GAS CONNECTION
Y
Y
Gas connection must be carried out according to the rules in force. The manufacturing company release the unit, once tested, adjusted for the kind of gas stated on the adjustment label located on the back of the range, next to connection pipe. Be sure that you are going to connect the unit to the same kind of gas written on the plate. Otherwise, follow all the instructions of the paragraph “Change of gas”. For best efficiency and lowest consumption, be sure that manifolds gas pressure respects the values in the table of “Spe c if ic a ti on nozzles”.
Connection using a rigid pipe or a flexible metal pipe
To ensure higher safety, it is recommended to carry out the connection to the gas system using rigid pipes (ex. copper) or using flexible stainless steel pipes, to avoid any stress to the unit. Gas feeding pipe fitting is Gc 1/2.
ES
rigid pipe
If the pipe, to reach the cock, must run behind the range, connection to the gas supply should be carried out using only rigid pipes in conformity with rules in force.
Connection using flexible, non metal pipes
When the connection can be easily inspected in its full extent, there is the chance to use a flexible pipe according to the rules in force.
The flexible pipe should be made ready for use in such a way that:
- nowhere it can reach overtemperature, other than room temperature, higher than 30°C;
- it is no longer than 1500 mm;
- it shows no throttles;
- it is not subject to traction or torsion;
- it doesn’t get in touch with cutting edges or
corners;
- it can be easily inspected in order to check its
condition.

Replace the nozzles of the hob burners
Every appliance has spare nozzles for every gas. The whole of every nozzle is marked in millimetres on the nozzle.
Before any modifications or adapt the range to a kind of different gas, you must DISCONNECT the cooker from the electricity supply and ensure that all control knobs are in the OFF position, and the appliance has cooled completely.
Hob burners
Remove the pan supports;
Remove the caps and the burner crowns;
Using a No 7 socket spanner unscrew the
nozzles and replace them with those required for the type of gas in use (see table
"Specification nozzles"). Reassemble the parts following the same procedure in reverse. These burners do not need any primary air regulation.
Adjustment of minimum level for the hob burners
The burner is correctly adjusted when the flame is stable silent and goes out without any noise. When changing the type of gas check that the minimum level is correct. The air admission is correct when the flame is about 4 mm in length. The top burners do not need adjustment of primary air. Check that, turning the knob quickly from the maximum position to the minimum one, the flame does not go out.
Hob burners
To adjust the minimum level:
Light the burner
Turn the knob to the position of the minimum
flame;
Remove the knob;
Unscrew or screw the by-pass screw (below
of tap shaft) until a regular small flame is
reached.
For LPG screw completely the by-pass
screw. Reassemble the parts following the same procedure in reverse. Check that, when turning the knob quickly from the maximum position to the minimum one, the flame does not go out.

USE OF APPLIANCE
Before the First Use of the Oven
Remove all packaging, both inside and outside the oven, before using the oven.
Before first use, the oven should be heated without food. During this time, an unpleasant odour may be emitted. This is quite normal.
1. Remove the oven accessories.
2. Remove any adhesive labels or protective
films, if there are any.
3. Heat the oven the corresponding knob on
position “250” for about 45 min.
This procedure should be repeated with the grill function for approximately 5-10 minutes.
Clean the accessories with a soft detergent. Rinse and dry carefully.
Rating Plate
The model number of your cooker can be found on the rating plate on the lower front frame of the cooker upon opening the door. The cooker must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breaker. The rating of the cooker is given on the rating plate.
About condensation and steam
When food is heated it produces steam in the same way as a boiling kettle. The oven vents allow some of this steam to escape. However,
always stand back from the oven when opening the oven door to allow any build up of
steam or heat to release. If the steam comes into contact with a cool surface on the outside of the oven, e.g. a trim, it will condense and produce water droplets. This is quite normal and is not a fault with the oven. To prevent discoloration, regularly wipe away condensation and also soilage from surfaces.
Cookware
Use any ovenproof cookware, which will withstand temperatures of 250
Oven dishes, etc. should not be placed directly on the oven base.
During cooking in the oven the oven door is hot. Take care that children do not play near it. When using the oven the lid has to be opened to avoid over-heating. The glass lid may shatter and could cause injury.

ELECTRIC OVEN
Oven Function Control Knob
Defrost – (NB: This is NOT a cooking
position). This position is intended to assist in thawing of frozen foods.
Fan cooking – Thermaflow cooking; this system will allow you to roast and bake at the same time with very little flavour transference, and on any shelf.
Grill and turn spit - The grill cannot be used at the same time as the oven. The oven
door must be closed when grilling.
Top oven element - enables you to finish off dishes on the top only.
Bottom oven element- enables you to finish off dishes on the bottom only.
Conventional cooking – used the top and bottom element; this function will enable you to use your favourite recipes without having to adapt the temperatures. It is necessary to preheat the oven in this instance.
Caution
Do not place pans, dripping pans, biscuits pans or aluminium foil directly on the base of the oven. This could cause a heat build-up which could affect the performance of the oven and damage the oven enamel.
Thermostat Control Knob
By turning the oven control knob clockwise, you select the cooking temperature. The temperatures shown here are on the actual control knob. Temperature selection starts at 50°C and will reach approximately 250°C at the centre of the oven. The thermostat controlling the temperature is variable so it is possible to select temperatures between those marked. The maximum setting is particularly suitable for grilling.
Things to note
Once the oven temperature has been
selected, the oven thermostat pilot light will come on and remain on until the oven has reached the correct setting; after that, it will go on and off with the thermostat, showing how the temperature is being maintained.
The oven light will come on when the oven
function control knob is set.
12
Page 14
USING THE FAN OVEN
The Fan Oven
The air inside the oven is heated by the element around the fan situated behind the back panel. The fan circulates hot air to maintain an even temperature inside the oven. The advantages of cooking with this function are:
Faster Preheating
Because the fan oven quickly reaches temperature, it is not usually necessary to preheat the oven although you may find that you need to allow an extra 5-7 minutes on cooking times. For recipes, which require higher temperatures, best results are achieved if the oven is preheated first, e.g. bread, pastries, scones, souffles, etc.
Lower Temperatures
Fan oven cooking generally requires lower temperatures than conventional cooking.
Remember to reduce temperatures by about 20- 25°C for your own recipes, which use conventional cooking.
The fan oven can be used to heat foods through without thawing first, e.g. fruit tarts, mince pies, sausage rolls, and other small pastry items. Use a temperature of 190-200°C and allow 20-40 minutes (depending on the quantity of food in the oven).
Only experience will enable you to determine the proper settings for your personal cooking needs. The temperatures are intended as a guide only. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the temperature to suit your individual requirements.
The effects of dishes on cooking results
Dishes and tins vary in their thickness, conductivity, colour, etc. which affects the way they transmit heat to the food inside them: A Aluminium, earthenware, oven glassware and bright shiny utensils reduce cooking and underneath browning. B Enamelled cast iron, anodized aluminium, aluminium with non-stick interior and coloured exterior and dark, heavy utensils increase cooking and underneath browning.
Even Heating for Baking
The fan oven has uniform heating on all runner positions. This means that batches of the same food can be cooked in the oven at the same time. However, the top shelf may brown slightly quicker that the lower one. This is quite usual. There is no mixing of flavours between dishes .
How to Use the Fan Oven
Turn the oven function control knob to
2. Turn the thermostat control knob to the
required temperature.
HINTS AND TIPS
Runner positions are not critical, but make sure the shelves are evenly spread.
When cooking more than one dish in the fan oven, place dishes centrally on the shelves rather than several dishes on one shelf. When the oven is full, you may need to allow slightly longer cooking time.
A shelf may be placed on the floor of the oven. Place dishes on a shelf in this position rather than on the oven base, to allow air circulation around the food.
When the oven is full of the same food, e.g. equal trays of small cakes or equal size victoria sandwich cakes, then they will be cooked in the same time and removed from the oven together. When different sizes of trays or types of food, e.g. biscuits and cakes are cooked, they will not necessarily be ready together.
Defrosting
The defrosting function allows you to defrost frozen foods. The oven fan operates without heat and circulates the air, at room temperature, inside the oven. This increases the rate at which defrosting takes place. This function is particularly suitable for delicate food which could be damaged by heat, e.g. cream filled gateaux, iced cakes, pastries, bread and other yeast products.
HINTS AND TIPS
Cover food with a lid, aluminium foil or plastic film to prevent drying out during defrosting.
Small or thin pieces of fish fillet or peeled prawns, mince, liver and thin chops will defrost in 1-2 hours. Ensure that they are cooked or refrigerated immediately after defrosting to maintain good foodhygiene.
Place the food to be defrosted in a single layer.
And turn over half way through the defrosting
process, where possible.
Place the frozen food a single layer where possible, and turn it over half way through the defrosting process.
DO NOT leave food at room temperature once it is defrosted. Cook raw food immediately or store cooked food in the fridge.
Take care to follow the basic rules for hygiene when handling fresh, frozen, raw and cooked foods.
Main pilot light
This light will illuminate when the oven function control knob is set or the hotplate knob is turned on and remains lit while these are in use.
13
Page 15
USING THE CONVENTIONAL OVEN
During use the appliance becomes hot. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements inside the oven.
When using this setting, heat comes from both the top and bottom elements. This allows you to cook on a single level and is particularly suitable for dishes which require extra base browning such as quiches and flans. Gratins, lasagnes and hotpots which require extra top browning also cook well in the conventional oven. This form of cooking gives you the opportunity to cook without the fan in operation.
How to use the conventional oven
Turn the oven function control knob to the
required cooking function
Turn the thermostat control knob to the
required temperature.
DO NOT place dishes directly onto the oven base as it becomes very hot and damage may occur. DO NOT use the grill pan or meat tin as a baking tray as this will increase base browning of the food. For economy leave the door open for the shortest possible time, particularly when placing food into a preheated oven.
Grilling
When grilling, the accessible parts of the appliance are hot and the appliance should not be left unattended. Take care that children do not play near it.
The grill pan will become hot during use, always use oven gloves when removing or replacing a hot grill pan.
All grilling must be carried out with the
oven door closed .
Top oven element only
This function is suitable for finishing cooked dishes, e.g. lasagne, shepherds pie, cauliflower cheese etc.
Bottom oven element only
This function is particularly useful when blindbaking pastry or cooking pizza. It may also be used to finish off quiches or flans to ensure the base pastry is cooked through.
Hints and Tips
There should always be at least 2.5cm between the top of the food and the element. This gives the best cooking results and allows room for rise in yeast mixtures, Yorkshire puddings, etc. When cooking cakes, pastry, scones, bread, etc., place the tins or baking trays centrally below element.
Ensure that food is placed centrally on the shelf andthere is sufficient room around the baking tray/dish to allow for maximum circulation.
Stand dishes on suitably sized baking trays to prevent spillage onto the oven base and to help reduce cleaning.
The material and finish of the baking tray and dishes will affect the degree of base browning of the food.
Enamelware, dark, or heavy utensils increase base browning. Shiny aluminium or polished steel trays reflect the heat away and give less base browning.
To switch on the grill, turn the oven function control knob to GRILL, then turn the thermostat knob to the maximum temperature .
Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air to lift the food out of the fats and juices. Food such as fish, liver and kidneys may be placed directly on the grill pan, if preferred.
Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thicknesses of food.
Food should be thoroughly dried before grilling to minimise splashing. Brush lean meats and fish lightly with a little oil or melted butter to keep them moist during cooking.
Accompaniments such as tomatoes and mushrooms may be placed underneath the grid when grilling meats.
When toasting bread, we suggest that the top runner position is used with the grid in its 'high' position.
Preheat the grill on a full setting for a few minutes before sealing steaks or toasting. Adjust the heat setting and the shelf as necessary, during cooking.
The food should be turned over during cooking, as required.
NOTE: For safety in use, the grill element is controlled by the thermostat. During cooking, the grill cycles on and off to prevent overheating.
Cooking time depends on the thickness of the meat and not on its weight.

Maximum level
Minimum level
Use the maximum level for boiling and the minimum for simmering. Always choose positions between the minimum and maximum, never between maximum and off.
Ignition of the burners
Push the knob and turn it left to the symbol “big
flame”.
At the same time the sparker generator begin
to produce a spark.
Release the knob after 10 seconds and watch
that the burner has ignited (until the safety valve automatically keeps the burner lit).
Upon ignition, adjust the flame as required.
OR Power Cut
Push the corresponding knob in completely
and turn it left to the symbol “big flame” and ignite with a match.
Release the knob after 10 seconds and watch
that the burner has ignited (until the safety valve automatically keeps the burner lit).
Upon ignition, adjust the flame as required.
If for any reason the flame should extinguish turn off the relevant control knob, leave for at least one minute and then re-ignite. If after a few attempts the burner does not ignite, check that the burner ring and its cap are correctly positioned.
Extinguishing of burners
Turn the knob clockwise to mark «

Electric Hotplate
To switch on a hotplate, turn the relevant control knob to the required heat setting.
The control knob is numbered 0 – 6
0 – OFF 1 – Minimum 6 – Maximum.
We recommend the plate is switched to maximum (6) for a short while to boost the plate, and then adjusted to the required setting.
It is important to note that the hotplate may smoke and produce a slightly unpleasant odour when used for the first time. This is quite normal and will disappear after some time.
Do not put anything on the hob that is
liable to melt.
Before closing the lid ensure the control
knobs are off.
Suggestions for the correct setting of the plates are given in the following table:

Selecting the Correct burner
Bad
(
)
Above every knob there is a symbol for the corresponding burner. For good cooking results, always choose pans, which correctly fit to the diameter of the burner used (see figs). Choose thick, flat bottom pots. We recommend the flame is lowered as soon as the liquid starts boiling. For a correct ignition always keep the burner ring and the spark plugs clean.
The following diameter pans can be used:

Hints and Tips
Saucepans for use on solid hotplates should have several characteristics:
They should be fairty heavy duty.
They should fit the heat area exactly, or be
slightly larger for efficient use, NEVER smaller.
They should have a flat base to ensure good
contact with the hotplate. This is particularty important when using pans for high temperature frying presure cooking.
As soon as liquid starts boiling, turn the hotplate control knob so that it will barely keep the liqiud simmering. You can switch off the hotplate a short while before you finish cooking, and the final stage will be completed using the accumulated heat.
Good use
Bad use
Ensure pans are large enough to avoid liquids being split into the plates. Never leave the plates on without a pan on them or with an empty pan on them.
Take care never to lean or reach over a hot electric plate. Always point pan handles inward or over the work surface next to the hob to avoid accidentally knocking over a pan as you pass by.
Take care when frying food in hot oil or fat, as the overheated splashes could easily ignite.
If the control knobs become difficult to turn, please contact your local Service Force Centre.

Accessories delivered with the appliance
The following accessories are supplied with your appliance :
Shelf for placing dishes on (roast, pastry
mounds). The dish should be put in the middle of the shelf to balance the weight.
Backing tray
Roasting tray
It is used to collect juice when cooking in it,
place it on the shelf 2 from low. If you do not use the roasting tray, remove it from the oven.
In addition to the accessories supplied we recommend you only use heatproof dishes/pans (according to the manufacturer’s instructions).
Removable drawer
The removable drawer is located underneath the oven cavity.
During cooking the drawer may become hot if the oven is in use for a long period of time. Flammable materials such as oven gloves, tea towels, plastic aprons etc. should not be stored in the drawer.
Oven accessories such as baking sheets, will also become hot, therefore care should be taken when removing these items from the drawer whilst the oven is in use or still hot.
To opening
Catch the drawer from bottom and pull it out.
To remove the drawer , pull it out till the stop,
than lift it slowly and pull it out completely.
Reassemble the drawer following the same procedure in reverse.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
The oven should be kept clean at all times. A build-up of fats or other foodstuffs could result in a fire. Before cleaning, ensure all control knobs are in the OFF position, and the appliance has cooled completely. Before any maintenance or cleaning can be carried out, you must DISCONNECT the cooker from the electricity supply.
Cleaning materials
Before using any cleaning materials on your oven, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by the manufacturer.
Cleaners that contain bleach should NOT
be used as they may dull the surface finishes. A steam cleaner is not to be used. Harsh abrasives should also be avoided.
External cleaning (by model EKC5611X)
The stainless steel parts may become straw coloured with use. Use a proprietary stainless steel cleaner to remove this straw discolouration.
External cleaning (by model EKC5612)
We recommend for cleaning cleaners type AXION or CIF that do not scratch the surface; after that rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid use of metall objects, steel wool or nylon pads, abrasive or caustic products, or diluents.
This will prevent a built-up of fat on the fan impeller. Do not use abrasive materials to clean the seal. The grease filter is dishwasher proof. When cooking is completed and the oven has cooled down, remove the filter by pushing the protruding tongue on the filter upward.
Cleaning the Oven door
For a more complete cleaning of the oven door, it is advisable to disassemble it in the following way:
- Open the door completely.
- Turn the two locking parts on the hinge arms
to 170°;
- Partially close the door, to a 30
- Lift the door and pull out.
locking parts
o
angle;
Glass lid
This should be cleaned with a soft cloth soaked in warm detergent water. Do not use abrasive scourers or steel wool.
Oven Cavity
The enamelled oven cavity is best cleaned whilst the oven is still warm. Wipe the oven over with a soft cloth soaked in warm soapy water after each use. From time to time it will be necessary to do a more thorough cleaning, using a proprietary oven cleaner.
Oven Shelves and shelf support
To clean the oven shelves, and shelf support soak in warm soapy water and remove stubborn marks with a well wetted soap impregnated pad. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.
Grease Filter
When cooking meat, the grease filter must be fitted over the oven fan by clipping it over the vents in the back panel.
Refit the door by reversing the operation described above.

Page 22
The Hob Top
The hob is best cleaned whilst it is still warm, as spillage can be removed more easily than if it is left to cool. Regularly wipe over the hob top using a soft cloth well wrung out in warm water to which a little washing up liquid has been added. Avoid the use of the following:
household detergent and bleaches;
impregnated pads unsuitable for non-stick
saucepans;
steel wool pads;
bath/sink stain removers.
Burners
The burner caps and crowns can be removed for cleaning. Wash the burners caps and crowns using hot soapy water, and remove marks with a mild paste cleaner. A well-moistened soap impregnated steel wool pad can be used with caution, if the marks are particularly difficult to remove. a soft cloth.
After cleaning, be sure to wipe dry with
The Hotplate
Spills onto the actual plate should be removed using warm water and a soft brush, nylon or plastic scourer. To keep the plates looking as new, hotplate conditioner can be purchased from most hardware stores, e.g. “4 Hob” by HomeCare Products (follow the manufacturer’s instruction for use). Alternatively, wipe the plates with a drop of olive oil on a kitchen towel to avoid rust. It is important to note that the plate will smoke a little and produce a slightly unpleasant odour when next used.
Drying
Important: After cleaning, dry the hotplates
thoroughly by switching on to a low-medium setting for a few minutes.
Restoring
To maintain the appearance of your sealed hotplates apply a little salt-free vegetable oil or restorative agent periodically.
To apply vegetable oil: first heat the hotplate on a medium setting for 30 seconds then turn off. Pour a very small amount of salt-free oil onto a dry cloth or kitchen paper. Apply a thin coat of oil to the hotplate surface and wipe off any excess. Heat the hotplate on a medium setting for 1 minute.
To apply restorative agent: first heat the hotplate on a medium setting for 30 seconds then turn off. Apply a very thin coating of Collo Electrol (using the applicator). Heat a hotplate on a high setting for 2-3 minutes to cure. Some smoke will occur, this is normal and nontoxic. (NB: this product is a restorative agent not a cleanser. It is available from hardware stores).
Stainless steel parts: the stainless steel spill rings may become straw coloured with use. Use a proprietary stainless steel cleaner to remove this straw discolouration. This also applies to the area around the hotplates on stainless steel hobs.
OVEN BULB REPLACEMENT
Ensure that the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the electricity supply before replacing the bulb to avoid possibility of an electric shock.
If the oven bulb needs replacing, it must comply with the following specifications:
Wattage: 25W Voltage: 230/240V(50Hz) Temperatures: 300ºC Thread Type: E14
To replace the faulty bulb.
1. Turn the glass cover anticlockwise and
remove.
