciclo lana de esta máquina ha sido aprobado por la Woolmark para

el lavado de productos Woolmark lavables en lavadora, siempre que las prendas sean tratadas de acuerdo con las indicaciones de cuidado de la respectiva etiqueta cosida y con las instrucciones de uso del fabricante de la máquina. M9604.

Detergentes y aditivos

¿Qué detergente y aditivo se debe utilizar?

Utilice solo detergentes y aditivos para lavadoras. Siga las indicaciones del fabricante.

¿Cuánto detergente se debe utilizar?

La cantidad de detergente depende

• de la cantidad de ropa: si el fabricante del detergente no da indicaciones sobre la dosis a usar con una carga parcial, se aconseja reducir en 1/3 la dosis de detergente con la mitad de la carga y la mitad de la dosis con una carga reducida al mínimo;

• de la suciedad de la ropa: utilice poco detergente para prendas poco sucias. Siga las indicaciones del fabricante en base a la cantidad de ropa por lavar;

• de la dureza del agua; el agua muy dura necesita mucho detergente. Consulte las indicaciones presentes en la confección del producto para la dosificación según el nivel de dureza del agua.

Detergente líquido

El detergente líquido se puede echar directamente en el compartimiento de la cubeta para el lavado inmediatamente antes del inicio del programa o se puede introducir el dosificador en el tambor. Siga las instrucciones del fabricante.

Adición del ablandador (producto decalcificante)

El ablandador se añade con agua de dureza medio-alta (a partir del grado de dureza II). Siga las instrucciones del fabricante. Luego se utilizará siempre el detergente para el nivel de dureza I (=dulce). Las informaciones sobre la dureza del agua en la zona de residencia pueden ser suministradas por la Compañía competente.

Cargue la ropa

Abra la puerta. Introduzca la ropa en el tambor, una prenda cada vez. Despliegue la

ropa lo más posible. Cierre la puerta.

Eche el detergente y el aditivo

Extraiga completamente la cubeta.

Eche la cantidad de detergente para el lavado en el compartimiento

Si desea efectuar un programa con prelavado ponga el detergente o la sal quitamanchas en el compartimiento .

Vierta el suavizante en el compartimiento y el blanqueante en el compartimiento sin superar el nivel MAX. indicado en la cubeta.

Cierre la cubeta bien a fondo.

Seleccione el programa de lavado deseado

Gire el selector programas en la posición deseada. Las luces piloto correspondientes a las fases que componen el programa se encienden. La duración del programa aparece en el display.

Eventual selección de las opciones PRELAVADO, DELICADOS, LAVADO RAPIDO

según la suciedad de la ropa y el tipo de tejido. El piloto correspondiente se enciende.

Seleccione la velocidad del centrifugado o la opción AGUA EN LA CUBA

Pulse la tecla CENTRIFUGADO para seleccionar la velocidad de centrifugado deseada o la opción AGUA EN LA CUBA: la luz piloto correspondiente se enciende.

Si no se reduce la velocidad de centrifugado, la máquina realizará el centrifugado final a las velocidades siguientes:

- algodón 1200 rpm (L62822)

- sintéticos 900 rpm (L62822)

- delicados 900 rpm (L62822)

- lana (lavado a mano) 900 rpm (L62822)

- algodón, sintéticos, delicados 1000 rpm (L60822) lana (lavado a mano)

Aclarado adicional

La máquina ha sido proyectada para consumar poca agua. Sin embargo, para las personas particularmente sensibles, alérgicas a los detergentes, podría ser necesario aclarar la ropa con una mayor cantidad de agua (aclarado adicional).

El aclarado adicional sólo puede efectuarse en los programas para algodón, sintéticos, delicados y en el progr. ACLARADOS DELICADOS.

Selección del aclarado adicional

Pulse simultáneamente por unos 3 segundos las teclas CENTRIFUGADO y ARRANQUE RETARDADO: la luz piloto ACLARADO ADICIONAL se enciende en el display fases programa.

Esta función queda habilitada de manera permanente. Si se quiere anularla, se debe pulsar otra vez las mismas teclas hasta que la luz piloto ACLARADO ADICIONAL se apague.

Seleccione la opción ARRANQUE RETARDADO

Si desea retardar la puesta en marcha de un programa pulse la tecla ARRANQUE RETARDADO antes de arrancarlo. El retardo seleccionado aparecerá en el display tres segundos y después se visualizará la duración del programa requerido.

Pulsando la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA en el display aparecerá nuevamente el retardo seleccionado y luego el aparato empezará la cuenta hacia atrás.

Arranque el programa

1. Controle que el grifo del agua esté abierto.

2. Pulse la tecla MARCHA/PAUSA para arrancar el programa. Si se ha seleccionado el ARRANQUE RETARDADO, el programa empezará

al término del tiempo seleccionado.

Si al inicio del programa la luz PUERTA es verde y parpadea, significa que la puerta no está cerrada. Ciérrela y vuelva a pulsar MARCHA/PAUSA.

Si se ha seleccionado el ARRANQUE RETARDADO, empieza la cuenta hacia atrás, hasta 2 horas y luego cada 30 minutos, que se visualiza en el display. Durante este periodo es posible tanto introducir otra ropa en el tambor como anular el tiempo de retardo.

• Añadir ropa: pulse MARCHA/PAUSA, se puede abrir la puerta. Intro-

duzca la ropa, cierre la puerta y vuelva a pulsar MARCHA/PAUSA.

• Anular el tiempo de retardo: pulse MARCHA/PAUSA, pulse ARRANQUE RETARDADO hasta que en el display aparezca 0’. Vuelva a pulsar MARCHA/PAUSA.

Limpieza y mantenimiento

Después de cada lavado

Al final del lavado, extraiga parcialmente la cubeta del detergente para que pueda secarse.

Deje la puerta entreabierta para ventilar el aparato.

Si no utiliza el aparato por mucho tiempo:

Cierre el grifo del agua y desenchufe el aparato.

Limpieza periódica

Exterior del aparato

Limpie la parte externa de la lavadora con agua tibia y un producto neutro no abrasivo. Aclare con agua limpia y seque con un trapo suave.

Importante: no use alcohol, solventes o productos similares para la limpieza del aparato.

Cubeta detergente

Los detergentes y los aditivos, con el tiempo, forman incrustaciones.

Limpie periódicamente la cubeta del detergente pasándola debajo del grifo de agua. Para extraer completamente la cubeta del aparato, pulse el botón en fondo a la izquierda.

Para poder limpiar la cubeta más fácilmente, es posible quitar la parte alta de la misma reservada a los aditivos.

Con el pasar del tiempo, el detergente puede formar incrustaciones en la parte interna de la cubeta: límpiela con un cepillo de dientes.

Vuelva a colocar la cubeta en su lugar.

Puerta

Controle periódicamente que no haya cuerpos extraños como grapas, botones, mondadientes en la junta de la puerta.

Zona de descarga

La limpieza de la zona de descarga de agua es necesaria en caso de que la bomba haya quedado bloqueada por cuerpos extraños ( por ejemplo botones, grapas, clips, etc) o en caso de que la máquina no descargue y/o no centrifugue.

Desconecte el cable de alimentación. Si es necesario

espere a que el agua de lavado se enfríe.

Abra la puerta de la zona de descarga.

Coloque un recipiente para recoger el agua.

Tire del pequeño tubo de descarga, colóquelo en el recipiente y quite el tapón, cuando el recipiente esté lleno, ponga el tapón al pequeño tubo de descarga.

Vacíe el recipiente y repita la secuencia de operaciones anteriores hasta vaciar por completo el aparato. Tenga a mano un trapo para secar el agua que se derrama cuando se quita el filtro/diafragma.

A continuación desenrosque la tapa del filtro/diafragma girándola en sentido anti-horario y tire de ella.

Retire los cuerpos extraños como botones, monedas y las pelusas que se han acumulado en la zona de las aspas de la bomba. Para facilitar la limpieza gire las aspas de la bomba.

Enrosque la tapa del filtro/diafragma en sentido horario asegurándose que queda bien apretada.

Coloque el pequeño tubo en su posición inicial y cierre la puerta de la zona de descarga.

Filtro del tubo de alimentación

Si se observa que el aparato necesita más tiempo para llenarse, es necesario controlar que el filtro del tubo de alimentación no esté atascado.

Cierre el grifo del agua. Desenrosque el tubo de alimentación del

grifo. Límpie el filtro con un cepillo. Vuelva a enroscar el tubo.

Vaciado de emergencia

Si el aparato no descarga (bomba desagüe bloqueada o tubo desagüe obstruido), para vaciar el agua proceda de la siguiente manera:

desenchufe el aparato; cierre el grifo del agua; espere que el agua se enfríe (si es necesario); abra la puerta de la zona de descarga; coloque un recipiente para recoger el agua que saldrá del aparato; tire del pequeño tubo de descarga, colóquelo en el recipiente y quite el

tapón; cuando el recipiente esté lleno, ponga el tapón al pequeño tubo de

descarga; vacíe el recipiente y repita la secuencia de operaciones anteriores hasta

vaciar por completo el aparato; limpie el filtro/diafragma si es necesario, como descrito anteriormente; coloque el pequeño tubo de descarga en su posición inicial y cierre la

puerta de la zona de descarga.

Precauciones contra el hielo

Si el aparato se instala en un cuarto donde la temperatura podría descender por debajo de 0°C, proceda como sigue:

desenchufe el aparato; cierre el grifo del agua y desenrosque el tubo de carga del grifo; abra la puerta de la zona de descarga;

coloque un recipiente para recoger el agua que saldrá del aparato; ponga la extremidad del tubo de carga en un recipiente; tire del pequeño tubo de descarga, colóquelo en el recipiente y quite el

tapón; cuando termine de salir el agua, ponga el tapón al pequeño tubo de

descarga, colóquelo en su posición inicial y cierre la puerta de la zona de descarga;

vuelva a enroscar el tubo de carga. Efectuando estas operaciones el agua que ha quedado en el aparato

será evacuada, evitando la formación de hielo y de consecuencia la rotura de las partes afectadas.

Cuando haga funcionar nuevamente el aparato, asegúrese de que la temperatura del ambiente sea superior a los 0°C.

¡Importante¡

Cada vez que se descarga el agua a través del pequeño tubo de descarga, se deben añadir 2 litros de agua en el compartimento de lavado de la cubeta, y a continuación realizar el programa de descarga. Con esto se vuelve a activar la válvula ECO, impidiendo que parte del detergente quede sin usar en el siguiente lavado.

Qué hacer si...

Si durante el centrifugado se oye un ruido insólito, semejante a un silbido, esto se debe a un nuevo tipo de motor.

Si no se ve agua en el aparato, esto es porque los nuevos aparatos, frutos de la tecnología moderna, trabajan con consumo reducido de agua.

Anomalías de funcionamiento

En caso de anomalías de funcionamiento, se aconseja tratar de resolverlas solo siguiendo las instrucciones indicadas más abajo.

Si se consulta el servicio de asistencia por uno de los inconvenientes mencionados más abajo, o bien después de un uso incorrecto de la máquina, dicho servicio no se efectuará gratis aún si la garantía está todavía en vigor.

Es posible oir una señal acústica, que la luz FIN está parpadeante y que aparezcan en el display los siguientes códigos de alarma:

- E10: anomalía en la carga del agua

- E20: anomalía en la descarga del agua

- E40: puerta abierta)

Qué hacer si...

El centrifugado inicia en retardo o no se efectúa

El resultado del lavado no es satisfactorio

Si el blanco de la ropa disminuye y se encuentran incrustaciones calcáreas en el tambor

• La dosis de detergente es insuficiente.

• El tipo de detergente es inadecuado.

• Las manchas “difíciles” no han sido sometidas a un tratamiento preliminar.

• No se ha elegido el programa/temperatura justa.

Si en la ropa hay manchas grises

• La ropa sucia de ungüentos, grasa o aceite ha sido lavada con poco detergente.

• Se ha elegido un temperatura de lavado demasiada baja.

• En estos casos se ha verificado que el suavizante, sobre todo si es concentrado, ha entrado en contacto directo con la ropa. Lave enseguida estas manchas y eche el suavizante con mucho cuidado.

Si queda espuma también después del último aclarado

• Los detergentes modernos pueden producir espuma aún en el último aclarado. De todos modos la ropa ha sido aclarada completamente.

Si quedan residuos blancos en la ropa

• En gran parte se trata de componentes no solubles de los modernos detergentes. No dependen de un aclarado insuficiente. Sacuda o cepille la ropa. Quizás es mejor girar las prendas antes de lavarlas. Controle el tipo de detergente y en caso utilice un detergente líquido.

Normas de seguridad para el instalador

• El aparato es pesado, tenga cuidado en moverlo.

• Al momento del desembalaje, controle que el aparato no esté dañado. Si tiene dudas no lo ponga en funcionamiento y consulte al distribuidor.

Instalación

Desembalaje

Antes del uso, quite todos los dispositivos de seguridad para el transporte.

Desatornille y quite los dos tornillos inferiores traseros por medio de la llave provista. Saque los dos pernos de plástico. Apoye el aparato sobre la parte trasera; no aplaste los tubos. Ayúdese intercalando entre la máquina y el piso uno de los angulares del embalaje.

Quite la pieza de poliestireno y suelte las dos bolsas de plástico.

Extraiga, con mucho cuidado, la bolsa izquierda de nailon, tirando de ella hacia la derecha y hacia abajo.

Extraiga, siempre con mucho cuidado la bolsa derecha, tirando de ella hacia la izquierda y hacia arriba.

Quite la base de poliestireno, vuelva a poner la máquina en posición vertical y desatornille el otro tornillo trasero. Extraiga el perno correspondiente.

Introduzca en todos los huecos los tapones de plástico que están en la bolsa que contiene el manual de instrucciones.

Conserve todos los elementos usados para el transporte para poderlos volver a usar en caso de mudanza.

Colocación

Instale el aparato sobre un piso plano y rígido. Haga atención para que la circulación del aire alrededor del aparato no

sea impedida por alfombras, moquetas, etc.

• Antes de colocar el aparato sobre baldosas de pequeñas dimensiones es mejor intercalar un revestimiento de goma.

• Nunca trate de corregir las irregularidades del piso intercalando pedazos de madera, cartón o similares.

• Si por razones de espacio no se puede evitar la colocación del aparato cerca de un horno a gas o de una estufa a carbón, es necesario introducir entre los dos aparatos una lámina aislante (85x57 cm) recubierta de una lámina de aluminio hacia el lado del horno o de la estufa.

• Nunca ponga el aparato en un lugar donde la temperatura podría descender debajo de 0°C.

• Controle que el tubo de carga del agua y el tubo de desagüe no estén doblados.

• Controle que el aparato esté instalado en un lugar donde el técnico pueda acceder fácilmente.

Nivelación

Nivele el aparato con sumo cuidado desenroscando o enroscando las patas de apoyo. Nunca ponga debajo del aparato cartón, madera o materiales similes para compensar los eventuales desniveles del piso.

Carga de agua

Conecte el tubo de carga a un grifo roscado de 3/4”.

El tubo de carga no debe ser prolongado. Si el tubo es demasiado corto y no se desea desplazar el grifo, es necesario comprar un tubo más largo, adecuado para este tipo de uso.

La otra extremidad del tubo de carga, del lado del aparato, puede ser orientada en cualquier dirección. Desenrosque un poco la tuerca de fijación, gire la extremidad del tubo y vuelva a enroscar la tuerca, controlando que no haya pérdidas de agua.

Descarga de agua

El tubo de desagüe puede ser colocado en tres modos diferentes:

En el borde de un lavabo usando el codo de plástico suministrado con el aparato.

Es importante que la parte curva del tubo no resbale del borde del lavabo con la velocidad adquirida por el agua durante la fase de desagüe. Sujétela al grifo con una cuerda o un gancho colocado en la pared que se introducirá en el agujero apropiado en la parte curva del tubo.

En una derivación del desagüe del lavabo.

Esta derivación debe estar arriba del sifón, de modo tal que el codo del tubo esté como mínimo a 60 cm del suelo.

En un conducto de desagüe situado a una altura no inferior a 60 cm y no superior a 90 cm. La extremidad del tubo de desagüe debe ser siempre ventilada, o sea el diámetro interno del conducto de desagüe debe ser más ancho que el diametro externo del tubo de desagüe.

El tubo de desagüe puede ser prolongado, pero no debe superar los 400 cm. En caso de prolongación el diámetro interno del tubo prolongado debe corresponder con el diámetro interno del tubo original. Utilice un empalme adecuado.

El tubo de desagüe no debe estar retorcido.

Para un correcto funcionamiento de la lavadora no se debe quitar la abrazadera que fija el tubo de desagüe al respaldo situada en la parte alta del respaldo.

Conexión eléctrica

El aparato está previsto para funcionar a 220-230 V, monofase, 50 Hz. Controle que la instalación doméstica pueda soportar la carga máxima

requerida (2,2 kW), considerando también los otros aparatos en funcionamiento.

Conecte el aparato a una toma de corriente con toma de tierra. El fabricante declina cualquier responsabilidad por los daños o las

lesiones provocadas por el incumplimiento de las normas de seguridad antedichas.

Si se hace una conexión eléctrica fija, es obligatorio instalar un interruptor con una abertura entre los contactos de al menos 3 mm que permita aislar completamente el aparato de la red.

La conexión eléctrica debe ser conforme a las normas vigentes. El cable de alimentación no debe ser prolongado. Si la longitud no fue-

se suficiente sustitúyalo con otro cable más largo o bien acerque la toma de corriente.

Para sustituir el cable de alimentación diríjase al centro de asistencia técnica.

Una vez que se haya instalado la máquina, asegurarse de que se pueda acceder fácilmente al cable de alimentación.

Safety instructions

The safety of AEG/ELECTROLUX appliances complies with the industry standards and with legal requirements on the safety of appliances. However, as manufacturers, we feel it is our duty to provide the following safety notes.

General safety

• Repairs to the machine must be carried out only by qualified personnel. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons could cause serious danger. Contact your local AEG/ELECTROLUX Service Force Centre.

• Never start the machine if the electrical supply cable is damaged or the control panel or worktop are so damaged that inner components can be reached.

• Unplug the appliance before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations.

• Never pull the power supply cable to remove the plug from the socket; always take hold of the plug itself.

• Never spray the machine with a jet of water. Danger of electric shock!

• During high temperature wash programmes the door glass may get hot. Do not touch it!

• Let the water cool down before carrying out emergency emptying or before opening the door in an emergency.

• Small animals can gnaw electric wires and water hoses causing electrocution hazard and damage due to water leaks.

Positioning, connection, starting up

• Follow the instructions for positioning and connection.

• Carry out a first wash without laundry (COTTONS 90, with half the amount of detergent) in order to remove any manufacturing residue from the tub and the drum.

• Should the machine be purchased in winter, when temperatures can be below 0°, leave the appliance for 24 hours at ambient temperature before starting it.

Child safety

• Children are often not aware of how dangerous electrical appliances can be. When the machine is working, children should be carefully supervised and not be allowed to play with the appliance - there is a risk that they could become trapped inside.

• The packaging components (e.g. plastic film, polystyrene) can be dangerous to children - danger of suffocation! Keep them out of children’s reach.

• Keep all detergents in a safe place out of children’s reach.

• Make sure that children or pets do not climb into the drum.

• When the appliance is to be scrapped, cut off the electrical supply cable and destroy the plug with the remaining cable. Disable the door catch in order to prevent children from becoming trapped inside while playing.

Proper use

• This appliance is designed for domestic use only. If the machine is used for any other purposes or is not used correctly, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any damage that might occur.

• For safety reasons, the appliance must not be modified.

• Use only detergents suitable for washing machines and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Garments which have been in contact with flammable solvents should not be machine washed.

• Do not use your machine for dry cleaning.

• Dyes and bleaching agents may only be used if specifically permitted by the manufacturer of these products. We cannot be held responsible for any damage.

• Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water tap after use.

Tips for environmental protection

To save water, energy and to help protect the environment, we recommend that you follow these tips:

• Normally soiled laundry may be washed without prewashing or soak in order to save detergent, water and time (the environment is protected too!).

• Use the energy saving programme when washing normally soiled garments.

• The machine works more economically if it is fully loaded.

• When small loads are washed, use only half to two thirds of the recommended amount of detergent.

• With adequate pre-treatment, stains and limited soiling can be removed; the laundry can then be washed at a lower temperature.

• If the water has a medium or high degree of hardness (starting from hardness degree II, see “Detergents and additives”) water softeners must be added. The amount of detergent can then be adjusted to hardness degree I (= soft).

Main features of your washing machine

• Programme and temperature setting using the programme selector.

• Energy saving programmes (90E), (60E), (40E) for normally soiled cotton items.

• Speed for the final spin can be reduced to 900, 600 rpm for L62890 and 800, 600 rpm for L60890.

• RINSE HOLD: the laundry is left immersed in the final rinse water to prevent creasing.

• Delay Start: programme start can be delayed up to 23 hours (e.g. to times with a more economical power rate).

• Programme progress display showing the programme steps selected and the programme phase which is running.

• Because of its gentle washing action, the special wool cycle washes your garments with extreme care.

• 4-compartment drawer for detergent, fabric softener and bleaching agent.

• Balance control device: to prevent vibration during spinning.

Programme selector dial

The programme selector determines the type of washing cycle (e.g. water level, drum movement, number of rinses) and the washing temperature according to the type of laundry.

The selector dial is divided into 5 sections:

• Cottons (ALGODÓN Y LINO)

• Synthetics (SINTÉTICOS)

• Delicates (DELICADOS)

• Woollens (LANA) (hand washing)

• Special programmes

• Reset programme O (ANULACIÓN/PARADA)

The selector dial can be turned either clockwise or anticlockwise. Position 90E, 60E and 40E (economy) corresponds to the ENERGY

SAVING programme for normally soiled laundry, extended washing time. They cannot be combined with QUICK WASH (LAVADO RAPIDO) option.

Position EASY TO IRON at 40°C

In this position the laundry is gently washed and spun to avoid any creasing. In this way ironing is easier.

Position FRIO = cold wash

START/PAUSE button

This button has two functions: a) Start

After having selected the required programme, press this button to start the machine. If you have selected the DELAY START option (ARRANQUE RETARDADO), the machine starts its hourly countdown.

b) Pause To interrupt a programme which is running, press the START/PAUSE

button: the relevant light starts to flash. To restart the programme from the point at which it was interrupted,

press the START/PAUSE button again.

DELAY START button

The wash programme can be delayed from 30 min – 60 min – 90 min, 2 hours and then by 1 hour up to a maximum of 23 hours by means of this button.

Selecting the delayed start

• Select the programme and the required options.

• Select the delay start.

• Depress START/PAUSE button: the machine starts its hourly count down.

The programme will start after the selected delay has expired.

Cancelling the delayed start

• Depress START/PAUSE button.

• Depress DELAY START button until the the symbol 0’ is displayed.

• Depress START/PAUSE button again to restart the machine

. • To modify the delay time, after the programme has already started,

set the programme again and select the new desired delay time.

Programme Option buttons

Depending on the programme, different functions can be combined. These must be selected after choosing the desired programme and before depressing the START/PAUSE button.

When these buttons are pressed, the corresponding pilot lights come on. When they are pressed again, the pilot lights go out.

PREWASH (PRELAVADO)

The machine performs a prewash cycle before the main wash. The prewash cycle ends with a short spin in programmes for Cotton and Synthetics, and with emptying of the water without spinning for Delicates.

To be used for heavily soiled laundry.

SENSITIVE (DELICADOS)

If you depress this button, the washing machine adds one rinse in COTTONS and SYNTHETIC programmes and reduces the spinning of the drum and the washing intensity. To be uses for delicate color or lightly soiled cottons.

This option connot be selected with the EASY IRON programme.

QUICK WASH (LAVADO RAPIDO)

By pressing this button the washing time is reduced. For use when washing lightly soiled laundry. This option is not available with programme wool, handwash and economy programmes.

Important: By depressing at the same time buttons SPIN SPEED and QUICK WASH, the acoustic signal is suppressed when selecting the programmes, in case of incorrect option selection and at the end of the cycle.

SPIN SPEED (CENTRIFUGADO)

Press this button to reduce the maximum speed of the final speed proposed by the machine for the selected programme or to select option RINSE HOLD. The maximum spin speed for cotton is:

- 1200 rpm for L62890

- 1000 rpm for L60890. For synthetics, wool and delicates is 1000 rpm for L60890 and 900 rpm for L62890. Important: By depressing at the same time buttons SPIN SPEED and DELAY START the machine will perform an extra rinse (see page 65).

RINSE HOLD (AGUA EN LA CUBA)

By selecting this option, the last rinse water is not emptied out, to prevent the fabrics from creasing. When the programme has finished, the START/PAUSE button goes off, the END pilot light (FIN) on the programme progress display illuminates, the DOOR light (PUERTA) is red and the display shows a static zero to indicate that the water must be emptied out.

To empty out water there are two possibilities:

• Select programme “DESCARGA” (draining): The water is emptied out without spinning.

• Select programme “CENTRIFUGADO” (SPIN) or “CENTRIFUGADO DELICADO” (DELICATE SPIN). Select the spin speed by means of the relevant button and then depress the START/PAUSE button. The water is emptied out and the laundry is spun at the selected spin speed.

Warning! The programme selector dial must be turned first to RESET

O and then to the DRAIN programme “DESCARGA” or “CENTRIFUGADO” (SPIN) or “CENTRIFUGADO DELICADO” (DELICATE SPIN).

Display

(TIEMPO RESTANTE)

The display shows the following information:

• Duration of the selected programme (in minutes), calculated automatically on the basis of the maximum recommended load for each type of fabric.

• When the programme has finished, a steadily lit zero is displayed.

• Delay start, (23 hours max.) programmed using the button ARRANQUE RETARDADO. The countdown is updated every hour during the first two hours and then every thirty minutes.

• Alarm code indicating a fault in the machine operation (see page 78).

Programme progress display

By selecting the wash programme, the pilot lights corresponding to the various phases making up the programme come on.

After the machine has started, only the running phase pilot light stays on. When the programme has finished, the FIN (End) pilot light comes on.

When the programme has finished, if the SOBREDOSIFICACION light (Overdosage) comes on, it indicates that too much detergent has been used.

Cancelling a programme

To cancel a programme which is running, turn the programme selector dial to the RESET O position (ANULACION/PARADA).

Warning! After a programme which ends with water in the drum (RINSE HOLD option), turn the selector dial first to O and then to the programme “DESCARGA”, “CENTRIFUGADO” or “CENTRIF. DELICADO”.

Altering a programme which is running

To modify the selected programme turn the programme selector dial to O and then choose a new programme.

The water is not emptied out and after pressing the START/PAUSE button again the machine restarts with the newly selected programme.

Altering an option which is running

To alter an option, first set the machine to PAUSE by pressing the START/PAUSE button.

Any option can be modified before the machine starts it. After selecting the new option press the START/PAUSE button again to re-start the selected programme.

To modify the selected programme turn the programme selector dial to O and then choose a new programme.

The water is not emptied out and after pressing the START/PAUSE button again the machine restarts with the newly selected programme.

Opening the door after the programme has started

To open the door set the machine to PAUSE by pressing the START/PAUSE button. The door can be opened if:

• the machine is not already heating;

• the water level is not above the bottom edge of the door;

• the drum is not turning. The PUERTA light (Door) on the control panel indicates if the door can

be opened:

• green light: the door can be opened;

• red light: the door cannot be opened;

Detergent dispenser drawer

Compartment for prewash detergent and stain remover. The prewash detergent is added at the beginning of the wash programme. The stain remover is added during the STAIN-Action phase in the main wash.

Compartment for powder or liquid detergent used for main wash. It is emptied at the beginning of the wash cycle.

Compartment for liquid additives (fabric softener, starch). It is emptied at the last rinse.

The quantity of additives must not exceed the “MAX” mark in the drawer.

Compartment for bleaching agent. It is emptied at the first rinse.

The quantity must not exceed the “MAX” mark in the drawer.

Before the first wash

Before your first wash, we recommend that you pour 2 litres of water into the main wash compartment of the detergent drawer in order to activate the ECO valve.

Then, run a cotton cycle at 90°, without any laundry in the machine, to remove any manufacturing residue from the drum and tub.

Pour 1/2 a measure of detergent into the dispenser drawer and start the machine.

Preparing the wash cycle

Sorting out and preparing the laundry

• Sort out the laundry according to type of fabrics and care labels (see “Types of fabric and care labels”).

• Empty pockets.

• Remove any metal parts (safety pins, clips, etc.).

• To prevent the laundry from getting damaged and forming bundles, it is advisable to close zips, button up pillowcases and quilt covers and tie up loose straps such as those of aprons.

• Turn double faced items inside out (sleeping bags, anoraks, etc.)

• Turn coloured knitted fabrics, woollens and fabrics with trim inside out.

• Wash small and delicate items (baby socks, tights) inside a laundry net or in a pillow case closed with a zip, or in larger socks.

• Treat curtains with special care. Remove all metal or plastic hooks or put them in a net or a bag. We take no responsibility for any damage.

• Whites and coloureds must be washed separately: white items can loose their whiteness.

• New coloured fabrics often have excess dyes; it is advisable to wash them separately for the first time.

• Wash small and large items together; this improves the washing result and the laundry is better distributed during spinning.

• Shake out garments before putting them into the machine.

• Insert each garment separately.

Types of fabric and care labels

The labels on garments help you to select the most suitable wash programme. The laundry should be sorted out according to the type of fabric and the instructions indicated on care labels.

Temperatures indicated on labels are always maximum temperatures.

Linen and cottons marked with this symbol can be washed at high temperatures.

Cotton

Linen and cottons marked with this symbol are colourfast and can be washed at 60°C.

Garments marked with these symbols have delicate colours, therefore the washing temperature must not exceed these values.

Synthetics

Delicates

Microfibres, synthetics or curtains marked with these symbols require a very gentle treatment. The DELICATES programme is suitable for this type of fabric.

Woollens and particularly delicate items

Fabrics such as wool, wool mix or silk marked with this symbol are particularly sensitive to machine washing. The WOOL programme is suitable for this type of fabric.

If the label has the symbol (do not wash), the garments must not be machine washed! The wool wash cycle of this machine has been approved by Woolmark for the washing of machine washable Woolmark products provided that the garments are washed according to the instructions on the garment label and those issued by the manufacturer of this washing machine. Detergents and additives

Which detergent and additive?

Use only detergents and additives for washing machines. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

How much detergent?

The quantity depends on:

• the load: if the manufacturer does not provide any indications on the amount of detergent for small loads, use about one third less than the suggested amount for half loads and half the amount for very small loads;

• the degree of soil: use a small amount of detergent for lightly soiled garments. Judge the amount according to the detergent manufacturer’s instructions and size of the load;

• the water hardness: the harder the water, the more detergent required. Instructions according to water hardness are given on the detergent pack.

Liquid detergent

Liquid detergent can be poured directly into the main wash compartment of the dispenser drawer immediately before starting the programme, or a special dispenser can be used that is placed directly in the drum. Measure the detergent according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Adding a water softener (descaling product)

A water softener must be added when water has a medium-high degree of hardness (from degree of hardness II). Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. The quantity of detergent can then always be adjusted to degree of hardness I (= soft). Information on water hardness can be obtained from your local water supply authority.

Load the laundry

Open the door. Place the laundry in the drum, one item at a time. Distribute laundry as

evenly as possible. Close the door.

Add detergent and additives

Pull the drawer out till it stops.

Pour the main wash detergent into compartment

If you wish to perform a PREWASH programme, pour detergent or stain remover into compartment .

Pour the fabric softener into compartment and the bleaching agent into compartment without exceeding the “MAX” mark.

Close the drawer gently, pushing it fully in.

Select the desired wash programme

Turn the programme selector dial to the desired position: the lights corresponding to the different phases making up the selected programme light on. The display shows the duration of the programme.

Select the desired options

EXTRA RINSE

This appliance is designed for saving water. However, for people with a very delicate skin (allergic to detergents) it may be necessary to rinse the laundry using an extra quantity of water (extra rinse).

The extra rinse is available only with the cotton, synthetics or delicate programme and with programme ACLARADOS DELICADOS (RINSES).

Selection of the EXTRA RINSE option

Press simultaneously the buttons CENTRIFUGADO (SPIN SPEED) and ARRANQUE RETARDADO (DEAY START) for about 3 seconds: the light ACLARADO ADICIONAL comes on in the programme progress display.

This function stays permanently on. To remove it press the buttons CENTRIFUGADO (SPIN SPEED) and ARRANQUE RETARDADO (DEAY START) again until the pilot light ACLARADO ADICIONAL comes off.

Select the DELAY START option

To delay starting of a programme, press the ARRANQUE RETARDADO (DELAY START) button before starting the machine. The figures cor- responding to the selected delay will be displayed for about 3 seconds, after which the duration of the selected programme will appear on the display.

When the START/PAUSE button is pressed, the selected delay will appear again on the display and the machine starts its countdown.

Starting the programme

1. Check that the water tap is open.

2. Press START/PAUSE to start the programme.

If the Delay Start option has been selected the programme will start at the end of the countdown. If the light PUERTA (door) is green and flashing at the start of the programme it indicates that the door is open. Close the door and press the START/PAUSE button again. If the delay start option has been selected, the machine starts its countdown, in hours for the first two hours and then every 30 minutes, which will appear on the display. During this period it is possible to load other laundry, or to cancel the delay time.

• Load other laundry: press the START/PAUSE button. Open the door.

Load the laundry. Close the door and press the START/PAUSE button again.

• Cancel the delay time: press the START/PAUSE button. Press the

DELAY START button until the symbol 0’ appears on the display. Press the START/ PAUSE button again if you wish to restart the programme.

Programme progress display

By selecting the wash programme, the pilot lights corresponding to the various phases making up the programme come on. After the machine has started, only the running phase pilot light stays on.

Display

The time to the end of the programme decreases minute by minute and appears on the display.

At the end of the programme

The machine stops automatically. A steadly zero appears on the display. The FIN (END) light comes on in the programme progress display.

If the RINSE HOLD option has been selected, the START/PAUSE button goes off, the pilot light END on the programme progress display illuminates, the light PUERTA is red and the display shows a static zero to indicate that the water must be emptied out.

To empty out water there are two possibilities:

• Select programme “DESCARGA” (draining): The water is emptied out without spinning.

• Select programme “CENTRIFUGADO” (spin) or “CENTRIF. DELICADO” (delicate spin). Select the spin speed by means of the relevant button and then depress the START/PAUSE button. The water is emptied out and the laundry is spun at the selected spin speed.

Warning! The programme selector dial must be turned first to RESET

O and then to the DRAIN programme DESCARGA, CENTRIFUGADO (spin) or CENTRIF. DELICADO (delicate spin).

Turn the selector dial to O to switch the machine off. Remove the laundry from the drum. Check that the drum is empty so as to avoid any forgotten items

being damaged in a subsequent wash (e.g. shrinking) or their colour running into a load of whites.

Close the water tap. Leave the door open to prevent the formation of mildew and unpleas-

ant smells.

Cleaning and maintenance

After each wash

At the end of the wash programme, pull the dispenser drawer out a little to let it dry.

Leave the door ajar to allow air to circulate.

If the machine is not used for a prolonged period:

Close the water tap and unplug the appliance.

Periodical cleaning

Exterior

Clean the outside of the cabinet with soap and water only. Rinse with clean water and dry.

Important: do not use methylated spirits, solvents or similar products to clean the cabinet.

Detergent dispenser drawer

After a while, detergents and fabric softeners leave deposits in the drawer.

Clean the drawer, from time to time, by rinsing it under a running tap. To remove the drawer from the machine, press the button in the rear left-hand corner.

To facilitate cleaning, the top part of the additive compartments can be removed.

Detergent can also accumulate inside the drawer recess: clean it with an old toothbrush.

Refit the drawer after cleaning.

Door seal

Check from time to time the door seal and eliminate eventual possible objects that could be trapped in the fold.

Drain pump

The pump should be inspected regularly and particularly if the machine does not empty and/or spin

the machine makes an unusual noise during draining due to objects such as safety pins, coins etc. blocking the pump.

Proceed as follows: Disconnect the appliance. If necessary wait until the water has cooled down. Open the pump door.

Place a container close to the pump to collect any spillage.

Release the emergency emptying hose, place it in the container and remove its cap.

When no more water comes out, unscrew the pump and remove it. Always keep a rag nearby to dry up spillage of water when removing the pump.

Remove any objects from the pump impeller by rotating it.

Put the cap back on the emergency emptying hose and place the latter back in its seat.

Screw the pump fully in. Close the pump door.

Water inlet filter

If you notice that the machine is taking longer to fill, check that the filter in the water inlet hose is not blocked.

Turn off the water tap. Unscrew the hose from the tap. Clean the filter in the hose with a stiff brush. Screw the hose back onto the tap.

Emergency emptying out

If the water is not discharged, proceed as follows to empty out the machine:

pull out the plug from the power socket; close the water tap; if necessary, wait until the water has cooled down; open the the pump door; place a bowl on the floor and place the end of the emergency emptying hose

into the bowl. Remove its cap. The water should drain by gravity into the bowl. Whe the bowl is full, put the cap back on the hose. Empty the bowl. Repeat the procedure until water stops flowing out;

clean the pump if necessary as previously described; replace the emergency emptying hose in its seat after having plugged it; screw the pump again and close the door.

Frost precautions

If the machine is installed in a place where the temperature could drop below 0°C, proceed as follows:

Close the water tap and unscrew the water inlet hose from the tap. Place the end of the emergency emptying hose and that of the inlet hose in

a bowl placed on the floor and let water drain out. Screw the water inlet hose back on and reposition the emergency emptying

hose after having put the cap on again

By doing this, any water remaining in the machine is removed, avoiding ice forming and consequently damage to the appliance.

When you use the machine again, make sure that the ambient temperature is above 0°C.

Something not working?

If during the spin cycle the machine makes an unusual whistling noise, different from the noise made by traditional washing machines, this is due to a new type of motor.

If water is not visible in the drum, this is due to the modern technology of new washing machines that use less water than traditional machines.

Troubleshooting

If a problem arises, you can try to solve it yourself following the instructions below.

If you call out an engineer when one of the following problems arises, or to repair a fault due to incorrect use, the call-out will be charged even if requested within the guarantee period.

During machine operation it is possible that an acoustic warning signal sounds, the FIN (END) light blinks and the following alarm codes may be displayed:

- E10: problem with the water supply

- E20: problem with water draining

Unsatisfactory washing results

If the laundry looks grey and lime scale is found in the drum

• An unsuitable detergent has been used.

• Stubborn stains have not been treated prior to washing.

• The programme/temperature has not been correctly selected.

If grey stains remain on the laundry

• Laundry stained with ointments, grease or oil has been washed with an insufficient amount of detergent.

• The temperature selected for the wash programme was too low.

• Fabric softener - especially the concentrated type - has come into direct contact with the laundry. Wash these stains immediately and pour fabric softener carefully.

Foam is still visible even after the last rinse

• Modern detergents often produce foam, even in the last rinse. However the laundry has been completely rinsed.

White residue is left on the laundry

• This is due to insoluble components in modern detergents and is therefore not the result of insufficient rinsing. Shake or brush the laundry. In future, it may be better to turn garments inside out before washing them. Check the choice of detergent; try using liquid detergents.

Safety instructions for the installer

• This appliance is heavy, care should be taken when moving it.

• When unpacking the appliance, check that it is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use it and contact the retailer.

• All internal packing must be removed before using the appliance. Serious damage may be caused to the machine or adjacent furniture if the protective transit devices are not completely removed. Refer to the relevant paragraph.

Installation

Unpacking

All transit bolts and packing must be removed before using the appliance.

Using the supplied spanner, unscrew and remove the 2 rear bottom screws. Slide out the 2 plastic pins. Lay the machine on its back, taking care not to squash the hoses. This can be avoided by placing one of the corner packing pieces between the machine and the floor.

Remove the polystyrene block from the bottom of the machine and release the two plastic bags.

Carefully slide out the left-hand bag removing it towards the right and then downwards.

Slide out the right-hand bag removing it towards the left and then upwards.

Set the machine upright and remove the remaining rear screw. Slide out the relevant pin.

Plug the open holes with the plugs which you will find in the plastic bag containing the instruction booklet.

You are advised to keep all transit devices so that they can be refitted if the machine ever has to be transported again.

Positioning

Install the machine on a flat hard floor. Make sure that air circulation around the machine is not impeded by

carpets, rugs etc.

• Before placing it on small tiles, apply a rubber coating.

• Never try to correct any unevenness in the floor by putting pieces of wood, cardboard or similar materials under the machine.

• If it is impossible to avoid positioning the machine next to a gas cooker or coal-burning stove, an insulating panel (85x57 cm) covered with aluminium foil on the side facing the cooker or stove, must be inserted between the two appliances;

• The machine must not be installed in rooms where the temperature can drop below 0.

• The water inlet hose and the drain hose must not be kinked.

• Please ensure that when the appliance is installed, it is easily accessible for the engineer in the event of a breakdown.

Levelling

Carefully level by screwing the adjustable feet in or out. Never place cardboard, wood or similar materials under the machine to compensate for any unevenness in the floor.

Water inlet

Connect the water inlet hose to a separate tap with a 3/4" thread. The other end of

the inlet hose which connects to the machine can be turned in any direction. Simply loosen the fitting, rotate the hose and retighten the fitting, making sure there are no water leaks.

The inlet hose must not be lengthened. If it is too short and you do not wish to move the tap, you will have to purchase a new, longer hose specially designed for this type of use.

Water drainage

The end of the drain hose can be positioned in three ways:

Hooked over the edge of a sink using the plastic hose guide supplied with the machine. In this case, make sure the end

cannot come unhooked when the machine is emptying.

This could be done by tying it to the tap with a piece of string or attaching it to the wall.

In a sink drain pipe branch. This branch must be above the trap so that the bend is at least 60 cm above the ground.

Directly into a drain pipe at a height of not

less than 60 cm and not more than 90 cm.

The end of the drain hose must always be ventilated, i.e. the inside diameter of the drain pipe must be larger than the outside diameter of the drain hose.

The drain hose must not be kinked.

For a correct functioning of the machine the drain hose must remain hooked on the proper support piece situated on the top part of the back side of the appliance.

Electrical connection

This machine is designed to operate on a 220-230 V, single-phase, 50 Hz supply.

Check that your domestic electrical installation can take the maximum load required (2.2 kW), also taking into account any other appliances in use.

Connect the machine to an earthed socket. The manufacturer does not accept any responsibility for damage or

injury through failure to comply with the above safety precaution.

Permanent connection

In the case of a permanent connection it is necessary that you install a double pole switch between the appliance and the electricity supply (mains), with a minimum gap of 3 mm between the switch contacts and of a type suitable for the required load in compliance with the current electrical regulations.
